Ummm…Wow…

I took a break over the weekend from my blog and the internet the past few days and when I checked back in last night was stunned at your response. I read back through what I had written and realized I did sound a bit desperate. I should have waited to write that post so I was a bit more detached from my immediate reaction. I apologize about the drama as I am normally one who shys away from it.

Some of you wondered if the anonymous comment on the Apothecary Halloween Jars had something to do with this. It did not. I did not delete the comment because I didn’t give it much credence, especially since they were hiding behind their “anonymous” status.

I have had negative emails and comments in the past that I normally ignore. I realize now I was totally unprepared for such a personal attack. The two emails were sent within a couple hours of one another and not only attacked my religion as mentioned, but one specifically attacked my children, which freaked me out. That had me questioning my motivation for my blog and whether it was worth putting my family at risk, for this person was clearly a creep. I do still worry about being vulnerable, and have decided that I am going to have to get creative about how much exposure I give my kids. Which could actually be a good thing right?

I admit, I did think about quitting…but not for long. I spent a couple hours last night reading through all of your sweet comments and KIND emails. I was overwhelmed by your response and realized all over again why I really do enjoy this blog. I am admittedly still surprised, but grateful, for all of you good people who ARE out there supporting me. So THANK YOU!!

A couple of you reminded me that there IS opposition in all things and that the good things of the world will always have those who will try and tear it down. That really struck a chord with me and I absolutely believe that!

So, just so you know, (and so commentor #249, JoAnn can finally get off her chair where she has committed to sit until I post again) I plan on continuing on. I continue to hope that this will be a place where women and families of all religions, ethnic backgrounds and beliefs can come together and share ways to enjoy one another and become more sucessful as families.
