YAY! I'm first! :) I think the best gift I've ever gotten was when my youngest daughter (who was due Jan 9th) came early on Dec 21st. I'm not sure what was better having her there in time for Christmas or just not being pregnant for Christmas! :D
[email protected]
I LOVE your blog…I think that the best gift that you can give is the gift of service…Make a christmas tree and let it get passed around your family by doing service for someone…
[email protected]
My best christmas gift is my husband…who's birthday is christmas day! 2nd best gift is my daughter, our first born, who was born on Dec 26th!!!
I'm a follower…..the best gift I've given is an air compressor to my husband. He had no idea that I knew what one was, and then for HIM to have that huge gift under the tree got him so excited!!
You blog- I follow! One of the gifts I hope my family sees this year is memories. Things are tight- toys break, but memories will be there. New traditions and old friends!
[email protected]
Love your blog! The best gift for me are my sons they are such good kids, the most loving things. [email protected]
Love the blog :)
The best gift I have ever given was to my mom a few years back, right after my grandmother (her mom) passed away. I took my grandmothers handwritten recipes and typed all of them up and binded them in a book and gave it to my mom. Took time but was well worth it!

My favorite Christmas gift was when I was 13 and I got my first pair of Guess jeans. I think I wore them 3 times a week.
I am a follower!! My favorite Christmas gift was actually this year…I got a KitchenAid mixer as an early present!
My best Christmas present ever was the bicycle I got when I was 9 yrs old!
I am super excited about what we got our 3 year old this Christmas. She is currently head over heels OBSESSED with Disney Princesses so we have a huge dress up trunk (pink and princess of course) filled with princess dresses and all things princess!
I think one of the best gifts that I still love is the wallet my husband got me three years ago. I still loveit!
Thanks for the fun giveaway! I can't think of a very favorite Christmas gift, but I LOVE gifts. Love to give them and love to get them too. It's just so fun to find just the right thing for someone!
Blessings,
Shana
I am a follower. The best gift I have received is my bicycle. I had been wanting one forever and my cute husband surprised me with one. I had NO idea that he was going to get me one. It was wonderful and gets a lot of use. [email protected]
At age 20, I got a beautiful coat for Christmas…camel colored wool with a fur lined hood and fur trim going down the front. It was the first coat I ever got that was a new coat, just for me, and it wasn't from the good will store either. I just loved it! :D (you know I am a follower..thanks) :D
You are so sweet to spread some wonderful Christmas cheer with offering such a great giveaway! one of my favorite Christmas presents that I have received was a "sewing box" from my husband…it's really a tackle box with lots little boxes that come out individually…LOVE IT! the best gift i've ever given was this year i am giving my hubby a metal detector. hoping to find buried treasure!…or maybe just the diamond earring i lost in our backyard last summer! :o)
Christmas 2007. We were in New York the month prior to Christmas for my oldest daughter (4) to have surgery for cancer. With the different complications she had, a couple weeks turned into a month. We weren't sure we would make it home for Christmas. She was cleared finally to fly home and I remember finally getting home and my daughter, so happy to be home, sat in front of the tree for at least an hour. I don't know what we exchanged that year, but i do remember being so thankful that we were home and that she no longer had her tumors! Having the surgery done and the tumors removed was the BEST gift we could have ever received.
How fun! I think my favorite gift was when I was about 7 my grandparents sent all of us grandkids into the family room to find a pile high of bean bag chairs. It seemed like they reached the ceiling! And we also got tootsie roll banks.
This year I'm going to attempt to paint a family tree for my dad. He is really into genealogy and I think he'll really love it.
Thanks for all of the great ideas and the fun giveaways!
jessrkynoch(at)gmail
How fun is this! I can tell you, the favorite thing we gave is because of something we received. We got secret Santa'd one year when we couldn't afford a christmas. So since then, the years we are able, we secret santa a family in need. Lasts years was our best so far! We got the family each a pair of pajamas, a LOT of groceries, and a few games. We had a group of boys from a neighboring ward deliver, and the reaction was amazing. The leader of the boys said not one of them left that house with dry eyes. The mom of the family was in tears and gave them all hugs and said they were not going to be able to have anything to eat for Christmas that year, and that was an answer to their prayers. I think everyone should do this every year. It will show you that it truly is better to give then to receive!
the best gift that i ever got was that my sister flew from Spain to Idaho to surprise me for my birthday.
My husband gave me a sewing machine on our first Christmas.
[email protected]
the sweetest was last year, my son was born!! i'm like a kid at christmas, i love to open presents! [email protected]
I know I should say that it was something heart-felt and homemade, but I have to be honest. The best give I have ever received was my All-Clad deluxe slow cooker.
I'm a follower and would love to win something from your shop! I think I would have to say my best Christmas present was a gorgeous homemade dollhouse that my grandpa spent months and months making and gave to me when I was about 5. I still have it to this day. Even though it is a PAIN to store the huge thing, I absolutely treasure it and just can not let go of it.
The best gift I ever got for Christmas was from my nephew when he was 5. He drew a picture of him and he signed it Love Brytton. He is 18 now and I still have the picture up in my house.
After 3 miscarriages; 2.5 weeks in the hospital on bedrest, bleeding, then early emergency delivery at 33 weeks of my daughter – she came home for Christmas – sooner then they told me to expect her to come home from the NICU. THAT was the best present I ever received.
I am a follower and the best gift was the Christmas all our family was in Utah and had our family together and got to play in the snow.
Best gift given was my grandma CANCER FREE after a 5 year battle. Best one given, thomas the train for me son. I have never seen him so happy!!
i follow your blog ;) love it!
the best christmas gift i have given was a couple of years ago. i made my mom a calendar with all of the grandkids pics in it. she absolutely loved it and would show it off to everyone that visited her ;)
I love following your blog! It is one of the many things i do everymorning!! I love seeing all the great ideas you have!! Thanks for letting me look!!!
My favorite gift I gave was last year my husband and I surprised our parents by telling them we were expecting identical twins!! I love giving more than receiving and just love Christmas so much!! Thank you for the great giveaway I love your blog!
[email protected]
The best present we gave was surprising both our families and coming home for Christmas. We used to live in Colorado which is about 20 hours drive from our families. Our daughter was only 4 months old, so some of our family hadn't even met her yet. So we played up the whole can't come home for Christmas thing and surprised everyone. My brother even said "You guys saved Christmas!"
What a great giveaway. My favorite Christmas present is one from my childhood. In sixth grade I wanted my ears pierced so badly. I swear I was the only girl in my class without them. I kept asking my parents and they kept saying no. On Christmas morning, I opened up a pair of pierced earrings. A little confused, I asked my Mom what they were for. Then it dawned on me that they were letting me get my ears pierced.
I'm a follower. One of my favorite Christmas memories is the year my sister, my brother and I got a puppy for Christmas! What a surprise when we opened that box!!

Last year my siblings and I went in together to get professional family pictures done and gave that to my mom. She loved it! [email protected]
I have just recently found your blog…and I LOVE IT! The best Christmas gift I received was from my husband. He wrote me a love letter that was 2 pages long. That was about 7 years ago. We have now been married almost 9 years and have 5 year-old quintuplets (2 girls, 2 boys and an angel boy). I am so thankful for my wonderful husband and family.
[email protected]
I love your blog and this is such a nice giveaway! ONe of the best gifts I've given was a book of letters to my grandma. My cousin and I had all of the cousins write a letter to my grandma sharing their favorite memories of her and my grandpa. He passed away a few years earlier so it was a great way to keep his memory alive. We put all of them in a book for her and she still reads it often.
At the moment I am most excited about a gift I'm giving to a friend who's a wonderful lady in our community. She's a doula and lactation consultant who gives free advice to those who need it (like when my 9 month old was failing to thrive as a newborn), and fosters a wonderful community of moms, unwashed pajamas and uncombed hair and all! She has a lovely small store, and features sunflowers in the decor all over. I made her a rag quilt in the shape of a sunflower for her to use as an infant's nap or play rug, or as a wall hanging. It's in the dryer now, and we're probably going to see her tomorrow, and I can't wait! :)
My parents surprised me with a leather jacket one year (they found it for a steal 6 months before Christmas) and I was so excited and surprised when I opened it. I was gonna go to college looking Hot!! :) and from me I did the twelve days of Christmas for my boyfriend (now husband) when we were dating it was so much fun to work on and give to him.
I'm now a follower, YAY! One year I made dvd's for my parents with pictures of all the siblings and the grandkids. I added some music and quotes from everyone on the dvd. I remember my Dad crying his heart out. It just melted me. [email protected] or stephs.scentsy.us
Best gift I've given was a winning lottery ticket (they won $25 bucks)! This is my new favorite blog!

The best gift I have ever gotten was just this last August for our five year anniversary- my Canon Rebel XSi!!! My husband totally surprised me with it and I started crying because I loved it so much! The best gift I have ever given was the first quilt I had ever made. I gave it to my in-laws for Christmas two years ago and my MIL made such a big deal about how beautiful it was, it made me feel really good. And even now, she has it on her bed and she'll bring people in to admire it.

The best gift I have received was a puppy when I was 8 yrs. old. She lived 16.5 years and was the greatest dog ever!

Fun giveaway!
The best present I have received was my daughter born just before Christmas 4 years ago.
One of the best gifts I ever recieved was an all day adventure that consisted of a stop at the Biltmore Estate (we live about 30 minutes from the Estate) for their candlelight Christmas tour. What a magical evening!
I'm already a follower, I love your site and am always inspired.
I think that the best Christmas gift I received was the pair of diamond earrings my husband gave to me the first year we were married. I still wear them 6 years later, everyday!
The best Xmas gift I have ever received was some plane tickets from my husband to go spend Xmas with my family in Reunion Island.
Thanks Amy for this giveaway!!

How could I not be a follower?! I honestly am unsure what the best present I ever received was…all of my memories are more about the people and what we did than the presents! Thanks for the giveaway and Merry Christmas!
The best gift ever….wow that is hard. I can think of great memories. So probably the best gift is creating memories for others.
[email protected]
I've been a follower ever since I found your blog. I have been thinking about the many things I have been given or gave away for Christmas but can't think of any specific gift. I just love making things for people. I guess this year my favorite is giving the nieces and nephews that I have, cute tote bags with their initials on them. Best gift probably I have recieved is when my daughter was born 3 days after Christmas 5 years ago. We had infertility problems for almost 5 years before that and she was so wanted. Thanks for this giveaway. I love your blog it is where I go to find cute ideas.
Wow thanks for sharing! I follow with bloglines (hope that counts)
I'm a follower, and love your blog and great ideas.
The best gift I ever recieved was my puppy Hennessy. I've been enjoying him everyday for the last 7 years and I just love him.
Best gift I ever gave, was a calendar with pics of my family to my mom. I loved the feeling it gave me when she started crying while flipping the pages.
Last years gift from my hubby was pretty funny. A shotgun and a pair of diamond earrrings. Yep- classy redneck! :)

When I was in junior high I remembered part of a song but didn't know what it was called or who sang it. I wrote down part of the chorus (the part I could remember) on a small piece of notebook paper and every couple of years I would come across it and try to find the song again. I had done online searches (online didn't cover as much then) and used the lookup books in the music stores and called radio stations trying to identify it. I could NOT find it. When I was about 25 my little sister found it. And she gave me a present of the full lyrics to the song and the album it was on. I was so thrilled I was jumping up and down and started crying.
Oh, the song was "Just Thinking" by Lari White and what I could remember was the part that goes "And it's funny you should happen to walk into my life 'Cause I was just thinking of you". What a great romance song.
My parents used to chose a family they thought could use a little help. We would then put together some gifts and food, put it on their doorstep, ring the bell and RUN! Sometimes my dad dressed up like Santa and gave it to them. It was fun to imagine the looks on their faces! You have my email address. Thanks so much!
Growing up we were not rich by any means (9 kids on a teachers salary)…but one Christmas us 4 younger girls all got a My Child that we really wanted but what I remember most about that Christmas is that we all chose 1 of our new gifts to take to a family in our ward who was really poor. I will never forget that experience!

One of the best gifts I remember getting when I was younger was this doll that my mom and her friend made. I know it took them hours and I even remember naming it Jessica. I cherished it for years. Sure wish I could remember what happened to it. Love your blog by the way, it's fantastic!
This year I think the gift that will mean the most to someone is the one I am doing for my sister. She works so many jobs to make ends meet and to afford herself to do what she loves- paint. She got published in Somerset Studios Apronology so I bought the magazine and have "stolen" her apron and I am framing them up for her to keep and reinforce that she is very talented.
tammy
The best gift was being able to invite some friend that were staying alone (far away from their family) with us, we are a small family, so it was lovely to have more people around :D
Merry Christmas to you too!
The best gifts have always been those that I never asked for. Some how people manage to find the perfect gift without any hints from the recipient. Those truly are the best kind!
Awesome! My best gift ever given to me was a trip to visit my grandma in Florida.. by myself! I was so shocked as that year we had literally NO money, but my husband managed to wheel & deal, and bought me a plane ticket and sent me off to paradise for 4 days!
I'm a follower now. My favorite gifts to give this year are my homemade items. I have been making glass tile necklaces, and have gotten so many nice comments that I have been making them to give as gifts. And I have also made teacher gifts by making them into magnets as well.
Count me in. I am a follower. The best gift I have ever given was a leg lamp from A Christmas Story to my brother, who loves that movie! It was fun to see his face.

The best gift I ever gave was to my mom, my brothers, sister and I all pitched in and got her a really nice table saw she had been wanting. The best part is we saved it till last, gave her clues to find it and when she opened the garage door and saw it all put together with a big bow she totally flipped! She laughed and cried at the same time. LOVED it!!
The best gift I ever got was for my birthday, actually. It was a framed print of the mural in the HBLL at BYU. Long story behind it, but it was THE. BEST. GIFT.
And I follow. Oh, but I follow.
My best Christmas gift has actually been one my parents are giving us this Christmas. I have 3 siblings and my parents have been blessed with 18 grandkids between us. Well they are not really well off just money smart, and this year they decided to give us all (including them of course) a week long Mexican cruise over Spring Break. Ahhh, I am soo excited and so are my kids. I have truly been blessed with generous, wonderful parents who realize that family is what's most important. You are also super generous. Merry Christmas and I love your blog!
Hi Amy, what a great giveaway! My favorite gift as a child was a dollhouse that my Grandfather made, Grandma did all the "interior" decorating, and it is still the best gift. Now my girls get to play with it:) My favorite gift as an adult was a calender that one of my daycare moms made me last year with pics of all my daycare kids, meant soooo much to me:)
Blessings,
Cara
P.S. I'm a follower:)
Honestly my favorite Christmas gift was a Shark vacumm sweeper. It is the BEST thing ever.. plus my 3 yr old loves using it!

The first Christmas we were dating my husband gave me a book that he wrote and colored pictures for and everything. I love it. :) Thanks so much for hosting this giveaway! You are so generous! Merry Christmas!
One of my favorite things to give every year is a personalized CD to all my parents and siblings. My husband and I choose a song that reminds us of each person. Some are funny, some are sweet… they never know what their song is going to be.
I'm an official follower now! My favorite gift was when my dad gave both me and my mom little diamond earrings for Christmas. I was in the 6th grade. Thanks for the chance to enter!
[email protected]
I love your blog. This year for Christmas I have made tile pendant necklaces, rice bags, hot pads. You are the best!
My best Christmas present….Well, I just love watching my kids faces!
My favorite gift… maybe a little corny… but it was my engagement ring!! He stuffed it into my big piggie slippers and when I put them on… there it was!!!! [email protected]
My best Christmas gift was the twins — came home from the hospital just before Christmas 6 years ago!
[email protected]
I love your blog! The ideas are great! Last year my husband and I took an infamous family story from his childhood, which involved his brothers, and made it into a children's book. His brother had written it out as a gag gift for my husband's birthday, my mom illustrated it, and I bound it with a machine at work. Now everyone will be able to share the story with their children. :)
I am a follower (under Today's Give Away): Hmmm….the one I remember the most, so I guess it's my favorite gift was a Hope Chest from my mom and dad. They gave one to all of the girls and made us go on a scavenger hunt throughout the house to find it. That was when I was about 14 years old. I'm now 33 and I still have it to this day and keep my treasured things inside. mirandahaymore (at) gmail (dot) com
While I can't say what the one best gift I have received is, I can say that I love to give and enjoy most the look of appreciation on the faces of others or knowing I have done something secretly for someone else. [email protected]
I am a follower, love your blog. I think most recently one of the best gifts I have received was from my parents last year – my Nikon camera. I love it.
[email protected]
I am a follower and LOVE LOVE Love your blog:) My favorite gifts are always the homemade thought out ones! I am a sentimental girl:)

I love reading your blog. Last Christmas my husband and I, as part of their Christmas present, announced to my parents that we were expecting a baby! They were so excited!
[email protected]
I am a follower, and love everything I find here! My best gift given and recieved is that we are able to go home every Christmas even though we live on the other side of the country (literally coast to coast) and that my daughter gets to see and spend time with 4 generations of women.
I love following your blog and have used so many wonderful ideas of yours. My favorite gift is one that I am giving this year. Things are tight, so I made homemade mickey mouse/minnie mouse knit hats. I can't wait to see all of my sisters kids at Disney on Christmas with thier hats.

The best gift I've given for Christmas was the year I got my mom the bread machine she REALLY wanted and never thought she could afford.

I just gave myself a great Christmas gift! Last night we sang in our Stake's performance of The Messiah. It was one of the most spiritual choral experiences I've ever had, and really helped me feel the true spirit of Christmas.
The best gift I have given was a memory jar to my mom. In it I jotted down all the happy memories from my child hood. We still enjoy reading them!
I am a follower!!! The best give I have ever gotten was from my 6 year old (she was only 4 at the time) she made a picture frame of herself at daycare. She could not contain her excitement! She kept asking (while holding her little hands together) "what is it? what is it?" when I opened it, her eyes were wide with excitement! it was a picture of her crying, mouth opened and everything with a santa hat on! it was so Sweet! we put the picture frame on our xmas tree now, its hiliarious!

I am a follower and am V-E-R-Y excited for this giveaway!! Let's see the best gift I have ever received would have to be my wedding ring. We didn't have a lot of money when we got married so we had simple bands. Then, the next Christmas the hubby gave me a shiny new rock wrapped in a phone book. It was very cute!!
Hello and thank you! Ready for this?
My husband for Christmas last year developed 30 something rolls of film for me that were forgotten about in storage. My son will be 21 and my daughter's 15th birthday is Friday… to say the least, I now (miraculously, they weren't even damaged) have precious photos of them at their little birthday parties, school functions, etc. Also, there were photos of my grandparents. I will CHERISH these forever. He even bought frames, photo albums, etc. to put them in! I cried joyful tears all day long reminiscing! That was the best gift ever!!
Happy day to you!
Christina :)
I am official follower now! I LOVE this blog and I'm looking forward to trying out more ideas soon:) One of the best gift I've ever received was a diamond necklace from my husband the Christmas before we got married. The diamond was from his late grandmother and he got it put on a new necklace. I absolutely love it!:)
One Christmas, my dad had been laid off and wouldn't think of asking anyone for anything. I knew he wanted a bread maker (they were all the rage at that time).
They were expensive and I had to save for a couple of months but it was worth it to see the joy on his face and then it crumpled into to tears of appreciation. I knew I'd hit it on the head and it was more of a gift than anything else I received that Christmas.
I love following and reading! I think the greatest gift I have received was last year. My daughter's pre-school teacher ordered blank calendars and the kids made a different picture for each month. They used hand prints and foot prints and different materials to make the pictures. It's a great keepsake and will also show her what kinds of activities we were doing at the time.
Thanks! [email protected]
I think my favorite gift was when my hubby got me my laptop & photoshop elements so that I could start digital scrapbooking. It is my release!
My favorite gift was my Barbie house when I was 7 years old! It was taller than I was and my mom totally decorated the inside!
[email protected]
When cd players were first coming out my husband bought one to install in my car. I told him it made the car run better!
[email protected]
The best Christmas gift I've received is an engagement ring. I have a wonderful husband now who has given me 2 amazing daughters.
[email protected]
Im a simple kinda girl. I am just now getting into handmaking gift! I know I'm so behind the times but, I really am loving it! Anyway long story short I truly think the best gift you can give or receive is something that has been made by your own hands.
Thanks for all the great inspiration!
[email protected]
I had my baby boy last December. What an amazing Christmas gift that was! :)
Having my little girl just before Christmas 2 years was my favourite present. And now getting to share Christmas with my 2 children is the best present I get every year. :)
Email is on blog profile. :)
What a great question — I am so enjoying just going through and reading what everyone is writing! My favorite gift at Christmas is just having family together! Not so much about the presents. Our family loves to look at the lights everywhere too. We just love this time of year!
My best gift would be my son, who was due Christmas day 1988 but decided to come a couple of day's early 12/23/88. God is Good.

I don't comment often, but I follow you blog regularly. Love the creativity you put into it.
The best gift I've given (as per the recipient) is a worm composting "factory" to my mom. She had recently moved from the country to a small city appartment on a second floor, with no backyard to show for. But she still wanted to do her part for the environment. I found a tutorial on how to make a "worm-condo", mail ordered a pound of worms and voilà. 4 years later, her plants are thriving and she'll tell anyone who asks that her best present ever were WORMS :-)
I can't narrow it down to just one. Mostly precious things that were made by those I love. My mom made me a beautiful denim skirt and jacket when I was in high school with large embroidered roses circling the hem of the skirt and on the front and back yoke of the jacket. It was amazing! Pictures drawn by my kids and grandkids also rank pretty high! I still think the best gift of any Christmas was the original one, Baby Jesus.
One year I bought my mom tickets to see a play that we both love. She cried when she opened it and that was great! You know you've succeeded when you make your mom cry!
The best present is having my husband home for Christmas. My husband is in the military and he's been away for more holidays than I can count.
Dec. 16th is my birthday! The best gift I've received is coming this Christmas. My parents are taking all of my siblings and our families to Mexico to celebrate their 40th anniversary in April. Can't wait!

I got a pair of tickets to a broadway show i've been wanting to see. It's an early present and I love it!

I guess the best Christmas gift I ever received was a pair of white roller skates when I was in junior high. The roller skating rink was the place to be!
The best, or rather funnest, gifts I've ever given were handmade, by me, quillows for each of my nieces and nephews.
I'm a follower and a big fan. Merry Christmas! Off to make peppermint bark… :)
The best present I ever received was being sealed to my husband just a few weeks before Christmas.

The best gift I have ever given is going to be this year. My daughters are getting a brand new play kitchen set and it is so dang cute–they are going to freak!! I am so excited!!

My favorite thing is to get someone something they actually want/need. From tools for my dad to the toy one of my sons has been looking at for months…..I love that look on their face when they open the present to find exactly what they had been hoping to receive!
[email protected]
The best gift I ever have received was my hubby! Our first Christmas. He had gotten home from Basic Training 8 days prior. After 3 months, it was all I needed!
The best gift I have ever given, was last year! We gave grandparents calendars. The pictures were of our 4 girls. Except for one month. That was the where we announced our pregnancy of our first son, his birth month!
http://armymomsplace.blogspot.com/
I've received many great gifts over the years, but I guess the best gift I've ever recieved has been my camera. There is nothing more fulfilling for me then to be able to take pictures of my family and blog our stories to keep our wonderful memories alive for years to come :)
I try to find the perfect gift for each person. I love it when I "hit it right on" and it's absolutely perfect. One year my sister and I had pictures taken of us with our kids for our mom. It was perfect for Grandma :D
Oh, I hope I win the initial pendant!!!
I have never been on a plane, train or boat. Never. I truly hope to be able to see more of the world someday. My Aunt and Uncle went to Hawaii one year when I was about 8 yrs. old. They had my name for Christmas and brought back a beautiful shell necklace for me. Then the following year they brought back a gorgeous pure jade elephant necklace from their next trip overseas somewhere. I still have them both today. (I am 44). I look at them and dream of being somewhere warm and sandy like that. It's hard to imagine that there are places like that far far away. But I see these beautiful gifts I was given and appreciate this big old world and the gorgeous places there are yet to see.
I'm a follower. The best Christmas gift that I received was when I was 10 years old. I got a baby sister that year.

Every year my dad who is a magician pays for all the children at the Christmas house box to build an animal at build a bear and we actually get to go with them and are assigned a child to help with the process. It is by far the coolest experience I have ever had and it makes everyone so greatful for what they have!! Last year I was assigned a 3 year old girl who was deaf!! I loved her from the moment I saw her and she clinged to me the entire time when it was time to leave she said she wanted her bear to stay with me because she wanted me to always remember her :) She refused to take it home so we paid for her to make another one that was just like the one she made for me so we could each having matching bears !! We are so lucky we get to share these moments with them :) ANd I love your blog – I have had it on my blog roll for over a year and I check it daily – thats a lie lol I check it more then once a day- thanks for all you do
I think the best Christmas gift is one I am still wishing for this year. I am currently 28 weeks prego with baby #2 and was admitted to the hospital a couple days ago for massive bleeding and contractions; preterm labor. As scary as it has been, so far we have been told that baby is doing well! That is the best Christmas gift ever. To know that despite all of the complcations, our little baby bow is still safe and sound and where he needs to be right now. My only wish for Christmas this year is to be able to keep baby in there longer so he can be born healthy and strong and to be home (on bedrest of course) for Christmas so I can enjoy watching my 3 year old open her gifts. It's not exactly naming the best gift I have ever gotten or given, so it kind of breaks the rules, but it is probably the gift I am hoping and wanting for most.
I think the best gift I have ever given was the year I gave my husband a huge glass bowl full of cotton – He looked at me with the strangest expression and I told him to dig. Nestled in the middle of all that cotton were 2 tickets to the Cotton Bowl to see the Arkansas Razorbacks play!! We spent New Year's Eve in Dallas and New Year's Day at the Cotton Bowl and the greatest gift of all was – we got pregnant and 9 months later had a wonderful "souviner" – a precious baby girl!
I follow your blog and love it!! thanks! Lori Harris [email protected]
The best Christmas gift I've ever received is this year my sister gave our family an advent calendar. Each day in December we have a gift to open, the gift is always nice, but the best part is there's always a letter attached that brings the gift back to Christ and how we can be closer to him. The letter also has an assignment given that we need to do as a family. I feel like our family has been on a journey this month, through these gifts we are becoming closer to each other and to our Savior. Isn't that what Christmas is all about? I love it!
One of the very best gifts I received was when I was four years old. I was given my first real baby doll. A Madame Alexander dolly with blonde hair and blue eyes. I named her Amy after my cousin that I idolized. I lovingly played with her for years, still making clothes for her after I had "grown out" of dolls. She now lies in repose, waiting for my daughter to love her when she is old enough.
Thanks so much for doing this giveaway! My best gift is Jesus. God gave us his only son born on Christmas Day. Thanks cannot even begin to describe the joy that Christ gives me!
Hugs,
Gina

My dad was a pilot and he built his own plane, something he always wanted to do. For Christmas that year I managed to find him one of the old leather WW1 Helmets with goggles and the long white silk scarf, all military surplus from that time! He loved them and flew wearing them often. He is gone now, but I always remember him, landing his plane and hoping out, throwing that long white silk scarf over his shoulder, saying "Just like in the movies"
He was my hero.
Thank you for the opportunity to share a favorite story.
There are some amazing gifts in these comments. I think my favorites would have to be bringing my triplets home from the hospital right before Christmas 11 years ago and marrying my husband right after Christmas 14 years ago.
Merry Christmas
I think one of the best gifts I've given was to my boyfriend last year. We both love the show "House". So, I bought him seasons 1-3 on dvd and a medical dictionary. He loved it, and it's something I've been able to enjoy, too!
One year my parents were struggling financially so us kids decided to give them the money that we were going to spend on each other and surprised them for Christmas. It was the best day!
I think I have always enjoyed seeing the presents wrapped more than opening them. My mom always waits until Chrstmas Eve to wrap. Each person has their own roll of paper and every one of their presents is wrapped in it. She doesn't put tags on them, so we would (and still do) spend hours shaking them and trying to guess who's are whose. (It's a bit harder now that we all have spouses (and some children) added into the mix!) This is one thing that I look most forward to every Christmas!

I really love giving presents but am not a huge fan of getting them. of course i like gifts but i am way more of a giving girl. this year is my husband and my first christmas together and i have found that with every LITTLE gift that I have gotten him I get more and more excited- I can not wait to see him open them :)
I love your blog of course I'm a follower!! The best gift i ever got was a son born 5 days before Christmas and waited five long years for him! Love adoption its the best gift we've ever received four times over!! Merry Christmas!
I have to say that yours is my favorite blog. You have so many fun and cute ideas so thank you for all the work and time you put into it. I think my best present was when I was about 13 years old and my parents gave me contacts. I was sooo happy to not have to wear glasses anymore.

Love your blog! The best gift for me is my son hi is good kid,the most loving things. [email protected]
My hope chest! Although my boyfriend who is stationed overseas is coming home for Christmas this weekend, so that's a pretty great gift for this year!!
This time of year is one of my favorites..20 years ago my DH proposed and 4 years later we found out we were expecting our first…a wonderful time of the year…
Each year we buy gifts, but also make them with the kids. We think it helps them understand the spirit and FUN of giving, not just of receiving. I think these are the best gifts we give…but we can't choose which have been our faves! :)
This year my mom has kept asking me what I want for Christmas…and here we are a week or so before the big day and I still can't think of anything. This year is different b/c all I can think about is my 18 month old and what I want him to have for Christmas…I told my husband, "When has it ever been hard for me to spend some money?" and he laughed…I guess things change once you become a mother and your needs and wants seem to fade away as you try your best to make the best memories and life for your little one! I guess the best gift this year would be realizing I don't need one to be happy…

This year I made a lot of cute things for gifts. One of my favs is the stamped washer necklace I made for my sister!
Wow, well it is hard to say. I got married on Dec 27, 2003. Needless to say that Christmas that year was pretty special. Last year, we welcomed our son on the 30th. He was the best gift!
I am really excited about what I am giving my dad this year. I started quilting this year so I made him a quilt. He was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year so it means a lot to me to give him something special.
My anniversary is around Christmas so me and my Husband always do something real special for each other . [email protected]
I am a follower of your blog and it is the first thing I check every morning. You have given me so many great ideas. The best gift I have ever received was the opportunity to be a family. My husband is in the US Army and has been deployed three times. Last Christmas we packed up the vehicles and moved to Virginia the day after Christmas. This is the first time in nearly five years that we have spent a entire year together. We have had the opportunity to be a family and my husband has had the opportunity to be a full-time father. Although I know our time here is short and the chance for more deployments is great I am treasuring these times we have together. This Christmas will be a wonderful time of family and togetherness. The best gift I ever got was a giant doll house my dad had made for my sister and I. Every room was furnished and came with some small dolls! I loved it!

I am a follower of your blog and have been for a while. My favorite Christmas gift would have to be the 10 speed bike that I got as a kid. I just remember coming downstairs and seeing it and being so excited. Hope you have wonderful Christmas.
Thanks for all your great ideas! Last year we gave our kids memories. Each month during the year we plan specific family time and the kids each take turns planning what we will do. I will give them the scrapbook of our year for christmas this year. It has been so much fun and has really helped us pull together as a family.

love your blog!
my favorite gift was my cricut machine last year. it has been put to good use!

I'm a follower! And I think my favorite Christmas gift from forever ago was when I was little and me and my sister used to share a room. My parents gave me the gift of my own room! :) It was awesome back then to celebrate "growing up".

I'm a follower and love your blog! I think one of my most memorable gifts from when I was younger was a silly watch that had a sun and moon on it. It rotated around depending on what time of day it was. My mom actually took me to pick it out and told me to pick a watch for my older sister. I was so confused when I opened it up on Christmas day and tried to give it away! It took a lot of convincing from my mom for me to actually believe it was mine!
I'm a follower and your blog is wonderful! I can't remember any specific Christmas gifts. But my favorite Christmas memory is the time I spent with both of my Grandmothers making candy this time of year.
Love your blog! My favorite gift was my new camera!!! So much better than the old one and I'll get to use it for Christmas morning pictures since I got to open it early!

The best gift I have given is toddler doctor scrubs to my neice and nephew with their nicknames inscribed as "Dr. (insert nickname here), with the nicknames given to them by their father who is in medical school. They loved them.
One of my favorite gifts was a compilation CD my mom burned for me of all of my fav songs growing up. Air Supply, Alabama, Elvis, The Hollies, Oakridge Boys, Asia, Foreigner. It was great and you could tell that my mom had me in the 80's:) [email protected]
one of my favorite gifts was a sewing machine i got a few years ago!
Amy,
Love your blog!
It's hard for me to pick a favorite anything, but I think the best Christmas gifts I have ever received were the ones that had the most heart/history in them. My grandmother once gave me an original work of art that she made just for me. My aunt once gave me some articles that had belonged to my great grandmother. My host mother in Germany gave me a little trinket to remind me of a tender conversation we had once had. None of the gifts cost much, but they're all priceless to me.

My best gift was the birth of my son last year just before Christmas.

Amy, I appriciate all the time you put into your ideas and posting them for all to see. You have the greatest ideas and I love learning new things from you. I think my favorite gift I have given someone for Christmas is a quilt I made for my sister after my dad passed away.

You are such and inspiration! The best gift I am giving this year is a suitcase with drawers that I know my mom will love! And I love to give, I could get nothing and would be happy to give!
I'm a follower! When I was in high school our family decided to give a little girl a Christmas instead of getting something from my grandparents for Christmas. My grandma was mad because we used her money on somebody else, but we were happy to have given somebody else something they needed!
(Sorry, I deleted my other one because I forgot my email!)

My family has always revolved around music. My mother is a music teacher and has taught each of us to play the piano. Our family piano was an old up-right piano that was pretty beat up. A few years ago, my dad surprised my mom with a baby grand piano. Most of our favorite memories involve being around the piano together as a family and my dad wanted to continue that tradition with a brand new piano! She was so surprised and it was a very fun holiday!

best gift…easy bake oven when i was little.
Great giveaway!
My best Christmas gift? My daughter! She was a bit of an early present last year (born on the 11th), but we were just so thrilled to have her with us, happy and healthy, for Christmas last year. :)
I'm a follower to your blog and just love checking out your rockin' ideas. Thank you. The best gift I ever received was a quilt that my mom made just for me. It's still my favorite blanket to snuggle up in!

All the best Christmas gifts I am giving this year are things I made from your site!
I believe the best Christmas gifts are ones that you make with your own hands, ones that come from the heart. I have sewn most all of my gifts this year, and I have included with them the keychains that you featured on here! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial! Happy Holidays!

Best gift I got arrived just before Christmas last year. My newborn infant and I arrived home from the hospital in time to celebrate with the family. She is perfect in every way!
my grandparents bought each member of the family some aid for less fortunate people in africa.
it was such a lovely gift. our family "purchased" (through them) a cow to give milk to a village. my grandparents gave us a plastic cow figurine to symbolise the gift and remind us that presents don't have to be bought in stores.
Such wonderful ideas on your blog. I don't know that this is the "best" gift, but one thing we've started doing for other families is an annual membership to a local museum/zoo/etc. that they can all use and enjoy together. Much better than shopping at the store for siblings we don't see often.
The best gift I got for Christmas was 4 years ago when my son was born!
Love love love your blog! Thanks for all you do!

I think the best gift I have given will be this year to my mom! I love to suprise her. It's hard to do. But all the siblings got together and we got her a beautiful painting she had been wanting for 2 years! I can't wait to see her face!
When I was in high school my dad made me this beautiful cedar chest. I absolutely love it – it's gorgeous.
PS – I love your blog.
How fun! The best present I have ever given would probably be the scrapbooks I have made. I put a lot of time, money and love into them. Anyone I have ever made them for absolutely loved them! The best present I can remember getting was a pink bike when I was little. :)
The bestgift I am giving this year happens to be a giveaway win and it is perfect. A monogrammed piano bag for my sissy!

one of the best gifts i recieved from my dad was camper shell for my truck and a cd player installed. after 10 years, we still have the truck and have had many fun and crazy adventures in it :)

The best gift I ever got was a remote control airplane. It didn't fly, but it drove around. I thought it was the best, as ALL I wanted that year was "boys toys". Santa worked it out all right!: )
Love your blog!!

I love your blog and appreciate all of your ideas. My family and I have had a ball trying many of your ideas. My best gift I was ever given was the year my husband was unemployed and we had four kids and no money for Christmas. A kind annonymous friend sent us a Christmas card with $300 cash. It was enough to get our kids presents. That friend was our true Santa.
I am addicted to your blog. I love reading it every day. My favorite gift that I received was a Carribbean Cruise from my hubby. Thanks Amy!
Your blog is so inspiring! The best Christmas gift I'll be giving this year is a donation toward my friend's mission trip to Indonesia.

I was raised in a family that taught us never to expect anything because expecting meant that you felt entitled to something. My father always took us EVERY year to visit sick children at the hospital. Usually the children with some form of cancer and had to be hospitalized most of their time. We would purchase several stuffed animals, crayons, and coloring books and hand them out to the children. Other than my first camera, there is not much more that I remember receiving, but I will certainly keep the memories of those children (some who sadly are no longer living today) in my heart forever.
I love your blog! Thanks for all the great ideas. I made Hot Chocolate on a Stick just yesterday…LOVE it!
Great giveaway! The first Christmas after our son was born, my husband gave me a lovely diamond ring. He wanted to show me how much he loved me and our new baby.
best gifts given was to my mom, a 40th year anniversary photo book with memories written to them from my siblings. pretty awesome. Love you site, thanks for all the great ideas.

I'm super excited about the elephant I made my daughter for Christmas! The most excited I remember ever being for a gift was when I was little and we got a Super Nintendo for Christmas:)

I am a new follower! My best gift ever is my awesome husband…we were married just before Christmas in 1998!
pbs (at) canby (dot) com
I just started following your blog. I love all the cute ideas!! Your photography is great, too! My best Christmas present was my husband. :o) We got married 14 years ago today! :o) Each Christmas our love grows deeper and stronger. I'm so thankful for him!
Great blog… My youngest daughter turns 3 on the 21st and we had a little party for her last night. Make Hot Chocolate on a Stick for adults to take home and reindeer food as the favors. Everyone thought I was a genius… I pointed them to your blog and said I'm not the genius- read this blog! Ok… best Christmas present? My whole family lives in California but I live in NC. My brother joined the army at 32 and got stationed in Fort Bragg NC (miracle!) His kids are in Cali too but he can't afford to fly back for Christmas and see his kids one last time before he deploys to Afgahnistan. Needless to say, we aren't going back either. But, my dear friend asked what his full name is, and the dates of his leave. 30 min later she called me back and said that she booked him a flight and he is going home. We have tried and tried to thank her and her husband a million different ways but she just says to thank God because it is by his provision alone that they are able to do this and to let it be a thank you for all that he does to serve our country. BEST CHRISTMAS EVER is knowing that my niece and nephew will be with their daddy!!!

The best give I ever GAVE was a memory jar for my parents. We filled a jar with little slips of paper where a favorite memory was written. Everything from childhood moments to their grandchildren's memories. It is still a much loved gift.
I LOVE YOUR BLOG! What a fun giveaway. The best Christmas present I ever received was my 1st baby boy born on Dec. 22nd 1999. When we came home from the hospital, we put him under the Christmas tree in his carrier and sat and looked at him with the sparkling lights and it was a perfect moment! He was all we needed or wanted. The best present I ever gave was I made a double sided Cougar fleece blanket for my hubby. One side had their logo, and the other had Cougar paw prints and I did the cute knot thing on the edges. I had 2 little kids and was pregnant and sick and had been trying to finish my little kids' blankets for Christmas. He had no idea I had managed to make one for him in between being sick and taking care of my other little guys. He opened it up, pulled it out and almost teared up. To get a big tough high school football coach to tear up is quite an accomplishment.
Anyways, sorry so long. I do love your blog. Thank you for sharing your creativity and inspiration with us and wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas! [email protected]
One of the best Christmas presents I have received was a sewing machine from my husband 3 years ago! I love to sew now and your blog has so many great ideas – Thanks!
My husband proposed to me in the front seat of his pickup truck at 12:06 am Christmas morning back in 2001. I was totally shocked.
Then on the week of Christmas 2006 we went to go see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. I had wanted to see it for years and it was one of their final performances. I was pregnant with my twins at the time which made it that more memorable. I cried at the end. It was just such a sweet love story.
I'd love to win your giveaway. phonio (at) yahoo (dot) com
I think my favorite gift, is the gift of service. Every year we pick a family that is going through some hard times and do Christmas for them. I love it.
[email protected]
I would have to say the "handsfree" device I received last year for my car. I live in California and it's a big NO NO to drive around holding your phone. I feel safer while driving the kids around.
i am brand new to your blog and i am just loving it…thank you for all the inspiration. my mil gave me her mother's wedding ring a few years ago and that was my best gift…..until last year. after three years of praying, we found out on christmas morning that we were expecting baby three. it was certainly a glorious gift and a glorious day.
I just became a follower to your blog. I have been a secret follower for the past month. I found you by mistake and love to check back and see what is new. I think the best gift I have ever given is what I am going to give to my father this year. He is fighting cancer and doing chemo which makes him really tired. He lays out in the back yard in patio furnature with a pillow. I made one of those 20 min pillowcase in cowboy print. because now he thinks he is a cowboy although we live in florida and embroidered his name on it. i think it will bring him cheer in this time he really needs to know that we are fighting and praying for him.
[email protected]
Thank you for the great ideas!
My favorite gift had to be a painter's easel that my hubby stayed up late making for me.
[email protected]
My best gift was my son who was injured during birth and not expected to live or "have a quality of life" being able to come home for Christmas.
I am so glad your blog has so many followers…you have such fun ideas, Laurie has always looked up to you and I can see why. My favorite christmas gift, was a wreath My husband surprised me with when we were newly married and had no money. we were shopping in a boutique and I absolutely loved it but new it wasn't a necessity in my life at that time. Huge surprise for me to see it on my couch christmas morning. Aren't husbands so great!
The best gift I have received would be last year when my husband surprised me with a bed set that he designed and made himself. It is amazing! He is so good to me.
My best Christmas present was my baby boy born December 25, 2003. My due date was January 1, 2004. My husband said he either wanted the first baby of the New Year or a Christmas baby. Low and behold, I woke up Christmas morning and my water broke. My hubby and I don't even exchange gifts anymore because nothing can compare to the gift of a baby on Christmas!
I really love all of these things so I can't imagine how great it would be to win! My best present received was a camera. I love exploring the world through my lense!
I LOVE your blog!! The best gift I ever got was when I was 7. In my family, we drew names for Christmas and my oldest brother had mine. We didn't have a lot of money and the one thing I wanted was a Dream-Glow Barbie. He worked for the few weeks leading up to Christmas to save money so he could buy me that Barbie! It meant so much to me and it still does!!
Merry Christmas!!

I received my favorite Christmas gift at age 16. I had asked my parents for a silver tea and coffee set. They could not imagine why a teenager would want such a gift and they told me the set was too expensive. Imagine my surprise Christmas morning when the silver set was under the tree with a big red bow on it. That was 40 years ago and I still display it proudly in my home. This gift started my love for silver which I now have collected for many years.
This year is shaping up to be a great Christmas. Although our baby girl was actually born on Oct. 9., but I keep telling her that she is the best Christmas present ever. Also, after being out of work for over 6 months, my husband just got a job this week. These are all the gifts I need!
Hi! I love your blog. You are so talented! I hope that you and your family will have a wonderful Christmas season.
The best present I ever gave to someone: when I was only 1-year-old, my grandfather died. When he was alive, he would put 3 half-dollars on the table in front of me while I sat on his lap. My dad, aunts, and uncles say that Grandpa got the greatest joy out of seeing me try to pick up the 3 coins with only 2 hands. Daddy says that Grandpa would laugh and laugh as I picked up 2 of the coins, then realized there was still 1 on the table, put 1 down and picked up the 1 that was there, then realized there was STILL 1 on the table. One of the reasons everyone remembers Grandpa doing this with me is because he hardly ever laughed (he'd had a hard life). So, when my grandpa died, he had 2 half-dollars in his pocket. The family had those half-dollars framed as pendants and given to me. One year, for Christmas, I presented one of the framed half-dollars to my oldest brother. The whole family was crying, but my brother had always wanted one of the coins. He says that is the best present he was ever given. These 2 coins, for my family, represents our love for each other and happy times shared.
May the Lord bless you and your family this year and in all the years to come! And, may you always know the love of a wonderful family!
Thanks so much for sharing your ideas and thoughts with us on your blog.
always, Lisa ([email protected])
"Santa" gave my kids a pet hedgehog 2 years ago. It was so fun- and the story leading up to it was great fun to tell others. It was a total shock. I love your blog. You're really creative.
