I just got back in town late Sunday night from an awesome trip to San Francisco with my mom and 2 sisters. We had way too much fun. We have been saving up for this trip for quite a while now and I can’t believe that it has already come and gone.
We were able to see Wicked which was a definite highlight of our trip. We LOVED it!
(me standing below Lombard Street)
We also were able to rent some bikes and biked from Fisherman’s Wharf to the Golden Gate Bridge and across it and then back to the wharf. It was so much fun. It was such an amazing experience. I got a little dizzy when I looked over the edge of the bridge at the ocean below…and the cars whizzing by seemed to be going really fast, but I loved the whole experience!
We were also able to take an Alcatraz Cruise out to Alcratraz Prison. I really enjoyed learning about the history of the prison and it’s inmates. In fact I was so interested in it that I plan to check out some books from the library to learn some more (in all my spare time that is :)!
We had some hilarious moments while taking public transportation EVERYWHERE in the form of cable cars, F-trolleys, and BART. It certainly made for some fun people watching. We also walked and climbed some serious hills to get around to where we wanted to go. We ate way too much seafood, Boudin’s clam chowder and sourdough bread and topped it off with some Ghiradelli chocolate! Yum!

I can’t believe it is over. Back to reality and laundry!
What about you? What has been (or will be) the best vacation you have taken this summer?

I was able to see "Wicked" in London with my sister. Amazing show!
Wow – I'm so jealous – I've always wanted to go to San Francisco (living in Wales it will take a lot of saving!). Your photos are gorgeous. Your Mum doesn't look old enough to have two grown up kids!
Glad you had a great time – enjoy catching up with the laundry!

how fun you were right in my backyard. we just live a mile from the gg bridge. i hope you had fun. it's such an enchanting city. welcome back to life!!!
We leave in 2 days for Louisana…but every trip we take is my favorite..I always wanted to travel..married a truck driver with the gypsy gene…so we go lots of new and exciting places..haven't made it to California yet…but someday..
I LOVE San Francisco! It is one of my all time favorite cities–so much to do, and FUN that you rode bikes all around! I LOVE that orange bridge, too. Great shot of it, and I also like the shot of you alone in front of the windy road–nice smile:) How many sisters? They don't all want to be on your blog? I know you have more than one…Never seen wicked and I am sortof rebelling against the idea because of what everyone says, it can't be that good. I'm not into musicals so much.
I saw Wicked there a few years ago. Loved it!
I love that sourdough bread hot out of the oven, standing in the ocean breeze…yummy:)
Love your photos from the city. We were just there last summer with family. Glad you had some fun memories – enjoy!
what a fun trip, such a beautiful place. Ok, I haven't seen "Wicked" but have heard it's amazing!
My ideal vacation would be to spend 2 weeks on the pacific coast, probably in Hawaii. That's what we're saving up for!
I went with my sister's last Thanksgiving. Wicked, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, Ghiridelli, sea food, fire engine tour, china town. Ohhh the list can go on. Fell in LOVE with WICKED and the city. Glad you had fun, I can't wait to go back!
Looks like such a fun trip! And to go with your mom and sisters! So cool.
We're not going anywhere that I know of this summer. Maybe over the mtn to Denver to visit my in-laws who just moved there. It's ok though. Within the last year my husband and I went to Hawaii (without kids!). It was business, but still a lot of fun to tag along with him. And last fall we took the kids on a 2 week road trip up the Pacific Northwest coast starting in Cresent City, Ca through Oregon and Washington (yes Forks) and over to Seattle before heading home. That trip tops everything I've ever done. :)
Wonderful pictures of the bridge and your family, sounds like such a fun time! My fun this summer is a new grand baby due this week! :D
We went to Cali for our vacation and took our kids to Disneyland for the first time. It really was magical!
I've always wanted to go to San Fran, hopefully someday soon. Looks like you had a great time :D. The picture of you in front of Lombard St. is beautiful.
Think of taking a girls trip there. Looks like you had fun. Where did you stay?
I saw Wicked at the Orpheum last year and LOVED it. Teal Wicks played Elphaba and rocked that place. Just looking at all your pic's makes me want to go back. Thanks for sharing. Good Luck playing catch up! Just turn on "Defying Gravity" and you'll have that laundry done in no time!
Yeah! We have suprise tix for Wicked this weekend for my daughter's birthday! Love those shots. Just beautiful!
We love SF! We went for our honeymoon 2 yrs ago. We did the Alcatraz tour at night, which was really neat.
We just got back from our "big" summer vacation, a family reunion in Delaware.
This was a nice trip down memory lane. A year ago my BFF's in the whole world came from all over the country to stay for 3 days in SF. We stayed at the Ghirardelli bldg. They have cool condos with a deck overlooking the bridge! I can still smell the cool morning, ocean air! Wonderful!(And trips to the cupcake place every evening!)
That was totally wicked!
JEA-LOUS!! I only dream of seeing Wicked someday! Looks like a fun trip.
I'm catching up on your blog and saw you went to San Fran. I'm visiting my parents in California this summer and we're going to see Wicked in San Fran on tuesday! I'm so excited!! Glad to see you loved the bay area!
