Easter Candy Bark

Easter is right around the corner and I have a quick and easy Easter treat that you can make in minutes and makes a great addition to your festive Easter food.  Chocolate Bark is so easy to make and tastes so good.  I have shared a few other Chocolate Bark candy ideas over the years.  If you have been following along for a while you might remember some of them: Peppermint Bark, Candy Corn Bark, and Oreo Bark.

The thing I love about Bark Candy is that is looks a lot fancier than it really is to make.  And they make a great and easy gift that most people might enjoy receiving.  I simply melted some white chocolate.  I love to use Ghiradelli white chocolate.  Just melt it in a microwaveable bowl on 20 second intervals so you do not burn it, and stir between each cycle.

Then simply pour your melted chocolate onto a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan covered with wax or parchment paper.   Sprinkle your Easter candy over the melted chocolate and let it cool and harden.  Break into small pieces and then package up and give it away!

Or serve it as part of your Easter Dessert table.  Either way…you will love how festive, fun and easy this Easter food is to make.  Have you ever made a bark candy?

I have a fantastic giveaway that was planned for today…but we had some technical issues so I will be sharing that one later this week when we get them resolved.  So…I am sharing this fun and simple Easter Printable that I had planned on sharing with you Friday.

Are you a cotton candy fan?  I am not a huge fan of it…but when the kids get some at the Amusement Park I always tend to grab a small bite for old times sake.  As it reminds me of my childhood.

When I spied a little package of Cotton Candy in the Easter Candy Aisle I realized they would be perfect as Easter Bunny Tails.  And with my new found printable obsession…I wanted to make them for a simple Easter gift idea.

Easter

The particular Cotton Candy I used was in a Hello-Kitty pink package.  But I have seen Cotton Candy in various forms in a lot of other stores like Wal-Mart and Fresh Market Stores.

Simply print out the Easter Bunny Cotton Tail Bag Toppers and attach them to your bagged Cotton Candy and you are good to go.  I used the larger gift bags that are about 4 inches in width.  So these tags will fit those bags perfectly.  If you can’t find that size of bag, you can print these at a smaller size to fit your needs.

Please read directions here before trying to get access to the printable.  I have a lot of people asking me how to get them.

You will need to go through my FB page to gain access to them.  If you are not a fan of The Idea Room, you will need to like the page first and then click on {Previous Downloads} to gain access to the printables.

Easter Cookie Envelope

Yesterday I shared with you this Easter Cookie Gift Bag that I made as part of the CRE8TIME Creativity Movement.  We are encouraged to be creative for an hour a day for 8 days in a row.  If you missed that you can read more about that in yesterday’s post: CRE8TIME Easter Gift Idea.  Today I sharing how I made it and offering you some free Easter printables.

Today I am sharing with you how to make some of these for yourself so that you can use them to be creative and to share your creativity with others.  They are really simple to make.  I love to give gifts that come in pretty packages.

Sometimes the easiest way to get exactly what you want is to make it.  I found all the supplies I needed to make this project at Michael’s, who I partnered with in this project.

I took a  photo of the paper I used just in case some of you are interested in the names and Brands.  I also purchased some Vellum so that you could see the cookie inside of the cookie envelope.  I came up with a pattern for the cookie bag and then cut out the paper using two different coordinating patterns for the front and back of the envelope.

I glued the cookie envelope together with a glue stick and put the flaps on the inside of the envelope.  And I glued the square of Vellum on the inside of the front of the envelope.

I have provided the pattern for your use if you would like.  Simply click on the image of the pattern and you will be taken to the free pdf download to print.  It also comes with the pattern for you to make this Easter Bunny head that I attached to the top of the bag with a mini clothes pin.  The bunny nose is a black brad that you can find in the scrapbook supply aisle.

Then I cut out a simple banner and added some black letter stickers to spell out the words Hoppy (or Happy) Easter.  I attached them to a string and then attached that to the insides of the envelope through a tiny hole.

For the “hoppy” I simply cut out a 1.5 inch circle and then a 2 inch scalloped circle with some paper punches, which I then attached to the envelope.

You can fold the top of the envelope over the top or tuck it in like I did.

Then simply slip in your favorite cookie.  I made my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe and added in some crushed Cadbury Mini Eggs…I know!

My family raved about how great the cookies were.  And I would have to say that I am sure they were amazing…but unfortunately I am unable to eat them any more due to my food allergies (womp womp).

Give them away to your favorite people if you are able to stop yourself from eating all the cookies.  At any rate…get your creativity on and join the CRE8TIME Movement.
