Hey friends! Brooke here from All Things Thrifty and I am thrilled to be guest posting today! Amy is a really great friend of mine and can I just say that she is just as amazing in real life as you would imagine?! She is crazy talented too. {Which hello, you totally know!} Sooooo on that note…
School is out in our neck of the woods {which would be southern Utah} and we’ve actually been out for about a week now. All over the state of Utah, there is a big campaign going on. An idea which I am a huge supporter of. It’s called “Play Unplugged”. We don’t have video games at our house but we do have tablets and if I didn’t regulate, the kids would be on them all. the. time. The idea is to get local businesses involved and when certain “activities”are completed then they can go to said business and pick up a “tag”. It’s great incentive for the kiddos! They love checking things off and then adding the tags to their lanyard.
Here’s my spin: an unplugged punch card. Each kiddo gets their own and as they {or all of you} complete the activities, they get to punch their card! The best part? You don’t have to drive anywhere extra! ;-) Well, maybe just to Costco to pick up these prints!
There are 3 free printable versions. One is a 4×4 which will print on 4×6 with a couple inches that you’ll need to cut off. The second one is 4×6 with the checklist on top {that I would also cut off but just use a reference guide}, and the third is a true 4X4 printable for those that may be printing at home.
I tried to keep the activities as free and cheap as possible because when you have 4 kiddos home like I do, things can get pricey.
I hope that these are useful for you because summer can get a little stressful if you don’t have some fun things in mind! I may be speaking from experience! ;-)
Thanks again for having me!
xoxo
Brooke

Thank you Amy! Great ideas! I would like to know how you keep your kids busy throughout the day without given in and letting them use the tablet/computer?

We struggle with this at our house like everyone else I am sure. My kids do have daily chores. They are not allowed any screen time until they are finished. I also try to have them do alternate activities, but will allow 1-2 hours of screen time a day if we are having a slow day or mom and the kids need some down time :).
Try as I might, I cannot find a ‘share’ feature to post this to Facebook. Am I blind, drunk, (blind drunk), or is it hidden somewhere?
They are usually at the bottom of the posts. Let me look into it and see if the widget stopped working.
