MACAROONS VS. MACARONS
What is the difference between macaroons and macarons?
If you found yourself asking this question, don’t worry–you are not alone. It is a very common question and I even found myself asking this question.
A macaron (pronounced mac-ah-rohn) is a sweet meringue-based sandwich cookie made with almond flour, egg whites, confections’ sugar, and food coloring. Common fillings include buttercream, ganache, and fruit-based jam.
A macaroon (pronounced mac-uh-roon), on the other hand, is a drop cookie made with shredded coconut, egg whites, sugar, and other flavorings (like vanilla extract). They are usually shaped in little mounds and have a chewy texture.

COCONUT MACAROONS
These macaroons are especially good dipped in chocolate. You obviously can leave that step out if you prefer to have the macaroons without it…but I think it adds the perfect amount of chocolate to pair with the coconut.
Make them for your next get together and they are sure to be a hit with the entire group.
