Crisp apples and sweet caramel make such a delicious pair! This Caramel Apple Recipe is so easy to make and is just one of my many favorite foods during the fall season.
In a heavy saucepan combine the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and milk.
Bring to a boil over medium high heat.
Cook and stir until a candy thermometer reads 248 degrees (or a firm ball stage).
Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla.
Dip a clean and dry apple that has been chilled in the fridge into the caramel mixture. (or sliced apples).
Turn to coat the apple.
Dip in other toppings if desired.
Set on a greased piece of parchment or wax paper to harden.
