what my friendly UPS man just dropped at my door step! We pre-ordered our copy of Mocking Jay from Amazon and it is finally here…I think it’s nap time for the little one :)!
We have been anticipating the arrival of the third and final book of Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games trilogy. We (me, the hubs and the oldest boy) have really enjoyed reading it at our house. What about you? Now that the kids are back in school, sometimes I can find a spare minute to catch up on my reading list.
What are some of your favorite CLEAN books?

I love the UPS man! He delivered mine at about 9:30 yesterday morning. And I couldn't have been more excited to read it.
I am on chapter nine and finally had to take a break to clean up some dishes…mostly so I wouldn't feel guilty for reading for the rest of the day! One of my favorite "clean" books is Austenland By Shannon Hale…easy and enjoyable.
I am waiting for the library to get the copy of the Kade Family Saga that I ordered form the library in the big city. I have enjoyed them.
I'm soooo jealous of you! I'm patiently waiting for my husband's paycheck to hit the account, so I can get the kindle version (I'm a teacher and it's the end of the summer…need I say more about being broke? lol) and read it off my computer because I'm too impatient to wait for the UPS man!
ooohhhh i had forgotten that i pre-ordered!! i will be watching for big brown!
I got it on my Kindle yesterday- read it for several hours in the afternoon while the kiddos napped, then finished it late last night. I am a really fast reader- which is both a blessing and a curse. I'm kind of sad that it's over and done, but really enjoyed the read.
In Spain the book does not go out until September 2, and here the children do not begin the school until September 7. Though always I find a moment for the reading and just now I wait for the Suzanne Collins's third book.
One of my favorite books is " The Props of the Earth " and last he that I me read " El ultimo Catón " of Matilde Asensi, (very advisable)
I follow you some time ago, adore your blog.
Kisses.
Núria.
I love the Fablehaven series. I can't wait until my boys are old enough to enjoy them along with me!
We preordered it, too. Can't wait till UPS comes! :-)
~Heather
Oh I am SOOOO jealous!! I think I'll be running out tonight to see if I can snag one!
I love the poison study books! If you haven't read them, give 'em a try!
I am on chapter four!!! I agree with the Fablehaven series. other books or series we have passed around at work that we really like are…
The 13th Reality Series
The Alliance
The Maze Runner Series
The Great and Terrible Series
Gregor the Overlander Series
Ender's Game
Too many choices:)
Half way through Mockingjay. Not loving it so far, but I have faith that it will turn soon.
I have a blog called http://www.thislittlebookblog.blogspot.com that features clean books.
One of my favorite clean books is The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford
Yeah!! I got mine yesterday and I'm on chapter 6 :)
I went and purchased my copy yesterday afternoon and I am on chapter 4! I have loved this series so far…I hope the ending doesn't disappoint. I enjoyed reading James and the Giant Peach with my boys and next week we are going to start Stuart Little.

I have never heard of this series of books. I will have to check them out!
I have been reading the "classics" to my kids and we are having so much fun!
We are also reading the "American Adventure" series and it is great! We are 22 books into the 24 book series. They have ficticious characters but the stories are based on American history.
You have to read "The Great and Terrible" series by Chris Stewart. It is awesome. Their are six books…I finished three in like a week. My husband loved them too. I need to get a hold of the final three so I can finish the series. They are awesome.
I just picked up my copy. Me and my husband really like the pendragon books. They are fun and clean!!
Mine just arrived to and I'm so excited!
Ahh!! I am SO jealous! Still waiting for my copy
Amazon still hasn't shipped mine! Grrr.
We've read the Ranger's Apprentice series aloud and are eagerly awaiting the next book.
I am beyond bitter! I pre-ordered this book from Amazon before it even had a title! No sign of Mr. UPS man :(
I've only read one of them so far, but the 39 clues are clean and good. (Like Harry Potter, they're geared for pre teens/teens, but still a good read.)
I also like anything by Richard Paul Evans.
I love The Wednesday Letters…And The Last Lecture :) My sister-in-law (LaCol, Ben's wife) told me about The Hunger Games a while back, I'll have to check it out now!
Yay! I got mine yesterday! Someone told me that the 2nd book leaves you hanging, so I purposely didn't finish it until last night, and now I can start book 3!! Whoopie!!
I somehow found Mockingjay in my small town book store on Thursday, so I grabbed it quickly, headed home and read it as fast as I could. I loved it, just not as much as the first two. I felt the ending wrapped up too neatly (although I think this might be a personal thing…I've been feeling that way lately about a lot of books).
What age is best for this book series? My son is 10. . . I must confess I have never heard of it, and he brought maybe the 1st or 2nd book home from school yesterday. I didnt know if it was appropriate or not?? Glad to see this post!
Still waiting for mine to get dropped by, hopefully tomorrow. And guess what, I'm going to be giving away one copy of MockingJay on my blog during the next week! Check over there to find out when…

Along with my sons, I have enjoyed reading the Percy Jackson series this summer. Much better than the movie. Also a quick read packed with lots of mythology information.
I have been impatiently waiting for that book all summer! I have enjoyed the Nicolas Flemel series by Michael Scott. It is written for 12 and up. And Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage.
I got mine too. LOVE IT!
Um, have you read the Percy Jackson books? Hilarious, and just oh-so good. I love them.
I have been reading the Sisters Grimm Series(lots of humor and fairy tale characters)to my kids who are 10 and 12. We LOVE them! Although my son read all the Fable Haven books in July, he still likes it when we read together. Our next reading is going to be the Hunger Games series. 2 years ago I read the Twilight Series to my kids. I only had to edit the last book just a bit! Happy Reading!!!
I finished the day it was released (came home from work & basically read). LOVED MOCKINGJAY!
One of my favorite novels ever is Ender's Game. Seems a fitting suggestions/recommendation to the Hunger Game Crowd.
I have always loved the Narnia books. I read a lot of YA so mostly its pretty clean (I don't go for the edgier stuff as much)
What is the reading level of Mocking Jay? I'm always looking for "good" books.
Thanks

Awesome I just finished the Mockingjay last night!
Oh my gosh! It's finally out! I lost track of days. I was going to preorder it too but now I guess I'll have to hunt it down.
I've been meaning to read that series. Other clean ones are The Lightning Thief series and of course my fav Little House series.
I know someone who would love to borrow that when you are done!
We have been reading Fablehaven! I read the entire series in less than a week and now I am re-reading. My husband has even started reading it! We have also recently enjoyed the Percy Jackson series and are so excited for Rick Riordans 2 new series coming out this year! Then the Hunger Games series!
I bought it the day it came out. Borders has a coupon for 50% off that book so it was only $9! I'm liking it so far. I waited a day to start reading it because I was finishing up "Pretties" by Scott Westerfeld.
Got it, read it within 20 hours…love it.
OK, so if you haven't you have to read The Guernsey Literary and Potatoe Peel Society. Strange name, I know. But it is a completely clean, charming, lovely book. Beautiful quick read…
I enjoyed the Hunger Games series a lot, even though it's pretty dark. I just couldn't put them down!! I love anything by Shannon Hale (especially Goose Girl and Book of a Thousand Days), The Ranger's Apprentice series, the Eragon series and a recent read, Ella Enchanted. (TEN TIMES better than the movie.
-Have enjoyed your blog
I went to Walmart after school on the 24th to get my copy!!!! I had been counting down all summer. The HUnger Games was our summer read for HS and MS at our school.
I am the new librarian at our school and have been so busy that I have not finshed, but we are crawling in bed super early tonight so I can read. (Daddy is ou of town!)
