Two weeks ago I was involved in hosting the Creative Blogging Conference Snap. I have been able to help plan and organize the conference for the last two years and have been working with some good friends to make it happen.
Well this year, Tauni Everett, the founder of Snap, invited me to speak with a couple of my good friends and women that I look up to in the online community…Desirée from The 36th Avenue and Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick.
We each took turns breaking down some of the basics tips we felt helped to build and grow our sites and online communities. Today we are sharing our presentation here if you are interested. I was the first speaker and this is the information I covered.
To see the portions of the presentation that were covered by Desirée from The 36th Avenue and Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick, you can visit their respective sites here:

Basic Blogging Tips for Online Success Part 1 of 3:
If you went to Snap, I hope you had a great time and felt like you were able to learn a lot of the things you came to learn. I was able to meet many of you and am so grateful for the connections that a Conference like Snap can help us create with others. If you have any questions that you would like for me to try and answer, I would be happy to answer them in the comment section.

I am so happy to hear that. Sometimes all we need is an extra push! Good luck! I really appreciate you taking the time to share that with me. It always makes my day! xo

We would love to have you! Thanks so much for the kind words! xo
Hi Amy! I don’t know if you remember meeting me at SNAP. We sat next to each other in a class. But you made an impact on how I’m viewing things concerning my blog. I wrote about you on my blog today if you want to know what I’m telling people about you! HA! http://www.squibsandcrackers.com/2013/04/snap-my-blogging-conference.html
You are the sweetest! You made my entire day. I am actually quite shy myself when it comes to being in a large crowd of people I do not know! haha! So glad to be able to have a chance to meet you and chat with you!
Great tips! Thank y ou so much for sharing :-) I can’t wait to attend next years event!
That would be great!!
Great post- I actually posted something similar today. How funny. Great points made. It’s so important to be authentic. It’s okay to go with trends but to flat out copy someone else won’t take anyone very far. Touting this now.
Great minds think alike! I totally agree on the trends topic! Thanks for stopping by!
this was really great Amy! love all the tips about building a community. i think blogging has become less and less about that, and it needs to circle back and become that once again.
I totally agree! It has changed hasn’t it? I would love to get back to the “olden” days of blogging! We just need to make it happen! xo
Lovin these tips you awesome gals have put together! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us! Jenna @ Rain on a Tin Roof

I was really kicking myself for not attending your session, even more so after hearing all of the buzz from the people who did attend. I cannot tell you how thankful I am that you are sharing it! Heading over to visit Desiree and Sarah, and closing my email window. :)
haha! Too many great classes to choose from. I really wanted to go to the Google+ class but had to do my class LOL! Happy to share it! :)
I was so bummed when I had to choose between your class and another one! Thankfully, my roomies went to your class and shared their notes with me. Thanks for posting all of this here on your blog too. It is so helpful for someone, like me, who is trying to grow their blog :)

You are welcome Kristin! I hope you were able to learn a few things. I am always happy to help if you have any questions. I remember having many questions when I was first starting out…and actually still do! :)
Thanks so much Amy. I know this is an older article, but I am finding it very useful. I recently had another blog share one of my posts and my daily views spiked from 40 to 4000 so I am focused on trying to figure out how to drive traffic to my site. I came across this article during my research and I really appreciate it. Thanks again
