HOMEMADE TOFFEE
This homemade toffee recipe also makes a great gift idea for friends, family and neighbors. I don’t know about you, but it would sure brighten my day if a batch of this suddenly appeared on my doorstep :). But, let’s not waste any more time…here is how you make it!
TIPS FOR MAKING THIS HOMEMADE TOFFEE RECIPE
It is pretty easy to make homemade toffee. Here are some tips to make toffee that will ensure that it turns out every time.
- Butter: Make sure to use real butter – margarine won’t work for this recipe.
- Saucepan: use a large, heavy bottom saucepan.
- Thermometer: Use a candy thermometer to take the guess work out of knowing when the toffee is done boiling.
- Chocolate: Use quality chocolate on top. I prefer milk chocolate, but you can use semi-sweet, or dark chocolate on top as well.
- Use high quality ingredients.
HOW TO STORE HOMEMADE TOFFEE CANDY
You can wrap the pieces individually in waxed paper or plastic wrap and store them in an airtight container. A cookie tin works great. They should be fine for several weeks. If you need them to last longer than that, freeze them. You still need to wrap them and put them in an airtight container even if you are freezing.
