SUGAR SCRUB
Looking for another amazing Sugar Scrub Recipe and/or DIY Gift Idea for the Holidays this year? I have a new and amazing Whipped Gingerbread Sugar Scrub Recipe that smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft!
Seriously…this is so good! It smells good enough that you might be tempted to feel the urge to eat it right out of the jar. I mean, you totally could…but it might send you into a sugar coma! Use this to re-energize your tired, dry winter skin!
INGREDIENTS FOR GINGERBREAD BODY SCRUB
- Brown Sugar
- Cane Sugar (or Granulated Sugar)
- Vanilla Extract
- Coconut Oil (not melted)
- Cinnamon (or a few drops cinnamon oil)
- Ginger
- Nutmeg
- Allspice
HOW TO MAKE DIY GINGERBREAD SUGAR SCRUB
- Combine sugars and the solid coconut oil in a medium bowl and beat together with a hand mixer (or a stand mixer).
- Beat together until a smooth paste forms.
- Add in the vanilla and the spices.
- Beat together until mixed well and becomes light and fluffy.
- Scoop out into individual jars with a lid.
HOW TO USE THIS GINGERBREAD SUGAR SCRUB
You can use sugar scrubs in a bath or a shower. Get your skin wet with warm water, then scoop a small amount of scrub into your fingers and scrub your damp or wet skin. You can use your hands, a washcloth or even a scrub loofah to increase the exfoliation. Scrub the skin in a circular motion to cover the entire area. Then rinse the area with warm water to wash away the dead skin cells and excess sugar for smooth and soft exfoliated skin.
If you use a coconut oil in this whipped sugar scrub recipe it tends to get a little harder in the colder weather. But, you will still be able to use it as it melts when it comes in contact with your warm fingers and your warm skin.
HOW TO STORE GINGERBREAD SUGAR SCRUB
This sugar scrub should last up to a month sealed in an air-tight container. Be sure to scoop with clean hands to prevent spreading germs and bacteria.
HOW LONG DOES GINGERBREAD SUGAR SCRUB LAST?
A body scrub with high quality ingredients should last uptimes to 3 months. Keep them sealed in proper containers and don’t introduce bacteria into them with dirty hands. Keep them out of the humidity so the sugar and the oils do not spoil.

WHAT CARRIER OILS CAN I USE FOR SUGAR SCRUBS?
In this recipe I used coconut oil, but any of the following oils work great.
- sweet almond oil
- coconut oil (this oil solidifies at room temperature and will soften when you use it with warm water)
- grapeseed oil
- avocado oil
- nut oils (be careful if gifting this because many people have nut allergies)
- olive oil
- jojoba oil
WHAT SUGARS SHOULD I USE FOR A SUGAR SCRUB?
There are several different types of sugars you can use when making a scrub. The bigger the sugar crystal, the more exfoliation the scrub will provide. I also like to think about the aesthetic when choosing a sugar. You can really pick and choose depending on what you want out of the scrub.
SUPPLIES YOU MAY NEED FOR DIY SUGAR SCRUBS
- large mixing bowl
- food coloring
- mixer
- essential oils
- almond oil
- glass jar or mason jar

Hello!
I love your website and all of your projects. I tried to join your mailing list, but it keeps redirecting me to google mail, which I do not have.
Also I am making your Lavender Sugar Scrub and couple others for xmas gifts for teachers this year. I have downloaded your label, but how do I know which label to buy so that they print correctly and then can be placed on my lids?
Merry Christmas!
Gabriella
I just measure around the lid and cut the labels out. Then glue them on with an Elmers Glue Stick.
Thank you!!!
Co-workers Christmas gifts – check! Making the Whipped Peppermint and Whipped Gingerbread Sugar Scrubs for them. They sound so luxurious. Will you be sharing a printable gingerbread label as well? Please.
I love this! Can you please share where you purchased the container in your photo? It looks like the ideal size for a sugar scrub. Thank you!
I purchased it at Hobby Lobby. Thanks.
Any chance you could post a link to the label? I’m making these last minute for Christmas. Thanks!
Hi. This looks so amazing! I would like to make it as a small Christmas gift this year. But what is all spice powder? I don’t think we have that in the Netherlands… so maybe I can make my own “all spice powder”. Laura
Allspice is a cured, unripe berry from a tropical evergreen tree. Allspice when ground releases aromatic notes reminiscent of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. Hope this helps.Thanks.
You can use grapeseed oil as well.
I just saw this in my email feed. How many jars does it fill/what size jars? Thanks!
Janeen- It fills an 8-10 oz jar. Hope this helps.
Mmm..it smells like a yummy cookie!! Can’t wait to make this for my friends!
