Serve up these fun Heart Shaped Tomatoes for Valentine’s Day this year. They are so easy to make and add some colorful fun to your Valentine’s Day Salad.
I also shredded a couple of long carrots into a heart shape and then sliced them and tossed them into a green salad. They could not be easier to make. All I did to make the heart carrots was peel the carrot.
After slicing off the ends, I took the top of my vegetable peeler and drug the tip of it along one side of the carrot. It dug a trough off of the carrot. Then I sliced the carrot into slices and shaped the bottom into a point by cutting off a little of each side.
To make the heart shaped tomatoes, I simply took some grape tomatoes and cut off about 1/4 of the tomato at about a 45 degree angle. This part you will just need to eyeball and see how and where to cut your tomato so that when two are placed together, they will form a heart. Then I took a toothpick and some cut pieces of paper to make an arrow to pierce the tomato. Glue the “quiver” of the arrow to the end of the toothpick.
Serve them up with your favorite Salad and Salad Dressing! Your friends and family and especially your significant other will enjoy the festive holiday touch!
