I am officially in L.O.V.E…
…with an appliance! Yep! It’s true. Santa came early to my house this year. But instead of coming via his sleigh pulled by 8 reindeer, Santy Claus pulled up in his trusty Sears Outlet delivery truck!!!
Being one of the Sears Power Outlet Moms, I was given the opportunity to review a large appliance and I chose to review the Kenmore Elite Ginger Washer. I know…Can you believe it? Excuse me while I scream for joy…{ahhhh!} there…I feel better!
This couldn’t have been better timing for us. My old washer was beginning to make A LOT of noise during it’s washing cycle. Forget about having a conversation in the laundry room while it was in use. I had to shut the door to the laundry room but still could hear it across the house. I knew it wouldn’t be too much longer before it finally bit the dust and in a home with 5 kids, getting behind on laundry even one day is not fun (ya know what I mean?)
My husband and I did quite a bit of research and found a lot of great reviews by other customers on this washer. It was also ranked number 2 in a leading consumer magazine. The Kenmore Elite Ginger normally sells for $1,279.99 and the Sears Outlet price was only $831.93. Go here for a detailed list of the features of the Kenmore Elite Ginger Washer.
Now, I have to tell you, even before I was able to test drive the washer, I had a great experience with the whole Sears Outlet Delivery Service. We live about an hour’s drive from our Sears Outlet store in Orem, Utah. We made arrangements for Sears Outlet to deliver our washer and dryer for a small fee. Love that! We were saved the huge hassle of finding a truck and driving down and picking it up. The Sears Outlet delivery team were so professional. They called us two days before our delivery date just to confirm that they were expected. Then the day before they called to confirm their delivery time and said they would be there at about 12:15 pm. So that morning I was out running errands and got home right about 12:00. Well, there was Santy Claus the Sears Outlet truck waiting for ME! Ummmm…when does that happen? Usually the delivery people give you a 4-5 hour delivery time window and you are stuck at home waiting for them to arrive all.day.long!
They quickly carried in the washer and the matching dryer (which my husband and I bought to go along with our new washer) and set them up. They were so easy to talk to and went over the washer and dryer with me and showed me how everything worked. They also turned them on and ran a quick cycle in both of them to clear out any chemicals and debris that can be left in the machine during the production process.
I have now almost had one week to test out my new machines and I have to tell you that I am in love with them! The first thing I noticed is how QUIET they are. You can barely even hear them running. I also love that the washer and dryer are at the same level so no more awkward bending over to transfer the clothes from the washer to the dryer. They are a bit low though and we were planning on getting the pedestals that match to place them on to make them higher, but our cabinet does not give us enough height clearance for them. So, we plan on making a sturdy platform to raise them up on, so they will be at a better height for my husband and I who are both quite tall. That will give my husband a chance to use his new table saw also from Sears Outlet!
But perhaps my favorite thing has been that my laundry loads have been cut in half! I no longer need to spend all day long running load after load just to get through the laundry that accumulates in my home.
We haven’t had the set long enough to see what kind of savings we are going to have in the use of energy and water, but I know it is going to be better than what it was with our older less efficient washer and dryer. Love it!
I was asked to include a video as part of my review of the Kenmore Elite Ginger Washer. So, of course I said…HECK NO!!! absolutely! I figured that it was the least I could do when I had been gifted such an awesome product to review! So, let’s just pretend I don’t feel totally self concious and just go with it…sound good?

I have to mention all the things i loved in your review!
1) The delivery was not only on time but b4 the appointment- YAY
2) The delivery guy looks super excited to have installed your new washer haa
3) They ran it to clean it out! My delivery ppl (not through sears outlet) actually told me that maybe when my husband returned from Iraq he could hook up my dryer the right way because they had to run. Im serious lol.
4) OMG its beautiful! and it matches the rest of your room.
5) Heels. Enough Said.
Really great review and i am so glad to finally see the face i have been talking to for so long!
Hahaha! "I do it in my high heels cuz it's so enjoyable now." That's even funnier taken out of context. :)
I thought you did an amazing job on your video review. You should do them more often:) I am so envious of your laundry room. Mine looks a lot like yours as far as size, but not in how pretty it is decorated. You truly are amazing. Move to CO so you can mentor me.
I often do my laundry in high heels too – oh wait I never wear heels lol! Great review Amy and I love the colors. Your laundry room is awesome!
Wow! You get to review some pretty awesome products. Currently, I have our dryer duct taped shut at the side so all the air doesn't excape while drying. I dream of a new, efficient dryer, but that cost money. I will say, your's is very pretty so I'll have to put it on my wish list.
Oh I love your shiny new toys and am so happy that you don't have to spend all that time in the laundry room anymore (even though it is beautiful)
Yay for you! We had to get a new washing machine after the 1986 washer we got from my grandma died. We love our Sears appliances! the video was great!
xoxo,
Amy
Why is it that I am SALIVATING over an appliance?!?
Oh man! We have Kenmore Elites (different models…5et or something)that we got about 2.5 years ago and they are DIVINE. Especially if you have a lot of kids. LOL!
Idk but I love your laundry room!! I have new front loads I got last year and love them!
I've had my sears washer and dryer for 10 yrs, they are going strong.
These look great!
Darn tear up my old washer & dryer so I can get new ones:)
Amy you are so much fun! I'm still a renter (does it ever end???) and posts like these make me pine away for silly things like a ROOM for laundry! Great vid :)
Oh come on now…high heels but no pearls?? :) I am so jealous that you got that washer! I'll bet it's amazing. It's now on my (yeah right) wish list!
I just stumbled on your blog and I LOVE IT!!!!
That is a totally awesome delivery guy, and experience! Your laundry room is the kind of thing I dream about.
New to your blog, but as the wife of a former cabinet maker, it looks like you could simply move your upper cabinets up and have room for the pedestals (which are storage drawers). I have LG red washer and dryer and having a fun color certainly makes laundry a more fun chore.
Wow I love this washer and dryer. Its so sleek looking and I also love that with it you will no longer have a messy soap area.
By the way you have such a nice laundry room :)
