A couple of years ago I shared with you a fun family New Year’s Eve Tradition…New Year’s Eve Countdown Activity Bags.
These activity bags are a great way to ring in the New Year and helps to pass the time, especially if you are celebrating the New Year with Children. The idea is to place a small note inside the bag or a clue to the activity you will do together during that hour of the countdown to the New Year, ending with the 12 for Midnight. For example, this is typical for our New Year’s Eve Activity Countdown…but you could change it up to fit how you like to ring in the new year!
In each bag I added some fun activities to do on the hour. For example:
5:00 pm—Make/Eat Chinese Food
7:00 pm—Watch a movie with the family
8:00 pm—Intermission: Make some Ice Cream Sundaes & finish movie
9:00 pm—Make a New Year’s Time Capsule
10:00—Take some photos with these New Year’s Eve Photo Booth Props
11:00 pm—Turn on some music and dance
12:00 am 2012—Watch fireworks out the window, bang noise makers, toast the New Year!
Simply print out the clock faces and glue them onto some paper bags. These are mini paper bags that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. Or add the clock faces and make them into a Countdown banner with the activity taped or written on the back of the clock face. Remove them from the banner as you count down closer to the New Year with the arrival of each new hour of the evening.

The tutorial for the Black New Year’s Eve Year Banner (2015) is being uploaded soon! So be sure to come and check back for that…as soon as I can get it up!
