I just got back from a quick trip to North Carolina on behalf of Lowes. As part of the Lowes Creative Bloggers, we were invited out to tour the Lowes Headquarters and meet the entire team we have been working with over the past few years. I feel so blessed to be a part of this fun group and to work so closely with Lowes.
For November, the LCI Bloggers were challenged to come up with a few different ideas…and I chose to share some welcoming Holiday decor. I decided to create a festive Christmas Wreath and add some fun Christmas Decor to my front porch…because it will be the first thing your guests will see when they arrive at your home.
I updated these grey planters that we built by taking out the boxwood plants and replanting them into some other planters in the back yard for the winter months and replacing them with these lighted Christmas Trees from Lowes. I LOVE them!
Then I took a basic battery powered lighted wreath from Lowes and added a JOY banner.
I found these vinyl letter stickers in the aisle with the mailbox supplies and for sale signs. Hello! Such a great find! I know many of you want to use vinyl letters but don’t have a machine to cut vinyl and this is a great solution!! I used the vinyl letters as a stencil for the banner.
The banner is made out of a paint drop cloth! I use drop cloths for all sorts of projects. I just cut them into this flag banner shape and then traced the outline of the vinyl letters with a Sharpie and then colored the letter in. So easy!
Then I gathered a few pinecones from the back yard and tied them into the wreath to spruce it up a bit along with some red berries from an old berry garland.
Then I took some twine, which I also found at Lowes, and tied the banner onto the wreath. I LOVE how simple this project was. I sometimes tend to go a bit overboard with these projects :) ….
Lowes also has some great outdoor pillows and lanterns. I will be heading back to Lowes to pick up some more to add to my front porch Christmas Decor. I don’t usually jump ahead so quickly and skip Thanksgiving…but bloggers have to keep ahead a bit…and I don’t feel like taking it down now that it is up…you know? Eek! Christmas is coming!!
My friend Jen from Tatertots and Jello shared a similar idea for this challenge. I just love how her porch turned out don’t you? It is so bright and festive!

Thank you so much Janet! I always appreciate that! xo
What a pretty wreath with the lights and bunting…so cute!!!
Thank you Marti! I am a bit obsessed with bunting :)
love the wreath! where did you find such little clothes pins??
I love the simplicity. Thanks for the tip on the lettering and drop cloths. Just stunning!
I love this! My favorite kind of Christmas wreaths are the evergreen ones… even fake evergreen ;) Nothing says Christmas more! Made even more perfect with that JOY pennant, too! :)
I have been looking for a wreath like this for several months. It is simple yet festive and I wanted the lights to make it stand out which it has. I appreciate you sharing this. I will be making a wreath in the near future. Thanks Linda
So glad to hear that! It really is so easy to make!
Love, love this! In fact, I just made it!! The drop cloth seems to be fraying a little – was there anything you did to prevent it from fraying?
It does fray a bit. It doesn’t really bother me. I just trim it if I get a really long string. You could put a little glue on the back of them on the edge to prevent the fraying if it really becomes a problem.
What a beautiful wreath! I could use a new one! Love the “joy” in the middle. It’s the perfect Christmas word!
Natalie- Thank you!
