Crochet Ear Flap Hat

I recently finished this crochet ear flap hat for my daughter who has outgrown last years winter hat. And good thing as the other day we got snowed on. Yikes! Not quite ready for that, especially before Halloween!

But my daughter was so excited to wear her new hat. I was happy to oblige since I needed to get some pictures of her wearing it. This way I didn’t have to beg her to let me take her picture. It snowed off and on again all day like this and we ended up getting an inch or so of snow that hung around for a while. Pretty unusual for the first season of the year. But the kids loved it! Ahhh! Not ready to say goodbye to the fall weather yet!

I used a pattern for this hat that can be purchased here. For some strange reason my kids don’t like the tassles on the ear flaps. I think they are crazy. The tassles are adorable, so when I get a second, I am going to put them on anyway…why? Cause I said so!

Warm Brim Crochet Cap

Now that the cooler weather is just around the corner, cute hats will become a necessity. I found a cute crochet hat pattern last year and made this hat for my girls. They both liked it so much, they had to share it. I found the pattern here.

The hat was for an adult, so I changed the hook size and used a 3.75mm hook. I also added an extra fpdc so that there was an extra line in between the lines on the outside of the hat in the original pattern. I also added fewer stitches in the brim to adjust for the smaller size. I am planning on making one in a different color so they won’t have to share this year. Or maybe I will make one for myself. Now there is a good idea!

Visor Beanie with Flower Crochet Hat

I made this hat for my daughter and was so happy with how it turned out. Jackie from Totzhatz was kind enough to hook me up with the pattern. I was a little nervous at first because there were a couple of stitches I had never done before, but I just looked them up on the internet and they turned out to be pretty simple. If you crochet then you should go and check out her sites here and here. If you don’t crochet, you should still check them out because you may be so inspired that you decide to learn how.

Here is a direct link to this pattern on TotzHatz.

I used a size H crochet hook. My yarn was all Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Terracotta (flower), Maize (main hat) and Almond (edging). I purchased the yarn at Ben Franklin although I have seen this brand at other places too.
