T minus a few days till the DIY Blogger House is revealed and entered into the Parade of Homes. Most of you are familiar with me sharing my involvement in helping to design and decorate this home along with some other bloggers:
Shelley Smith- The House of Smiths
Jen Hadfield- Tatertots and Jello
Lara Garner- Less Cake {More Frosting}
Char Coester- Crap I’ve Made
an Interior Designer (Brian), Daybreak UT, and Bangerter Homes. You can read more about the earlier details here and here.
We are down to the finishing touches on the inside. I am heading over to the house tomorrow to completely finish off the two areas I designed, the laundry room and the mud room.
I have been running around like a mad woman trying to get every last detail finished up.
I have pretty much looked like this the last couple of days…and please ignore the mess behind me…the mess means that there is some creative genius happening…haha!
Laundry Room
Mud Room
We were given a very small budget to complete our room(s) with. But we are DIY’ers (totally not a word but I am going with it) so it was fun to have a bit of a challenge.
I also teamed up with Homes.com who is helping the bloggers with some of their projects for the home. I was able to work with them and come up with some of my feature projects for each room. I have worked with Homes.com before and finally was able to meet some of them face to face at SNAP! this past April.
I can’t officially reveal what I have done or what the inside of the home looks like yet…the Grand Opening Kick Off Party is going to be August 1st. And then the home will be open to the public during the official Parade of Homes Tour. You can find more information about that on the Salt Lake City Parade of Homes website. But, the official dates are below:
August 3rd-August 18th
Open 12:00pm – 8:00pm
Tickets $12 each / Discount Tickets Will Be Available July 1-August 18, 2012
I can share with you a few “sneak peeks” of some of the items I have been feverishly working on and creating to fill my space.
I am stoked about being able to work out this fun barn door that is part of one of my rooms…and the color is amazing!
I am super excited about how everything is coming along. And for those of you who are unable to see the house in person…no worries, I will be able to share pictures with you here in just a few weeks!
Any guesses on to what some of the items may be? Any of you locals planning on participating in the Parade of Homes? I would love to be able to meet some of you! I will let you know when I am planning on being there!

I love your blog but because of my busy schedule, haven’t been able to read in quite a while. If you ever had the subscribe by email button, could you let me know? It’s the easiest way for me to keep up with blogs.

You are so lucky to be involved in that project! How much fun it must be! I actually wish my laundry room looked like that, then I could start from the basics rather than having to rip out! I don’t live in your area so will wait with bated breath to see pictures!

Squee! I’m so excited to see this in real life!

Such a great project! I drive by it on the way to where they are building my house and I am amazed at how fast it went up and how gorgeous it is. In your post you mentioned discount tickets. Where do you get them and where can you buy the tickets besides online? Thanks for the great blog too! ~jen

Just had a “real-life” moment – I follow your blog and knew you were working on this project but today it just clicked when you posted today’s pics – we are building right around the corner from this house so I drive by it everyday on the way to check progress on our place – small world. Can’t wait to see it!

The house is so amazing! You guys have done such an incredible job and have given me so many ideas for my new home. You mentioned that you had a small budget. If you are able to share what that budget was, that would be great!
