Today I am sharing how to make these simple Wood Slice Photo Coasters. These are not a new project as they have been around for a while, but I have always wanted to make some. I think they are so fun and unique and make a great but practical gift idea. And if you need a last minute gift idea these can be whipped up quickly!
I participated in a fun little gift exchange with a group of bloggers and Cricut. I was given a blogger whom I was unfamiliar with but was so excited to be able to get to know a little bit better. When I began surfing through her blog and her social media accounts I quickly realized what an amazing gift for photography she had.
She recently posted some beautiful photos of her family vacation and I KNEW I had to use them in some way. Then I remembered these photo coasters…I hope she loves them!
I simply downloaded her pics and saved them. I uploaded the images into my Cricut explore and then used the Print Then Cut feature so that the images were in a circle measuring about 3.75 inches. I printed them on white card stock.
If you don’t have a Cricut you can simply print the images Then take something that is a circle and use it as a template to cut the photo into a circle.
Then I took some Matte Finish Mod Podge and glued the pictures to the wood slice. I covered the top of the photos with two coats of the Mod Podge and allowed it to dry between each coat.
I also whipped up this gift tag on the Cricut! So easy! Hopefully she loves them as much as I do! Now I need to make some for my family! Ready to meet this blogger? Be sure to go and give her some love! Jessica from A Southern Mother!! I can’t wait for her to get her gift! Stay tuned for what someone made for me!

Can I ask where you got the wood slices? I’ve been looking for some for crafts like this and am having a hard time finding them! I live in AZ so we don’t have access to our own trees or anything, LOL!

Michaels sells them.
I’m also wondering where to get the wood rounds at? Thanks!
