Toxic Treats—Halloween Treat Bags

Last week I shared with you these fun Halloween Treat Bags that I made with my Silhouette machine.  Today I want to share with you HOW I made them, so that you can make some too if you would like.

I used Silhouette’s new Stamping Starter Kit and made this “Toxic Treats” stamp from an existing download from Silhouette’s online store.  Then I set my Silhouette to cut on the Stamping Kit settings which was a 9 on the blade and selected my Silhouette to double cut it.

The stamp material cut very cleanly and I simply stuck the entire thing on the clear plastic stamp pad that comes in the kit.  Be sure to put it on so that the writing is backwards when you are looking at the bottom of the stamp.  When you stamp…you should be able to read it through the clear glass block like below.  (I only know this because I did it wrong the first time Smile)

Peel away the excess parts of the stamp that you are not going to be using.  I used my small Silhouette hook to do this.

I made the little treat bags out of some white paper bags I had.  I simply cut them out the size I wanted them…a bottom piece and a top piece…and then sewed them together with my sewing machine.

Fill them with your favorite goodie or cookie.  Or fill them with some of my fun Monster Cookies.

There are some other fun options very similar to the Toxic Treats stamp you could make.  There is one that says “Boo to you!” that I think would make some really cute treat bags as well if you don’t want something that uses the word “toxic”.

Use the treat bags as a fun décor item at your Halloween party, classroom party or give them as a small gift to a friend this Halloween season.
