Valentines Day Gift—I Chews YOu!

I have an entire week of some simple Valentine’s Day Gifts ideas and free printables to go with them coming up!  I meant to get this up sooner…but had to deal with a frozen pipe under my kitchen sink today.  Good news is, we were able to slowly thaw the frozen line and so far things look like a disaster has been averted. Thank goodness!

Valentines-Day

Last week I shared with you a couple other Valentine’s Day gift ideas…Crush Valentines Gifts and the Sealed with a Kiss Valentines gift ideas.

I have been having a lot of fun lately playing around with and making labels…so don’t be surprised when you see them popping up here this week.  I promise to stop shortly though, cause I have a recent project that I made for my son’s room recently that I am super excited about!

Sealed With a Kiss—Valentine’s Day Gift

My kids are wondering why we have so much junk food around the house right now…especially when they can’t eat it ;)!  I told you I was going a little crazy around here this year for Valentine’s Day!  Unfortunately I can no longer eat this either…but that doesn’t mean I can’t wrap it up these cute homemade valentines and give them away in pretty packages…right?

valentines-gift-idea

I love gifts that have cute packaging.  Now, I must admit, sometimes I just wrap up a gift in wrapping paper or throw it in a gift bag, cause really…who has time for this sometimes!  But on special occasions, I like to actually take a little time and make something extra special!

Sealed with a Kiss-02

To make this “kiss stickers” simply download and print out this free printable.  Click on the image.  This will take you to my FB page.

You must be a fan to gain access to the file.  Then click on Previous Downloads.  This should take you right to the labels.

You can print this onto printable sticker paper if you want to be extra fancy.  But…I didn’t do that.  First of all I was too lazy to actually search out where to buy the sticker paper…and secondly, a glue stick works perfectly.  And I have lots of kidlets who LOVE helping with this kind of stuff!  Gives them something to do other than watch Barbie’s Rapunzel for the 30th time since Christmas Break started….*ahem*!

Cut the paper into strips and then punch out each circle with a 3/4 inch paper punch.  I used my EK Success punch.  It is the perfect size for the bottom of the Hershey Kisses.

I LOVE this clear plastic box.  I found mine at my local craft store, Bennion Crafts.  You should be able to find them pretty easily.  But…if you can’t find them or don’t want to drag your kids out to the store…you can simply use a cellophane gift bag…which unfortunately, is sold right next to the clear gift boxes :)  Or, in a real life scenario…on the morning of Valentine’s Day, you can throw them into a gift bag!

So…I guess that’s it!  I feel like I am starving…and I can’t look at these pictures of chocolate that I am not supposed to eat according to my newly diagnosed food allergies…and I only ate thirteen err two!  I will give up chocolate tomorrow!

Homemade Valentines–Crush Bottles

I’ll admit…I am looking forward to Valentine’s Day this year.  Last year we were right in the middle of our Kitchen Remodel and so, as you can imagine, we were in a huge mess of dust and chaos.  The Valentine’s Day decorations and homemade Valentines didn’t make much of an appearance.

Well this year I am hoping to make up for it.  There are so many fun ideas out there that I was excited to get busy creating.  This crush bottle is not a new idea and I have seen some really cute versions floating around the web.  I just LOVED the idea of using the CRUSH soda to give as a gift.  So, I made my own labels that to use as a gift for my daughter’s pre-school friends this year.

And the best news?  The gifts are ready to go already.  How is that for being prepared?

I made some cute tags too by simply punching out a 1.5 inch circle of scrapbook paper and gluing it onto a scalloped 2 inch piece of paper.  Then wrap some baker’s twine around the neck of the bottle and throw on a cute mini clothes pins which I painted white.  I also added this fun pewter heart!

I came up with a couple of different labels in pink and blue. The labels look pretty washed out in the photographs but show up darker in real life. They were proving difficult to photograph ;)!

Simply click on each label image to get the download to take you to the download page.  You must be a fan of the Idea Room to get access to the labels.  Click on “Previous Downloads” and you will find each label.

Give the crush bottles separately as a small gift or give the entire six pack to “your little crush”.

Fill the bottles with some fun Valentine’s Day Candy and add some fun scrap book paper to the box to jazz it up a bit like I did for these Bath Salts.

Valentines Day Crush-06

Throw in a fun stripey straw and enjoy!  But beware…when you put a cardboard straw into this Strawberry Crush, the carbonated drink gets a little crazy.  So be prepared for it to come bubbling up.

Now, I have had more than a few of you ask me how I get my labels to stick to the jars or what paper I print them on.  Great question!  I simply print my labels onto white cardstock paper and then cut them out by hand or with my Silhouette.  Then simply glue them onto the bottles with an old fashioned glue stick.  It works like a charm and leaves no bubbles if you gently smooth out the label with your fingers!

I have got some more Valentine’s Day posts in the works so be sure to check back in.  I am also struggling to write a pretty personal post about my recent health issues.  Well see if I can get it published here soon.  I’m struggling with finding the right words :)!  Hope you all have a great day! xo
