Iam always looking for a fun way to motivate the kids to get their room cleaned and the chores done. I have used these printable punch cards and then give a reward when card is full. It works really well!
SUMMER
Do your kids need a little extra motivation to get their chores done? Is it hard for them to get their summer reading finished? Trying to encourage them to practice the piano? These could even work during the school year to get a homework assignment done. Sometimes it can be hard to help your kids be motivated to get a mundane task done. I have used Reward Punch Cards with my kids here and there when they were struggling to get something done. I created some Summer Punch Cards that can be used for a variety of reasons for a motivating incentive or use it for a good behavior support tool this summer during June, July or all year long. These could work in a classroom too.
PUNCH CARD
The premise behind these cards is that you or the child can choose something they are trying to accomplish or get done without mom or dad having to nag them. I like to use the “generic” punch cards. Then, you or your child can choose an incentive.
An example would be if Johnny is having a hard time getting his room cleaned or his bed made, simply set up a reward for a certain amount of punches. If he keeps his room clean 5 days in a row (or 5 punches), he can have 1 hour of computer time, ice cream, a gift or whatever reward of your choice.
When he has completed the task you simply punch the card and then he is allowed to use his reward or prize. I have included a lot of punch marks on the cards so if you want them to fill our a whole card. At times, I have given a larger reward depending on how much work it takes to get an entire card punched. If you would like you can use a marker to keep track as well.

To make these, I used the following supplies:
- Printer
- Cardstock
- Hole Punch
- Paper Cutter/Scissors
I have used these cards to reward great behavior. I think these printable punch cards are quite versatile. You could also use these in early childhood programs. I have used these as incentives and they give my children a sense on accomplishment. This is a great positive behavior support tool.
