Halloween Oreos—Mummy Treats

Do you need another ideas for some fun Halloween Snacks? Today I am sharing my newest version of Halloween Oreos today!  This time, I decided to make some Mummy Treats.  I actually have two more versions of these Halloween Oreos to share with you and those will be coming later this week.  It has been all about the Double Stuft Oreos around here lately.  Then I promise not to post any more…for a while that is.

Halloween-Oreo-Mummies

Just like the others, these are pretty simple to make and don’t require anything special.

Just the following ingredients are needed:

Double Stuft Oreos

popsicle sticks {or sucker sticks}

white chocolate {melted}

mini chocolate chips

Oreo-Mummies

Simply place the sticks in between the two layers of cookie.  Dip the Oreos into the melted chocolate.  Instead of dipping, I tend to spoon it onto the Oreos paying close attention to completely covering where the cookie and the stick come together.  This will ensure the cookies stay together and don’t fall off of the stick.

Lay the completely chocolate covered Oreos onto some wax paper and add some mini chocolate chips for the eyes.  I will sometimes cut the pointy tip off of the mini chocolate chips with my kitchen shears so that the eye will lay flat on the Oreos.

Let them harden by popping them into the freezer for a few minutes.  While they are firming up, fill a small plastic baggy with some melted chocolate and cut the end of one of the bottom corners of the bag off.  Use the bag to pipe thin lines of chocolate over the mummy to give him some three dimensional bandage wraps.

Pop them back into the freezer until ready to serve or package up for a fun little treat.

Share with your friends or add them to your party table for your guests to enjoy.

Rice Krispie Bar—Halloween Ghosts

Do you still need a quick and easy Halloween treat for a classroom party or to give out to your friends and family? Whip up some of these super easy and super adorable Rice Krispie Bar Treats in the shapes of Halloween Ghosts.  A fun and easy twist on the ever popular Rice Krispie Treats. And…it’s on a stick!! You know how much I love that!

Halloween-Snacks

Now, I wish I could take credit for these cute treats…but I can’t.  My super creative neighbor (you know who you are Smile) is my daughter’s church activity day leader and she made these for a fun Father and Daughter Halloween Party earlier this week.  Luckily I have trained my family well enough to know they can NOT eat the treats until mom gets a picture of it…sad but true!

Halloween-Party-Treats

To make them you will just need to whip up a batch of Rice Krispie Treats.  The recipe is on the back of the box of Rice Krispies.  Or you can find the original recipe for Rice Krispie Treats on Rice Krispies.com.  Spread them out into a jelly roll pan so they are fairly flat.  You will also be able to get more ghosts this way.  Take a cookie cutter shaped like a tombstone and cut out the ghosts as close to one another as possible when the Rice Krispies have cooled a bit but are not hard.  Transfer each ghost to wax paper and insert a sucker stick into the bottom of the ghost.  Let them fully harden.

Then dip the tops of each ghost into some melted white chocolate or almond bark and add a couple of mini chocolate chips for the eyes.  Let the chocolate harden before wrapping up or serving.  Aren’t they so much fun?  Go ahead and make some for yourself.  I think I found the perfect treat to take to my son’s class for his birthday treat next week!

Thanks H!!

Halloween Desserts—Pumpkin Oreo Pops

Ummm…yep…another version my of Oreo Pops for some fun Halloween Snacks and party ideas.  This time we made some Halloween Pumpkin Oreo Pops.

Halloween-recipes

Here are the supplies you will need to make them:

Wilton Candy Melts in Orange and Green

Double Stuff Oreos

Black Licorice (or Pretzel Sticks)

Popsicle Sticks

Mini Chocolate Chips

Stick the popsicle sticks in between the two cookie layers of the Oreos and set them aside on some wax paper.  Melt your orange candy melts in the microwave in 20 second intervals until it is melted to a smooth and creamy consistency. Now “dip” the Oreos into the orange candy melts. I don’t actually dip them but rather take a spoon and smooth it onto the front of the Oreos.  Then smooth the candy melt around the sides and onto the back of the Oreo. Be sure to do around the stick very well as this will be sure to hold them together when they have hardened.  Lay them onto the wax paper and add some mini chocolate chips for the eyes and the mouth.  Then to make the stem, I cut a piece of black licorice…but you could also use a pretzel stick.  Then pop in the freezer for a few minutes.

Melt the green candy melts and then take the pops out of the freezer and add some leaves onto your pumpkins.  I just drizzled a little leaf shape on the top.  Pop them back into the freezer.  After 20 minutes, they should be ready to share!
