Do you decorate for Thanksgiving? I don’t go all out like I do for Christmas, but I do like to have a few Thanksgiving Decorations around to help us focus on the reason why we celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Today I am going to share with you how I made this simple Thanksgiving Sign so that you can make one too.
I took an old framed wall calendar that we don’t use any more and removed the calendar. Then cut a piece of cardboard to fill the space. Then I added a piece of burlap to fit into the frame. Then I cut some black vinyl with this Thanksgiving Definition that I created on my Cricut Explore machine.
I thought about using the vinyl as a reverse stencil and painting the lettering on, but the texture of the burlap was really chunky and I didn’t think that the words would be as crisp as I wanted them to be. I also could have used some black iron on but I didn’t have any on hand and I am not very patient sometimes :)! The vinyl actually stuck very well to the burlap and worked better than I thought it would. I also like how crisp the black letters are on the Thanksgiving Sign.
I have hung the sign in our Living Room and now need to pull out the rest of our Thanksgiving Decor and decorate the fireplace mantle properly…and get the rest of the Halloween Decor put away.
Make one for your home, or make one to give away to your Thanksgiving Hostess or your friends and family! I also think that this Thanksgiving Sign can stay up year round in your home as a great way to remind you to continue to be grateful for all of your blessings.

I love the look of this sign. Just wondered if you caught the spelling of the second word thanksgiving – your g s k are swapped around. Being made of vinyl l, you may have it easy to take the letters off and print new.

Yes! It is missing a G…Gah! LOL! I fixed it and will take new pictures and replace the ones with the mistakes! I must have looked at it a hundred times without realizing it :). Such is life! Thanks!
