If you have been following me for the past couple of years…then you know how much I enjoy my Silhouette CAMEO.  I have used it SEVERAL times on all sorts of different home décor and crafting projects in and around my house.

silhouette-portrait-giveaway

Well, Silhouette has come up with a smaller version of the CAMEO with all of the same great features.  I can’t even begin to tell you how happy this makes me!  The Silhouette Portrait weighs only 3.5 pounds which makes it perfect for a girls craft night out…or a trip to your friend’s house for a fun project, the Portrait can be carried easily wherever you  may need to go.

The machine also has the ability to register and cut printed materials.

Contents:

  • Silhouette Portrait™ electronic cutting tool
  • Silhouette Studio® software for Windows XP and higher, and Mac® OS X 10.6.8 and higher
  • 50 exclusive cuttable designs
  • Power cable, USB cable
  • 8″ cutting mat
  • Cutting blade
  • $10 gift card to the Silhouette Online Store
  • Basic Instruction Guide

I’ve been wanting to make a quilt for my girls using my mother’s clothes. Mom passed away 2 years ago and was very close to her grandchildren. I thought I could use the Silhouette Portrait to cut shapes for the quilt. There’s also a Christmas Subway art I pinned online and I would LOVE to do it for gifts and for my own home. I’ve already bought the wood, the paint, and the brushes, but alas….still haven’t been able to get the much desired Silhouette.

I would love to win this Silhouette because my little boys and I LOVE to make greeting cards and other art projects for our family far away, place them in beautiful packages, and mail them off. We think it really brightens someone’s day when they receive a cheery package in the mail with a sweet sentiment ‘just because’. Right now, we use a lot of scrapbook paper and paper cutters, but the three of us would be OVER THE MOON if we won a Silhouette because it means we could take our ‘cheer spreading’ projects to the very next level! We live roughly 700 miles away from our family (and I’m a single mom!) so it’s a very important part of every week for us to let people know we are thinking about them in a beautiful way. Our recipients would be so grateful and impressed with our new projects if we won! (Especially grandma!) Thanks so much for the opportunity & happy holidays!!!

I know I’ll be disqualified coz I don’t live in the US but I just wanted to share that I bought one sometime ago and only got to use it for one project. Then it broke down and I couldn’t get it fixed because there were no service centers here in the UAE. I lost my money and I couldn’t afford to get it shipped back to the US for repairs and then pay again for return shipping. now there are so many projects I wished I could do like making decals for the house or screen printing patterns for some gifts I want to make. Wished silhouette would have a branch here in Dubai soon.

I’ve been posting this comment on most silhouette giveaway posts hoping silhouette America will listen to my pleas…

I think the Silhouette Portrait is the neatest machine; it’s doesn’t take up a lot of room but can do a gazillion things. If I won it, I would start with stencils and vinyl decals for some signs and subway art and some mixed media art I’m working on. I need make labels to use in reorganizing my pantry. It would be great to make ornaments, cards and to use in scrapbooking and altered books.
