I have been so busy repainting and putting back the chair rail and wall moldings on some of our house remodel that I have not had time to work on any DIY crafts to be able to share with you just yet. Life in general and the kids make it so these things are taking a lot longer than I would like. But we are getting closer!
I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite crushes right now. Remember when I shared my first crush list with you here? Well I thought it was time for round two. I also thought it would be a fun way for me to get to know some of your crushes as well. If you would like to play along with us…feel free to come up with your own list and link them up here to the linky party I have added to the bottom of this post.
This first item is something that I use everyday…multiple times. I love it. I use it on my hands (in the winter), on my hang nails, and on my lips! Love it! We also use it on my daughter’s who tend to get little patches of eczema in the winter time.
Chocolate Xtreme Dairy Queen Blizzard? Yes Please! My husband like to get one and share it for a simple date night out. So rich and chocolatey with some nice big brownie chunks. What is your favorite Blizzard?
Love this lotion. Love the feel and the smell of it. I like to use it on my hands when I get up in the morning and before I go to bed. I keep it right on my nightstand so I won’t forget. My hair dresser will give me a hand massage with this while we wait for my color…I know…she is awesome!
Wall Clocks. I have an obsession! I have one in several rooms in my home. One of my favorites came from Target of all places! Of course it did!
I love Citrus scents! Especially this foaming soap from Bath and Body Works. It smells so good and I love the foamy soap bubbles.
And…are these Moroccan inspired soap sleeves not the cutest things ever? I have one in the Master Bath!
Ummm….these are the best! I may have eaten so many of these in one sitting that my tongue was sore for a few days…Candy crack!
Loving this mascara which I recently made the switch too. Have to have the very black and the waterproof version!
Crushed Ice! I Love to chew ice…(I know how bad it is and all of that…but I still love it) Well call it “good conga”! I have been an ice chewer for as long as I can remember. I know it is bad for your teeth so I try to just suck on it now. I really want to install a crushed ice machine in my kitchen…wouldn’t that be awesome? Like having a Sonic in your own home!
*edit—I do get my anemia levels checked routinely now by my thyroid doctor and they are normal. Thanks for those of you who expressed concern. I had not heard of the connection of chewing ice with low levels of iron.
Warm and cozy sweater socks! Living in Utah these are a must. I love pulling on a pair of these and hunkering down in front of a roaring fire.
What about you? What are some of your favorite crushes? Do we have some of the same items we are crushing on?

fyi – craving ice is almost always a sign of anemia. Get it checked! I know you shared about your thyroid, but anemia can be bad news too.
Thanks for the list!

I have heard the same thing about ice/anemia – a woman I work with was constantly chewing on ice, and once she balanced her body’s iron levels she no longer had the craving/urge to chew on ice

Great list. It’s funny because whenever ice comes up, so does Sonic. I have never heard of pebble ice before moving to Indiana where Sonic is much more prevalent. Who knew you could even buy it by the bag to go? There’s a nice fix!

I go to Sonic Daily to get 1/2price Route 44 diet coke on the way to school. Didn’tknow you could buy the ice by the bag. I’m going to check it out.

Suzanne,
I live in Indiana too–well Southern Indiana, close to Louisville, Ky. They have closed most of our Sonic locations in this part of the state…sad state of affairs for us Ice Chewers. We still have Thorntons gas stations who serve “Crunchy Nugget Ice” which is pretty much identical to Sonic’s. I just wanted to comment on the anemia link to ice chewing..I’ve had chronic anemia for a few years requiring at least a couple of transfusions per year. My husband says that he can always tell when it is time for a transfusion by the increase in the number of requests that he stop on his way home from work and get me a 44oz cup of ice from Sonic or Thorntons.

Thanks for your fun list! Your the second blog I’ve read about Falsies mascara…I need to try it!
I used to be a major ice chopper until I found out through a routine blood test that I was dangerously anemic ( low in iron). You may want to look into that. Since I take iron supplements the desire to chew ice is gone!

Thanks everyone for the warnings about anemia. I do get my bloodwork done for anemia when they check my thyroid. So far I’m good. Thanks!
The aquaphore rocks my socks too!!!!! Its really really good :D
Amy,
That’s the same mascara I use and I love it!
Also, I’m putting that morrocan soap sleeve on my list to buy…really cute!
You CAN get a pebbled ice machine in your home! Scotsman, just put one out recently! We got ours through Mountainland Appliance and Design. I can’t wait!
Amy – First – my Blizzard is Snickers (LOVE!) – the lotions we don’t have in Florida (or at least I haven’t seen them). Now – for the ice thing – I used to chew ice ALL THE TIME!!!! However, after I had a hysterectomy (I had uterian cancer) I no longer chew ice! I have no desire to chew it any more -EVER. In fact, I don’t even like ice in my drinks anymore! I have no idea what the connection was (if there was one) or if it was just a strange coincendence. Anyway, I do understand the NEED to chew ice – LOL! I’ll have to look for the citrus hand soap – I too love the citrus smell and the sleeve is cute! (I’m too old for that mascara, don’t need all that length at my age – I just use Volumious by Loreal).
I am guilty of eating whole bags of Cadbury Mini-Eggs, by myself! I hide them in my closet and eat them without the kids or hubby knowing! I need help! Also I love the same mascara! I’m also a fellow Utahn and have very dry skin, so I think I need to give those lotions a try! Thanks!
Amy I am almost scared to admit but with the exception to the Cadbury eggs (I don’t love the sore tongue thing with those so I gave them up) and the Hempz lotion which I must hunt down all of the things you listed are MY favorites too! Did you know that Aquaphor is what my burn unit recommended after I got a really bad burn on my legs and foot from scalding hot water – it is awesome! Blizzards – I am the Cookie Jar lover – YUMMO! I have put the Sonic/Cafe Rio ice machine on my wish list many times (still have not gotten one) .. didn’t know about the iron thing – but I know mine is okee dokee. Three months ago discovered the Falsies Mascara – AWESOME… Have you tried the Fresh Orange candle by Gold Canyon Candle Company – OH EM GEE if you like citrus – mmmmmmmmm!
We DO share crushes. I just bought Aquphor for my dry aching hands and for my babe’s dry skin. I love it!! Also love, love, love Cadbury mini-eggs. I have been trying to resist buying them yet this season because I am afraid of how many I will eat. I also am a huge crushed ice fan.
Thank you for the great suggestions. I really like Bath and Body Works foaming soaps. They are my favorite and I always stock up. Where can I buy the Hempz lotion? I would love to give it a try. I live in Davis County, Utah.
I have to attest to the awesomeness of aquaphor. My daughter’s knees were awful looking since she has been crawling like mad and refuses to keep her pants on. I’m not the best at remebering lotion, but nothing I was using was making them look any better. I tried curell, johnsons, aveeno, and an eczema lotion for babies. My pediatrician gave me a handful of trial tubes of aquaphor, and I only had to put it on her knees once before the rugburn/eczema was almost completely gone!!! That stuff is amazing!
K my mom always gets on my case about chewing ice, but I’m perfectly healthy and I do it all the time! Have you tried the new dark chocolate Cadbury eggs? I might have eaten 3/4 of the bag…love that mascara in the very black & waterproof as well! I like the slipper socks for cold Utah days. I do like that blizzard, but if they added cookie dough chunks, I’d be sold! Fun there’s a lot of the same crushes! My nighttime routine involves putting Vaseline on my lips & knuckles to keep them soft too!
I love the look of that clock, but I do wish they knew what roman numerals look like, because the #4 in Roman numerals is not IIII, it is IV
Oh my goodness, I have a major crush on Hempz lotion as well!! I just was reminding myself yesterday to go buy some! :) You have good taste for sure Amy!
Curious if anyone has a “crush” on a good eye/wrinkle cream? I’ve been on the market for one but most are pricey and I don’t want to pay for something that’s no good.
Burt’s Bees lip balm. My #1 crush for sure – never leave home without it! Candy-wise it would have to be a combo of Milk Duds with Vanilla Coke. I can sit through any movie if I have those!
Aquaphor is my favorite lotion, especially for my kids. Hands down. My second favorite (lighter) is Cetaphil. Another staple in our house. Both get used daily!
Yes! Love it here especially with the DRY weather. We have used Cetaphil as well!
I love the Moraccan inspired sleeves. Where do you get those?
