Chocolate Dipped Wafer Cookies are so simple to make and they are perfect for entertaining or gift giving for Valentine’s Day.
WAFER COOKIES
I have seen these Chocolate Dipped Wafer Cookies around for a while now and thought they would be fun to make for a little get together my daughter had with some friends a couple weekends ago. Everyone needed to bring a little treat. So I had her whip up a few on her own…while I made a few to share with you here.
CHOCOLATE WAFER COOKIES
These Chocolate Dipped Wafer Cookies are probably one of the easiest treats you can make and still call homemade….cause you know…you made them at home :)! We used pink wafers because my daughter picked them…and they are perfect for Valentine’s Day. But they would also be great in the other colors and flavors.
HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE DIPPED WAFER COOKIES
SUPPLIES:
- WAFER COOKIES
- MELTING CHOCOLATE
- SPRINKLES
- PARCHMENT PAPER OR SILICONE MAT
- LARGE COOKIE SHEET
DIRECTIONS:
- Melt the chocolate in a food-grade plastic container in the microwave.
- Spoon to spread the chocolate on the wafer cookie or you can dip the end of each of the wafer cookies into the melted chocolate.
- Place the cookies on a cookie sheet that is lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat
- Shake some sprinkles all over the melted chocolate.
- Let the chocolate harden before removing them from cookie sheet.
Note: You can also use melted white chocolate, milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips. You can also use small candies and drizzle chocolate to make them fun and festive too!

I LOVE your videos. Helps me so much to see how you do it!!!
I am very visual as well. Enjoy!
These are #1 on my list for my son’s school. Quick, easy and oh so tasty!
Any idea if I can make these ahead of time and freeze them for a few days prior to an event I need them for?
Stephanie, I would think that would be fine. I have not tried it though. Maybe freeze a couple and see if they defrost ok.
How long do you leave them out for the chocolate to dry and get hard? Do you put them in the fridge?
Omg these are beautiful. Can’t wait to make them!
Niki-Thanks, I hope you do make some. They are so simple and tasty.
How much chocolate do you melt, want to make these for my daughters’ 1st bday party?
Mary Lee- It really depends on how many you are planning on making. You can always melt a little bit at a time in the microwave or you can use a double boiler to keep it melted. I usually use the Wilton brand bag and melt the entire bag. A little bit goes a long way. Hope this helps.
would it be possible to just use melted frosting?
Debra- Frosting won’t harden like the chocolate would. It would still be tasty though!
What a great idea!
Would almond bark work for dipping the cookies in?
Cindy- I think that would work just fine. Enjoy!
It was so delicious that I think I want to make it again tomorrow. Thanks you so much for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Pretty & delicious! My kids could go through these cookies within minutes, if I let them. This will be fun to make with them. Thanks!
Natalie- Mine too!
What a great idea!! The wafers remind me of my childhood. We would always want them! My kids will love me forever!
Kristyn- They are a classic!
