Brazilian Lemonade is actually a delicious limeade that is the perfect combination of tangy and sweet. This lemonade recipe is the perfect summer drink recipe for a hot summer day!
BRAZILIAN LEMONADE RECIPE
I am so excited to share this delicious Brazilian Lemonade with you today! This is by far one of my favorite drinks…we make it on special occasions…both the frozen and non-frozen version…but I think it tastes better frozen. These are non-alcoholic because I don’t drink alcohol, but they can be easily adapted if you want to add something for yourself. Sometimes people call this drink Brazilian Limeade, but even though it is made with Limes, in Brazil it is known as Brazilian Lemonade.
LEMONADE
Real Brazilian Lemonade will use an entire can of sweetened condensed milk. That might sound excessive, but because you will grind up the rinds of the limes in your drink, this makes it so the drink is not too sweet!
HOW TO MAKE FROZEN LEMONADE
SUPPLIES:
- Blendtec Blender
- Mason Jars Pint Size
- Beverage Dispenser
- Mason Jar Beverage Dispenser
- Pebble Ice Maker
- Rainbow Paper Straws
- Drink Umbrellas
- Drink Glasses
- Produce Wash
Be sure to use limes that are fresh and ripe. Another trick to prevent bitterness is to blend the limes and water for only 10 seconds. Ten seconds is enough time to extract the juice and some of the bitterness from the peel. And, even though we are leaving the peel on some of the limes, be sure to cut out the white part from the inside. This will make the drink a little too bitter.
You will be using Fresh Limes for this. Try to pick limes that are thin skinned and juicy. These tend to be sweeter and give you a sweeter drink, the thick skinned limes tend to be a bit more bitter. You will also be using the entire lime…so you will need to have a very high-powered blender so you don’t burn up the motor. Be sure to thoroughly wash your limes to remove dirt and pesticides from the skin of the lime.
You will need about 40 medium size ice cubes. I used the cubes from my automatic ice maker in my refrigerator. So you may have to experiment a little bit to see what size your ice cubes are. Try adding in fewer ice cubes and then add more if needed.

I am just curious why we are calling this a Frozen Lemonade as per the recipe- there are no lemons in it. Can it not be called a Frozen Brazilian Limeade and be more accurate?
The Idea Room Assistant says
You would think that Limeade would make more sense but Frozen Brazilian Lemonade is what people call it.
Hi:) I think I might know why.
In Latinamerica we call “lemons”, what you call limes. Your lemons are “yellow lemons” for us. The green ones (as the ones this recipe callas for) are just “lemons”. So this is “limonada brasileña” for us. Lemonade :)
