Father’s Day Gift –He’s One Smart Cookie

I have another really simple Father’s Day Gift idea to share with you today!  I love anything that you can personalize.  I feel like it makes a gift a little more EXTRA special.  Like you added some simple details to make it unique and personal.

I simply took some Glassine Bags and printed this simple image on them individually.  I picked up the bags from a local shop that sells these amazing cookies and they sold me a few bags for .25 cents.

To print onto the bags, simply tape your Glassine Bags onto a piece of computer paper.  I have a free printable that you can print.  This shows you where to tape your bag so that you can center it and see where the image will print.  Place your bag where you want the picture to be.  I printed some right in the middle and then some a bit lower so I could fold down the top and add a little Father’s Day Tie.  For best results you will want to use a laser printer.

I also have printables customized for the older Father’s and Father figures in our lives…such as Grandpa and Papa!  Need a blank one?  I have provided a blank one as well so that you can give these to a teacher, a friend, a neighbor…really any one who needs a little surprise pick me up gift!

You could also surprise you kids with one of these on their last day of school to celebrate!  I usually try to welcome the kids home on that last day with some warm cookies and milk and am thinking it would be fun to slip the cookies in these baggies for each of them.  And, speaking of the last day of school…we are down to the final days here and we couldn’t be more excited!!

What about you? Are you almost finished with school at your house?

CRE8TIME Movement–Easter Craft

Back in August I had the opportunity to head out to Dallas, TX and spent some time with some of the amazing people that work with Michaels.  They are so creative and so much fun and we had a good time creating together.  While there we were able to participate in the Michaels Leadership Conference and Holiday Show.  We also met the CEO of the Craft & Hobby Association, Andrej Suskavcevic, who shared with us an amazing campaign called CRE8TIME.

CRE8TIME

CRE8TIME is a movement, a movement supported by a group of people who want to make a positive social change. As our lives become increasingly crowded with “responsibilities,” we tend to ignore ourselves and find it difficult to justify creative pursuits; they seem “selfish” and are often the first things we discard.  It’s time to reclaim our creativity!  CRE8TIME is a movement, a movement supported by a group of people who want to make a positive social change.  It is designed to help people recover eight hours a month and devote it to their particular craft, and to create a place for them to share their experiences – the joys, lessons, and results – with the creative community at large.  Learn more about CRE8TIME in this video.

Now, I tend to spend a lot of my time creating, so finding myself creating for an hour a day is not unusual.  It helps that I am a creative blogger by trade.  But what about you? Do you find time to create in your lives?  I know that most of you LOVE to create, which is why you may find yourself here…on my site.  How does being creative make you feel?  For me, creativity is a way to unwind and relax.  A way for me to connect with who I am outside of all of the other roles I find myself in.

As part of the CRE8TIME project and my partnership with Michael’s, I came up with a project that I would like to be able to share with you.  And, if you are interested, hopefully this project will help you to be able to find some time to add some creativity to your life if you are not already doing so.  Tomorrow I will share with you the printable pattern, photo tutorial, and the cookie recipe I used so that you can make some too.
