With the kids back in school, I have Fall and the upcoming Holidays on my mind. This is absolutely one of my favorite seasons. I was recently sent some fun supplies from DecoArt and challenged to use some of them to create something with them. And we all know how much I love to create.
There were some really fun graphic stencils and some Multi-Surface Paints and so I decided to make some fun Halloween Treat Bags.
Everything looks better in a pretty package…am I right?!
I simply took some plain linen sacks (which I picked up from my local craft store) and then stenciled them with some Halloween colored paint from DecoArt.
I slid a piece of paper inside the linen sack that was the same size as the bags to prevent the paint from seeping through the sacks.
Then let the paint dry fully. Simple as that.
Fill with your favorite Halloween treats…in this case…an old favorite…Candy Corn.
Whip up some pretty tags, or use the ones I made.

Americana Multi-Surface Satins are available for purchase at Michaels, A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby, and other fine craft retailers. You can also take advantage of this great rebate that’s good for the next couple months!
Here’s to hoping for a long and beautiful fall season!
And just for fun…what is your favorite Holiday/Season?

Thanks Ladies for stopping by! Wish it could be stopping by my house in real life :)
LOVE those bags! What a fun idea. I have a bunch of them and know what I’ll be doing with them from now on:-)
Thanks Amy! I had them for a while and finally figured out a fun way to use them!
Hey Amy-
I love, love these! I think that they are perfect for friends and/or visiting teachers. You’re a genius and I think that you are amazing! Love ya friend!
Thanks so much Tausha! xo
Hi there!
Love your Site. I am going to be making a lot of your scrubs for gifts this Christmas and I noticed that some say to refrigerate. Can you please tell me the shelf life of the scrubs and if they all have to be refrigerated?
I will be making the peppermint, pumpkin spice and lemon.
Thanks so much!
Technically the scrubs should be good for 3 months. I have tested mine and they hold up fine. But…if you use real lemon juice instead of the recommended oils, etc…they may not last as long. Does that make sense? So to be safe I recommend keeping some in the fridge. If you make smaller batches they will get used up quickly before using it all.
Not everyone is on Facebook and would like to download the cute tags
I know it is annoying. Had to do my printables this way due to people reposting and claiming them as their own. It has cut down on the problem but makes it difficult for those not on FB. What email can I send it to?
Thank you for offering to email them. My daughter did them for me. Love all your cute ideas!
Oh! Good to know! So glad you were able to get them.
Where did you get the cute bags? I went to MIchael’s but no luck. They are soooo cute!
I got them at my local Bennion Crafts store. I wonder if Hobby Lobby would carry them.
Those are so cute!
Thank you my friend! xo
These are so cute!! I wish I could buy a package that had all the items in it because going and getting them all is what stops me from doing it. Well, not ME, rather my daughter because she’s the crafty one in this house. LOL
Thanks for the wonderful tutorial!
I totally hear you on that one. That is the worst part sometimes is gathering up the supplies!
oooooooo! these are just adorable. and i love the colors! so fun, amy.
Thank you Kellie! You are always so sweet!
Is that spider made from a piece of charcoal with black wire for legs?
The rock is just a regular rock that I painted black, and yes, the legs are black wire that I bent and then hot glued on the bottom of the rock! Super easy but cute!!
What a cute idea! Where do you find the stencils? I’m new to the crafting world outside of quilting.
I used some stencils from the Martha Stewart line. Michaels and Hobby Lobby would be a great place to find some of them in a style that you like!
