WHAT TREATS SHOULD I SERVE AT A HALLOWEEN PARTY?
I love coming up with creative halloween treat ideas to use in my own home and to share with my family and friends. So you know that I have to host a Halloween Party every year. We have some tried and true halloween recipes that we have to make every year because it’s a fun tradition. But I also like to try a couple of new ideas as well. This year we added these fun Halloween ghost treats as a little take home dessert idea.
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THESE HALLOWEEN GHOST TREATS
- popsicle sticks or sucker sticks
- white melting chocolate, white chocolate chips or white candy melts
- mini chocolate chips
- Rice Krispies or Gluten-free crispy rice cereal
- jelly roll pan
- parchment paper
- small bowl
- spatula
- butter knife
HOW TO MAKE RICE KRISPIE HALLOWEEN GHOST TREATS?
These cute halloween treats are easy to make with just a few simple ingredients. Just follow our simple instructions.
- Make your favorite Rice Krispie Treat recipe. See our Rice Krispie Treat Recipe below.
- Make according to the directions, but use a jelly roll pan instead of a 9×13 pan so that the ghosts are flatter and you can get more out of your pan.
- Let the Rice Krispie treats harden a bit before handling and then cut into rectangles. You can cut up the whole pan at once so they are all the same size.
- Then take a rectangle and cut the tops of the rectangle so you have rounded the top so it looks like the ones in the photo.
- Place a stick gently into the bottom of the ghost if you want to turn them into little ghosts pops.
- Place each one back onto a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
- Let them harden.
- Take your candy melts or white chocolate chips and place them into a small bowl. Then melt them in the microwave. Be sure to melt them in 30 second intervals and stir the mixture between each time so they don’t burn.
- Take your melted chocolate and spread it onto the rounded top of the ghost and as far down the front and sides as you would like to go.
- Place them back onto the parchment paper and add candy eyes or mini chocolate chips for the ghost eyes. I used the tip of a butter knife to help me move the eyes into place without making a mess of the excessmelted chocolate. If you want you can add a few fun sprinkles to your ghost.
- Let harden. You can pop them into the freezer to speed up the process if you need to.
That’s it! You now have some delicious halloween treats to serve at your halloween party…or to give to your kids, family and friends.
HOW TO GIFT HALLOWEEN GHOST TREATS
If you aren’t serving these at a party, you can give them to Trick-or-Treaters or as a small gift. Wrap them up in some cellophane or a cellophane baggie tied with some ribbon or bakers twine. They make a sweet little gift for anyone!

Thanks for the comment and for stopping by! Hope you have a lovely Halloween holiday!
How do I make the hardened white frosting part dairy free?
hahaha…’trained my family well enough that they can’t eat until I get a picture of it’! Oh the life of a blogger’s family. My family jokes all the time…”I’m going to the bathroom mom….do you want to snap a picture before I go!”
Sad but true…
That line made me bust out laughing!
And tell your neighbor that I LOVE their idea! Thanks so much for sharing!
(P.S. I found you from Pinterest.)
oh p.s. those ghosts are really cute too. I’ve never made treats for the classroom…bad mommy. I’m good at other things!
haha! Well, I think in the vast scheme of things…making a classroom treat is not going to be too high on the important things I did as a mom. You are an amazing mom!
I love that idea. And I love rice krispy treats. It’s a win win
Thanks lady! Rice Crispy treats are a childhood favorite of mine!

Love it! I make a similar recipe, but it’s with nutter butters instead.
I have seen those and they are really cute!
Can I ask where you got the mini chocolate chips? I’ve been seeing a lot of Halloween goodies that use them, but I don’t know that I’ve ever seen them in a store.. Thanks! Super cute treats!!
I just found mine at Target. Although I have seen them at various grocery stores in the baking aisle.
Love, Love, LOVE it ! thank you.
haha! So glad! Thanks!
These were quite tasty Halloween treats and the kids loved them. Thanks for posting on the respected Idea Room blog, Amy.
My family had a great time! Thanks!
thanks! I’m so happy I’ll make them for the kids in my Halloween party ! So many things to think!!! decoration, invitation, music, food activities…This treat is so cute and easy!
Found this on pinterest and pinned :) I’m going to make these for my daughter’s 5th birthday for school treats next week. Such a cute idea!
Thanks so much for the pin and for taking the time to stop on over and leave a comment. It is always appreciated!!
I was wondering if I could shape these in a lightly greased popsicle mold and then dip? Not sure if they would harden well enough to retain shape…
Yes! I really do think you could do that and have them harden. It might be tricky getting them back out unless you had some way to access both ends of the mold to give a little push while pulling. Does that makes sense?
Thank you for this yummy recipe! I have featured it on my Halloween blog post today! Happiest of Halloweens to you! http://www.jenniferleephotographee.com/blog/2014/10/28/halloween-party-round-up
Hi just wondering how much in advance can I make them and don’t store in the fridge? Thank you!!
Sorry I meant do I store in the fridge once they are wrapped? They are super cute!
