Regarding #25 – I wash my towels with hot water, regular amount of detergent, plus one cup of baking soda, then one cup of vinegar in the final rinse. This formula also works for removing the smell of cat pee – set a timer to soak your load for 15-30 minutes.

Amy, I’ve really appreciated the cleaning tips you’ve given us. I’ve always struggled with cleaning my kitchen’s granite countertops. I’ll follow your suggestion and use isopropyl alcohol as a cleaning agent! Do you have any tips on cleaning toilets?

I don’t know why I never thought of using this trick for organizing sheet sets. These are all great ideas. Cleaning grout is usually the last thing on the list of things I want to do, but as the picture shows, it makes a huge difference. Funny how simple tricks can make your home cleaning experience so much more effective and enjoyable. Thanks for the article!

Thanks for the information! I especially like your tip about using citrus fruit as a cleaner; does it really do that good of a job? It seems like it would. I just want to make sure that my children are safe from any chemicals. What do you think about hiring a professional cleaning company? They tend to use safe chemicals as well.

Nice tips for keeping place clean! I’m a “green” maniac and I want to be a good example for my children! It is very important to use natural products when you have kids and…pets! And I like when my products are not only cheap but also very effective! Best wishes!

These are some really good ideas for cleaning my apartment. My apartment landlord has cleaning checks every few months and I”ll have to try some of these. Especially the tips about making the smell good so that it might trick my landlord just a little bit! Thanks for this great list of tips and ideas!
Love the tips listed here. All excellent cleaning tips that should be beneficial for a long time to come. I will have to try several of these out and report back how they worked out. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Extremely interesting usage of natural products. I love to know more cleaning ways and ideas. Since I am jobless the only thing I do is to clean the house.
These are all fantastic. So many of these I have never heard of before. I will be busy this weekend. Thank you, thank you!
Thanks! I need to clean a couple of windows and my cookies sheets.
I was interested in the post about dog odors. I was very disappointed to find it was just advertising her book. I understand about needing to advertise but in this case I felt mislead. She might have better interested me in buying her book with a good household hint, as it is I dont want to support her.
Sorry that you were disappointed.
Sure this is a lot of cleaning tips! Thanks! You don’t know but I just started my week of cleaning our house wholly so these tips are of great help to me. :)
Great. Thank You!
Thanks for the tips! For me the biggest hurdle to cleaning is clearing the clutter so that I CAN clean! My sister introduced me to the book “the life changing magic of tidying up” – wow, it has been an incredible blessing.
Sounds like a great book. I will have to look into that one.
I really like the idea of using vinegar and hot water for cleaning the shower head. I think that is really a great way to remove water build up. I am glad that there are many different cleaning tips I could try.
Glad you find these useful. Thanks!
These are some really helpful things to know when you are trying to keep you house clean. I like the idea of knowing that vinegar can be a very powerful cleaning tool. It seems like if you have a hard time cleaning your house it would be smart to have a professional do it for you.
So glad you enjoyed this post!
Learned some expert and fantastic tips for cleaning that I will apply my home. So, really thank you so much and waiting for more like this one.
Great! So happy you found this post useful!
Red Wine Stain on carpet tip! There are a number of ways to do it, but we think the most effective (and eco-friendly) way is to use baking soda (a natural stain remover) and white vinegar (a natural deodoriser).
Great tip. Thanks.
It was really cool to see them use fruits and natural things to create cleaners. Are there directions to make these cleaners. How much does it cost to make.
Awesome! I’m planning to have a general cleaning on my home on sunday and this list of cleaning tips gives me a lot of help! thanks for sharing!
That’s great! Thanks for following along!
I made the DIY Citrus Vinegar Cleaner. Can’t wait to try it.
Is it really sad that I already do all of the above? I’ve even invested in an air purifier to make our home even more clean haha.
I had no idea that mixing citrus juice and vinegar can help get off nasty stains. It does seem like a good thing to be aware o when you need to clean your home well. I have been having a hard time keeping my home clean lately. I wonder if hiring a home cleaning service will help me keep my home clean.
Ivy-Me too. It is hard to keep up with everything!
Thanks for telling us these superb cleaning tips. Loved it.
William- So happy you found these useful!
The shower head cleaning tip is definitely something I can see myself using next time I go to my parent’s house. I hate showering there because their shower head is always super dirty. Ill surprise them with something like this maybe.
Andrea- It works great. Hope they like the surprise!
Yup, I hate clutter and yet I have so much of it. So, I can totally use all the help I can get and can’t thank you enough for the awesome tips and giveaway, too!!
Mildred- Glad you found this post helpful!
You made a good point that window cleaning is not just about the glass but also about the tracks as well in the case of sliding variants. I will be living with my parents for the whole of December this year so I can imagine how hectic the spring cleaning would be. Maybe hiring window cleaning services would be a good way to lessen my burden.
Alice- Yes, the tracks are a pain to clean but once they are done it feels so good!
