We have been super busy here lately. The husband was out-of-town, we had 2 sets of company, started my oldest son’s science project and made a Pinewood Derby car. I am really behind on answering emails…but I will get to them!

My son designed an awesome Pinewood Derby car, but unfortunately it was not one of our faster versions this year! He was a little sad, but perked right up when he saw the treats that were handed out along with the awards!

I thought the treats were very clever. They are twinkies (still in the wrapper) with Oreos for the wheels. I thought I would share them with the rest of you in case any of you are looking for something for your own son’s Pinewood Derby.

Those are darling!!! What a cute blog you have! I saw your fun wreath around last week and thought it was so cute. And then I saw you on Studio 5 — you did a great job!!!
Were you nervous? They want me to come on next month and I am already freaking out! You did a wonderful tutorial!
XOXO

Totally CUTE!!! I will be using this one for sure!!! How did you get the oreos to stick? Just more frosting?? I also love the "pitpass" your son is wearing…great idea! Thanks :)
This is great! My son's pinewood derby is this weekend. Did you make the pit passes? Those are so cute. I would love to make those to give to all the boys.
DON'T WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING BUT THOSE CUTE KIDS! THE TREATS ARE SO CUTE! SO MANY CREATIVE PEOPLE..AMAZING! :D
I have never been so happy to see something at the right time as this! I am the primary president in our ward, but we just got new scout masters, leaders, oh yeah and I got a new 2nd councilor sunday…So for our pine wood derby THIS week I am making the treats! Now I know what I am going to make! I usually seem to find stuff like this right after the fact :-) Love your blog!

Amy, I so hear ya. We are in the thick of it with pinewood derby & science fair projects! I would to hear what your son's science fair project is. With you being the amazing scientist. Thanks for the cute pinewood derby treat idea!
I am currently the Wolf leader in scouts and Amy this is such a cute treat!! Thanks for sharing!!
Oh, thank you so much for posting this!!! I am in charge of our wards pinewood derby next week and couldn't think of a fun treat. This is perfect and easy!

Cute idea! Thanks for sharing it with us.
I really like those pinewood treats…ours is coming up Tuesday and I will definitely be making those. And oddly we are working on science fair projects too! ;)
Cute treats! We don't have any Pinewood Derbies in our future but I'm sure I could put some of those together for my husband and he'd think he died and went to heaven!
I was hoping some of you would be able to use this idea in your own Pinewood Derbies! So glad some of you will be able to use it.
I did not make the pit passes or the treats. I think they just used the icing itself to attach the oreos to the twinkies. But adding a little more additional icing would definitely make it stick better I think!
What a great idea! My hubby is the cub scout master, so we're always looking for ideas. I will be making these for sure. :)
These are so cute! I have a little boy so I am always looking for cute ideas…there aren't nearly as many boy ideas as there are girls. Thanks!
I loved the pit crew and pinewood derby treat. WE just held ours and they boys would have loved that; however we had a large cake with a large pw derby car on it…big success. I plan to use your idea for next year. Thanks for sharing. I wish I could facebook this…Do you know how or are you protected…
I have had some trouble with people presenting my text and pictures as their own so I am protected. I do not know how to fb anything! :) I am to lazy to figure it out. Can you post a link to it on your page?? Sorry! I appreciate you wanting to share it with others though!
What a fun idea! I'm totally sharing this with my Scouting friends (I'm a Cubmaster and a Webelos Den leader)
Thanks for the idea–we will be using it this month. Can I ask why you left the Twinkie in the wrapper?
