My laptop has been sent to get some minor repairs including the letter “C” which mysteriously came off after my daughter borrowed my laptop to watch Barbie and the Diamond Castle. Hmmmmm! So, I am having to use my dinosaur of a desktop. It is as slow as molasses! I am going to stick with the short and sweet posts until its glorious return…I don’t know how I am going to survive! For those of you who have giveaways and blog swaps in the next couple of weeks with me, no worries, I had planned for its absence and we are good to go!
Are you planning a bridal shower in the next little while? I had one for a friend a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be fun to have everyone in attendance leave a little advice for the soon to be married couple. I took their picture from their invitation and made a little chipboard book with scrapbook paper and some embellishements. Then had each guest write down a piece of advice or something they had learned from their experience with marriage that could help out the newlyweds to be.
They took a couple of minutes and wrote something down and then held on to their cards. When the couple was opening their present, they read the couple their advice. We then gathered up all of the cards and put them into the book. For the guests who were not married they shared something that they hope their spouse will do for them to show them they are loved and appreciated.
We had some really funny tips, some really profound ones and some sweet ones too. It was also a fun way to get to know the guests a bit better as well. Plus, the couple can take home the book and look back at it from time to time. I also took a few pictures at the shower and gave them to the bride so she could place some in the book as well.

Hi there. I love your blog, but I cannot figure out a way to become a follower! Also, I know I'm going to lose it when I log out, could you possibly find me and let me know how I can follow this blog? My blog is titled, In Case You're Wondering…
Thanks so much,
Marggie
Cute idea!
My daughter got into my laptop a few years ago and pulled all the keys off the keyboard. Ack! I know how that is!
XOXO

Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
I shudder to think of the advice we might have gotten from our wedding shower… :)
Love it when people give advice at showers. Usually those are the kinds of things a new bride or mommy needs to hear! Thanks for sharing!
great idea! I would have loved that at my shower, I'll keep it in mind for when I'm in charge of one.
thanks for the post, my niece is getting married this summer and this would be a cute addition to her bridal shower. although, it may have to be prefaced that it needs to be family-friendly…so no inappropriate comments. there can always be a few in the crowd (i suppose the reading aloud may curtail that!)
love the embellishing on the cover.

love it! Fun idea! Sorry to hear about your computer!
What a sweet thing. We had a baby shower for a friend a few weeks ago and we did something similar. Each guest had a card to write something they hope for the baby. I wish I had seen this first! I would have put them in some sort of album. How cute.
i love the advice!! cute idea.

He always kept talking about this. I will send this information to him.
Fairly certain he’ll have a good read. I appreciate you for sharing!
