Father’s Day Gift–Candy Bar Wrappers

I came up with another version of a Father’s Day Gift along the Father’s Day Candy Bar Wrapper theme.  For some reason I just love the idea of wrapping up chocolate bars in fun and creative ways.  I made some a couple of years ago which some of you might remember or actually used.  You can find the printable Candy Bar Wrappers here:

I thought it would be fun to wrap them up to look like they are wearing a suit and tie.  I just created a pattern and used 3 separate pieces of scrapbook paper.  The first pattern is for the suit coat.  I used a gray linen-like scrapbook paper and cut it out and then folded where it is indicated on the pattern.  Then I punched three paper brads through the marked holes for the buttons on the suit.  I used a large glue dot to hold the suit together on the candy bar in the front.

For the white shirt, simply print the pattern onto white cardstock and then cut out the pattern and fold on the lines indicated.  You will fold this up so that it acts as a sleeve to hold the candy bar of your choice in.  Then you will use the third piece of paper to cut out a colorful tie.  Just glue this underneath the flaps of the shirt collar.

Then I printed out some of these round Father’s Day Gift Tag Labels and attached one to the candy bar wrapper with a simple black ribbon.  The gift tags could also be used in so many other ways and on other gifts you might be giving Dad or Grandpa.

The shirt has a fun little Father’s Day quote that will be able to be read when Dad goes to pull out the candy bar inside.

Santa’s Key

Looking for a last minute Christmas gift idea or some Christmas Décor?  I have one for you that you can literally put together in just a few minutes…Santa’s Key.

Have you heard of Santa’s Magic Key?  The legend states that any old key, with Santa’s Magic, can open any door.  This allows Santa to get into homes who do not have a chimney or a fireplace.

Hang the key on a door handle or display it in your home and Santa will be sure to find his way to deliver his gifts.  This is not a new idea, I just wanted to put my own twist on it.  I thought it would be nice to be able to display the key on our Christmas mantle.

I simply took an old scrap of wood left over from this North Pole Crate I shared with you earlier, and cut it so that it fit the poem.  Then I sanded the wood down on the sides and the top and bottom so that it didn’t have any rough edges.

Then I mod-podged the Santa’s Key Poem onto the wood block with a matte Mod Podge.  Wrap a pretty ribbon around the block with the key attached and tie it in a bow to hold it in place.

Or hang it from a door knob to display it in your home.  You can also just attach the poem and the Santa’s Magic Key tag and set it in a prominent area in your home.

I think any young child or family would enjoy getting this unique gift.  And…it is something that can be given really inexpensively.

I couldn’t find the original source of the poem I used, and would love to link back to them if any of you know where I can find it.  I would love to give credit where it is due.
