Father’s Day Iron Man Shirt

*This is a collaboration with Cricut.  However all opinions and statements are mine and mine alone.

My son is a bit of a science geek AND an athlete (which is a pretty good combination in my mind).  I thought it would be fun to make a shirt that would be a fun little play on words and involved some science humor.  This would also make a fun Father’s Day gift idea that is unique and different.  And, with the popularity of the movie Iron Man right now, this shirt iron on decal could be used for several different things.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the Periodic Table, the Fe in the square box is the Symbol for the element Iron.  Then we added a symbol to represent a man.  So you have “Iron Man”.  Although my daughter was quick to point out that it could also represent “Fe–Male” which my son was not amused to hear.  Haha!!

I have partnered with Cricut to make this shirt and so it is available as a “Make It Now” project on their site.  All you have to do is click a button and you can cut it out on your Cricut Machine on your favorite Iron On Transfer Material and then iron it on to your shirt.  Don’t forget to cut it in a mirror image if you are going to be cutting it our to iron on an article of clothing.  There are more detailed instructions on the “Make It Now” Project at Cricut.com.  The pattern is available for purchase for .99 cents.

If you would like to make you simply click on the button below.

You could also cut it out in a vinyl and use it on a display plaque if you want to use it in a decor type of situation.  Maybe for someone who has completed an Iron Man race or competition, or for your nerdy friend to go in a dorm room.

Father’s Day Printables

I don’t normally decorate for Father’s Day, but I have been enjoying adding some little touches of holiday decor on our entry way table.  It is nice to have one little spot that I can add a few easy decor items to that don’t take a lot of time and energy.  Especially during the month of May.  Anyone else feel like May is crazy insane?

I thought it would be fun to add a touch of Father’s Day decor in the home to celebrate my kids dad.  He works so hard for our family and is always willing to spend time working and playing with the kids.  We are so lucky to have him.

I came up with a couple of Father’s Day Printables that can be easily printed out and placed in an 8×10 picture frame.  I made the first one and then came across a quote from Billy Graham that I had heard before but forgotten.  I really wanted to display it in our home…so I get to share both of them with you.

I shopped the house and added this picture of my husband and his two boys playing in the ocean, which is one of their favorite things to do with one another.  I also added a willow tree figurine that we had in the boys room of a father and his child.

Father’s Day Gift Ideas and Printables

Hey guys…just a few more days before Father’s Day.  I have a few more simple but fun Father’s Day Printables for you if you are still looking for a simple gift idea.

I picked up a package of “Pop-Its” from Wal-Mart.  Now, I normally don’t shop at Wal-Mart…not for any particular reason…other than the fact that the lines and service in mine drive me batty…and I prefer to go to Target…cause you know…I love me some Target.  But anyways…if you want to get the exact ones I got…you can find them in the seasonal section at Wal-Mart.

I simply wrapped a white piece of paper around them and then simply stuck this Father’s Day Printable on it.  If you want to dress it up a bit more, add some fun scrapbook paper.

Or…Grab your Father’s favorite soda…and then wrap this printable around the neck of the bottle…or cut it out and wrap it around the middle of the bottle to make a label for the drink.

And finally, you could grab some Pop Rocks and add the fun label to a single package…or bundle a few together and give them to your Pop!

I have seen these Pop Rocks at Target and at the Dollar Store.  I picked mine up at the dollar store since they sell three in a package for one dollar.

There was another option that I had thought would be fun to add the same tag too if you prefer to stay away from the sugary treats…Simply grab a bottle of your favorite popcorn kernels or a bag of microwave popcorn and add the label to it for a healthier gift for Dear Old Dad!

Whatever way you decide to go…these make a simple and easy way to show your Pop you care!

I like jars.  Have you noticed? haha!  I can’t help it.  My brain just keeps going there…so I apologize in advance.  But…if you happen to adore jars as much as I do…then you might want to read on.

Father’s Day is quickly approaching.  I always like to try to come up with a simple and easy to re-create gift idea for each holiday and these Father’s Day Tie Bottles fit the bill this year.

The bottles are recycled Starbucks Frappucino bottles that have been washed clean and dried.  Then simply fill with your Father’s favorite candy and add the printable tie with a piece of string.

If you want to take it a step further, you can print out these fun Father’s Day Hershey’s Kiss Printable “stickers” to glue onto the bottom of some chocolate kisses or hugs candy.  These are a super fun and easy way to add some uniqueness to your Father’s Day Gift.

These are so easy, you will want to make them for all the father figures in your life.  Or use them so a church group or school group can make them for their own fathers.
