This Giveaway is now CLOSED!
When you live in Utah, snow is just an expected part of Winter. And this winter we have been getting slammed. In fact, I can not remember a winter here with as much snow as we have gotten this year. We have had several huge snow storms that have dumped at least 6+ inches of snow and three storms where we have received 24+ inches. In fact, we have had snow on the ground since Christmas. Life here just continues on as normal.
It is a good thing my family loves to ski. I grew up skiing here and my husband grew up near Mammoth Mountain in California. So we both really enjoy snow skiing. We have taught our four oldest children all to ski at 5 years old. And our youngest, who turned 5 in the fall, was anxious to learn how to ski so she could join her siblings on the mountain.
And…those skis are so tiny! I can’t get over how cute she is! How is my baby old enough to be skiing?
So, when I was invited by Wolf Mountain Ski Resort to join them for a day of ski lessons and skiing, I jumped at the great opportunity. We happen to LOVE Wolf Mountain for many reasons and have enjoyed many days of fun ski trips there with our family.
They have such a great ski school staff and were so kind and patient and my daughter was so excited to learn how to ski with them.
Wolf Mountain has a perfect spot for teaching new skiers how to ski. They have an awesome conveyor belt (aka The Magic Carpet) that takes you to the top of a little hill that anyone can ride without fear or apprehension. Look at how proud she is of herself!
The staff and her ski instructors were so great with her and within an hour she was skiing down the hill all by herself making “pizza” and “french fries” like a pro.
While she was learning, Mr. Idea Room took off to enjoy the slopes while I took an Intermediate Skiing class to brush up on my skiing technique. I learned some great tips from Paulette on how to correct some bad habits and learned some things I did not know. Wow…did that make a difference in my skiing ability. I wish I would have learned this 20 years ago! I feel like a totally different skier with the things I learned.
We then were treated to a yummy lunch in the newly remodeled Wolf Mountain Lodge. Their food was pretty tasty and we were able to rest and refuel to get back out on the mountain.
We spent the next few hours skiing with our newest little ski bunny. She was having so much fun even though the snow fall had really started coming down. She did not want to go home! We finally got her off the mountain by telling her it was time to go home and tell her brothers and sisters about her awesome ski day!
I want to thank Wolf Mountain for an awesome ski day. We had a great time and LOVED our ski instructors. We LOVE Wolf Mountain are so excited to be able to have a great ski mountain so close to us. They have great prices and deals EVERY weeknight. You seriously can’t beat it. And with a large family, skiing can be so expensive to do all together. But the prices at Wolf Mountain along with their special deals make it affordable.
They also have some great after school skiing programs that offer lift tickets, ski lessons and rentals at a great price. I think we will be sending our kids up and participating in this next year. What a great way to get them out in the fresh air and away from the electronics.
They also have GREAT deals on Season Passports. In fact, next year’s Season Passports go on sale this coming Friday, March 1st for their lowest prices. And, if you buy a Season Pass for next year, and have never purchased a Wolf Mountain Season passport, you can use it and ski for the rest of this year’s snow skiing season!! For more details you can read about them here: Wolf Mountain Season Passports. How awesome is that?

I was so happy to see Mammoth mentioned! :) My grandparents have had a cabin in Mammoth Lakes since the 1960’s. That’s the only place I’ve ever skiied. (And I’m not a skiier, in spite of my dad’s best attempts to help me enjoy it…) But we’ve been all over that part of CA. Thanks for the fun memories!
