The Most Difficult Yet Best 5,172,000 Minutes of My Life
From the time I was 24 years old to 34 years old, almost a decade, I was either pregnant or nursing one of my five children. I am currently 38 years old which means that for exactly one quarter of my life, my body has been growing and nourishing another precious human life. If you are counting, that is approximately 8.9 years, 3,175 days, or 86,200 hours that my amazing physical body has been working to sustain life.

I can identify with you on the itching! Mine comes from cholestasis of pregnancy, though, and is mainly in my hands and feet, (although it also affects my arms and legs). Also, my skin doesn’t itch so much as my blood itches. I wanted to rip off my skin and claw at my bones. I’ve had the same condition with all three of my kids and expect it will show up again before I deliver next spring. When I read you delivered at 37 weeks, I was relieved for you! I have to deliver that early, as cholestasis can cause the baby to be stillborn in the last month of pregnancy.

Oh dear! I can’t imagine feeling like the itching was coming from within my blood…What a nightmare. At least we got some beautiful babies out of it. I can’t imagine knowing it was going to happen each time. Good luck with your current pregnancy. Hope all goes well!
For a minute I wondered if I missed an announcement! I delivered 3 out of my 4 kids at 37 weeks…people don’t like to hear that, but I suffered from bad vericose vein pain. Still do…
haha! No announcement here :)! Really? I had 3 of my 5 at 37 weeks too!! And the other one was 38 weeks and then 38.5 for the other. My friends don’t like to hear that…especially the one who was 2 weeks overdue! That 5 weeks is a long time. Sorry to hear about your varicose veins. I hear those are awful to deal with! I owe you a text…sorry! Life here has been crazy!
