This Giveaway is now CLOSED!
I took a little break from doing giveaways the past few weeks but am excited to be able to offer a really great and totally practical giveaway item this week…
I was given a Black & Decker Steam Mop to review and I have to tell you…I really genuinely liked it. It is very lightweight and worked so well. My floors had gone a two weeks since the last time I had mopped it and you could tell. There were a few sticky areas that had been on my floor from when I made some freezer jam. One simple swipe of the mop cleaned right up. I also thought the mop moved easily around my kitchen chairs and table with the swivel head. The mop also came with a couple of cleaning pads. Then when you are finished you simply remove them and throw them into the washer. No need to buy cleaning pads at the store and all of the extra waste.
One thing that I liked about this steam mop was that it has an adjustable setting so that you can use it on different types of flooring. Of which I have several in my home. So I can use the mop on my wood kitchen floors and then go straight to cleaning the tile in my laundry room by simply turning the dial. And I was surprised at just how much steam the mop did produce. I really felt like it did a great job on my floors. I also liked that I didn’t have to use any harsh chemicals either. I just simply added water.
Today I get to give ONE lucky Idea Room Reader a Black and Decker Steam Mop.

Thanks Black & Decker for sponsoring this fun giveaway. Good Luck everyone!
Perhaps my favorite thing about this mop…is the fact that ALL of my kids BEGGED me for a turn to mop the floor! Could easily be worth it right there in that one fact alone. I could get used to that!

One day while unloading my groceries, my adorable 3 year old decided to bring a gallon of milk in on her own. She got it in the house, into the kitchen and dropped it on the floor. The milk carton broke and I had a gallon of milk to clean up in my kitchen! (Luckily it wasn’t on the carpet).

I would love to win this and I think it’s actually my favorite Black & Decker product right now – I have it saved in my wishlist on Amazon :)

Oh my goodness, I was just thinking this weekend how nice it would be to own a steam mop for our hardwood floors! My husband and I just bought our first home and desperately need something like this to clean and sanitize our floors! My dog sometimes has accidents in our family room on our nice, hardwood floors and I would love to be able to clean and sanitize it at the same time! Unfortunately, right now this isn’t in our budget. It would be wonderful to win.
Thanks for the opportunity.

I think the biggest mess I have ever had to clean up was when my boys decided it would be fun to have a snowball fight in the house…with POWDERED SUGAR!! My kitchen was sticky even after mopping it down 10 times…not a fun one…but a funny picture for sure!!
I went to the Black & Decker site and think the Pivot Vac™ 18V Cordless Pivoting Hand Vac would be great for little spills or to clean out the car! That’s a favorite of mine.

Honestly besides spilled cereal the only big mess I have ever had to clean up was a bottle of bubble bath on the floor my 18 month old decided to dump out while I was showering!
I am moving to a new house this week and would LOVE to have this for the hardwood, tile and vinyl floors throughout the house. With 4 kids, I always seem to have a mess. :) But one of the biggest was when I spilled cheese (you know, the kind for nachos) all over the floor when I took it out of the microwave, burning myself in the process. This mop sure would have been nice for cleaning that up!
My 3 year old daughter is so independent she insists on getting her own drinks from the fridge. Once, when I was in the shower she decided to help herself to some milk. I came out to almost an entire gallon on the floor. Ugh!
big mess? when my son dropped the (open) gallon of milk ….. milk on the floor, milk on the cabinets, milk on the CEILING!

Thanks for the giveaway!
I totally need this. I constantly clean up messes at my house. My boys seem to find it impossible to eat over their plates, which means there is always enough food under my table to feed a small country!
I facebooked about you!
We had a milk problem too. My daughter (3) came and told me she had spilled some milk. Thinking she was talking about a few drops from her glass I finished stripping the sheets off my bed and put them in the wash. I walked out to find she had tried to make herself cereal and had spilled a half gallon of milk. It was all over the table, dripping on the chairs, and all over the floor. That mess is right there is in our 10 ten messes of all time.

I always have big messes to clean! My toddler and dog make sure of it ;)
Big mess?
Okay, once upon a time I had a baby boy. One day he turned 13 months old and learned to walk. I have been cleaning up that big mess ever since. (he is now 2.5).
:)
P.S. I am now a follower of your blog!
I had a run in with a jar of green salsa. It was not a pretty sight. :) I would have definitely appreciated the help of this little mop~
could be that I am in serious need of a new waffle iron but I would LOVE their Belgian Waffle Maker!
Amy I would DIE to win this!! Seriously I want one more than anything!!
I have a two year old so big messes are a daily occurrence. One that happened recently is we were making mac and cheese and she decided to pick up the open box…needless to say, the pasta went ALLLL over the house. I am still not sure how pieces made it to the bedrooms.

I love this cleaner. I worn mine out and have not been able to replace it. It take me three hours to clean my floors without it. Last week my grandson dropped a pint jar of honey and broke it. have you ever tried to clean up honey with a mop. not good.
A big jar of pickles almost made it back in the fridge. Broken glass, pickles and pickle juice everywhere.
Gosh, it’s been a while since I had a really big mess… but so many littler (is that a word?) messes, for sure. One big one that first comes to mind was when my twin daughters were little and one of them dropped a carton of eggs, spilling the carton’s contents onto the floor. What a mess! Raw eggs are not much fun to clean up. ;) Totally could have used a steam mop then! My daughters are turning 22 at the end of the month. Would so love to win, thanks for the chance. I really need one of these!!!
Thanks for sending me to Black and Decker’s FB page I liked it. And I have been a follower of Ideal Room on FB for quite sometime now. Would love to win this I have kids and animals in the house all the time. This would be perfect!!!
I have three little boys, so we have lots of messes. One big oops happened when my two year old spilled honey…yes! sticky honey on the carpet!
I follow the idea room via rss feed..and love all of your fantastic ideas!
I’m already a follower! Love your blog. :)
I have 3 kids and hardwood floor, I could use a steam mop everyday! 2 year olds are messy eaters!
Tweeted it yo.
I would love a mop like that. My tile floor tears up traditional sponge mops and I know the steam would do a better job.
I follow Idea Room on Facebook and you’re in my RSS reader.
Thanks!
My family has a pizza night about once a week. My kids get to pick out a soda to share, it’s a real treat for them. BUT inevitably (even though the soda is in a sippy cup) someone drops their drink, the top pops off and I have to clean sticky soda off the hardwood floors. A mop like this might save my knees!
I hate it when eggs get dropped on the floor….ewwwwww!
My 3 year old daughter wanted to help bring in the groceries. She was carrying the carton of eggs and I was carrying in the gallon of milk. I was afraid she was going to drop the eggs, so I quickly put the gallon of milk on the counter, apparently too close to the edge. Of course the milk fell off the counter and went every where. The eggs were safe though!
just yesterday, we had to clean up spilled ketchup that splattered all over the kitchen floor and walls. Then soon
after that my little 5 year old spilled the homemade whip cream all over the floor. fun day!
My biggest mess to clean up was a bottle of spilled apple juice… sticky!! The steam mop would have come in handy.. lol
The biggest mess would be kool aid spilled all over my the counter and floor
My almost two year old daughter has discovered all the goodies that Momma hides in the fridge. I keep my kitchen hand towels, (well I USED to…) hanging over the fridge handle for easy access in the kitchen. Being the little MacGuyver that she is, she has found that if she takes both hands on the sides of the kitchen towels she can use that as a lever to open the fridge door. I was vacuuming the living room and when I do this she usually runs and hides from me. I assumed she was running and hiding from the evil vacuum when all of a sudden I heard a huge SPLASH! So loud in fact that I turned off the vacuum to try and register if I actually heard something. I walked into the kitchen and there was my daughter holding her freshly opened large bottle of Welch’s juice upside down in her hands – completely empty. I had a white grape juice covered kitchen. Not only was it a huge mess, but it was a huge STICKY mess at that! If only I had had a Black and Decker Steam Mop!!!

Let’s just say that blueberries and a 3-year-old boy left alone in the kitchen don’t mix. First he knocked the container into the floor, then he stepped on them. Every.Single.One.Of.Them. If you’ve ever tried to get squished blueberries out of grout, you understand why I cringe every time I see a blueberry! This girl would LOVE a Black and Decker steam mop!
I liked the B&D FB page, and told them The Idea Room sent me.
Biggest mess ever is from my 2 year old daughter that LOVES nail polish. She got into her sisters and we now have a beautiful, very colorful floor.
The biggest mess I had to clean up was when my dishwasher in my new home had a hole in it and the sudsy detergent had flowed all into the kitchen. Needless to say the seller replaced it with a brand new dishwasher, but that was difficult to clean up.
My favorite B&D product is my cordless drill.

My big mess came after a contractor sanded down our popcorn ceiling – dust EVERYWHERE, even though they taped off the area they were working in and used a vacuum attachment to collect the dust. Gah!

WIth three little boys I don’t think I can single out one single big mess! My floors always need a mop!
Checked out the Black & Decker site, and that 15.6V cordless hand vac looks awesome. I needs me one of those! ;)
Um, HELLO? Yes please! I have 3 boys 4 and under! We have LOTS of big messes! The one I hate the most is when my baby swats at the baby food and we have a whole jar of pears/peas/whatever ALL over the floor!
Oh goodness…having a toddler in the house…when do I NOT have a huge mess to clean up? Lately, my son has found it HILARIOUS to sip up a mouthful of whatever he’s drinking and then start laughing….which spills juice or almond milk or what-have-you all over…..I don’t know where he got that from or why he thinks it’s funny, because I can tell you right now that it is NOT!! My mom has a steam mop that I have been jealous of for a while now….I want one!
I’ve been following you through google connect.
My favorite Black & Decker product is the trimmer. I like that it has an interchangeable battery that I can use in my cordless B&D drill. So smart!

Wow could I ever use one of these. With two rambunctious little boys…when is there not a mess to clean up? The worst was when one of them was helping to stir the Jello, it ended up all over the kitchen floor. We found sticky spots for days.
a huge puddle of water mess on my hardwood floor only a couple hours after it got newly installed. My husband and I just cried and cried and cried. (well, maybe just me)
I am one of your dedicated followers.
I love my under the counter coffee maker by Black & Decker, but we have several products including a handheld vac that is perfect for our stairs and my van.
I am constantly washing my floors! I get on my hands and knees and scrub about every other day or so. I have never found a mop that does it better than me. The dog goes outside and tracks mud in, the kids drop something out of the fridge or hubby spills something and leaves it there! I could totally use this!!
Oh yeah! I have a B&D paper shredder that I absolutely LOVE! It has a slot for papers, cards (old debit/credit cards), and even CDs! Super handy to have. Plus, the safety features are fantastic. It stops running if the lid is removed and won’t start again if it isn’t replaced properly.

Oh! OH!! We also have a B&D car waxer/polisher that my husband loves and our neighbors are envious of. I think it spends more time in the hands of my brother-in-law than it does ours though….
My daughter and her friend decided to make red Kool-Aid one day this summer. When putting it back in the fridge, they spilled “a little”. Granted, they did their best at cleaning up, my kitchen floor took several moppings to finally get rid of the sticky red stuff! This B&D steam mop would have been a lifesaver!

The biggest mess I’ve ever had to clean up was when my husband, who was standing on a dining chair to put up window trim slipped and fell into our dining table. The table was set for dinner that was cooking. He crashed into the middle of it breaking dishes, table, glasses, food sprawling….and my eldest son had his girlfriend home at the time. Food , glass, and splinters of lots of things everywhere.
BABY POWDER = NIGHTMARE! Can’t seem to get all of it up!

i was carrying two gallon jugs of fruit punch (think pineapple juice, lemon juice, tons of sugar, and RED jello) to my bunch bowl across the kitchen. Clumsy me, I tripped spilling the entire contents of both jugs all over my kitchen floor, walls, and some even splattered onto my windows. Needless to say it was quite a mess. A steam mop has been on my list of “wants” for quite some time. I would love to win since having two small children, a messy husband, and three dachshunds leave plenty of messes, not to mention my own little “oopsies.”
Thanks so much for the opportunity to win : )
The biggest mess I think I have had to clean up was when I accidentally cut my finger with a knife when I was trying to get an avacado pit out. Blood was everywhere. I was home alone so I called my parents to come help. My mom sent my dad. Well, he cleaned up me (my finger) then left. I had blood all over the tile floor and the counter. And I had just mopped to, so I had to do it all over again.

Well this morning when I walked out onto my back patio I was greeted by thousands of ants (they made their way up to the dog house and were enjoying a nice breakfast of dog food). Not sure a steam mop would help there though! When my daughter was just over 1 she pulled a giant bowl of nacho cheese sauce off the bottom shelf of the fridge, the bowl shattered and nacho cheese sauce went everywhere! It was a super mess of glass shards and sticky cheese.

I can’t say that I’ve ever had a really “big” mess, but i have messy floors ALL the time…..especially during the winter when they put down a TON of snow melt and it gets tracked in on my wood floors. I would LOVE to win this steam mop, I’ve been looking for a new mop. Thanks for the chance to win!
Totally the most used B&D tool in the houseis the drill! My hubs and I both use it often!
Big mess huh?
I live in rural alaska, where there is constant mud and de icing sand getting tracked through my house. Not to mention 3 kids, I have to mop at least every other day and my floors still don’t feel clean!

My son apparently dropped a Wendy’s Frosty on the floor once (which stinks when your dining room is carpeted! Yuck!). I got that cleaned up really quickly. But what we DIDN’T notice until it had dried and accumulated other dusty stuff, was that it had splattered THROUGH the banister on my stairs and ALL the way up the wall over my stairs! Those are vaulted ceilings on the main floor and the stairs that were under that spot was more than halfway down! We had to get our mop as wet as possible and then lean over the banister to try to get the stickiness off the wall. Oh, and I was pregnant and my husband was away. So my dad ended up having to do it because I couldn’t push hard enough with a belly in the way! Wow, what a mess!
If you haven’t tried the cordless vac you must. I use it on everything… the car, car seats, high chairs, couches, my stairs! It’s a wonder tool!!

Not to be corny, but the steam mop is TOTALLY my favorite B&D product and I’ve been wanting one for a while! Your review just helped sell me on the idea! :)
My live Christmas tree made a HUGE watery, pine needle filled mess on my living room hardwood floors last year….it was a disaster. Artificial for me from now on! Thanks so much for the giveaway :)
I would love one of these I’m constantly making a mess in the kitchen. I think the biggest mess lately is I forgot to put a liner in my daughter’s bottle before I put the formula in and didn’t realize it till it was running onto the floor. On top of that I was already running late.
This is a great giveaway. My biggest mess? We decided to make rootbeer floats for a family party. I was opening the rootbeer and it decided to shoot out of my hands like a rocket. I was wearing a white shirt (of course) and was covered in foamy rootbeer but so was the entire kitchen – floors, cabinets, even the ceiling. This would have been great to have then!

With 4 kids, I have PLENTY of big messes! But I think the worst was an exploded can of orange juice. It was so so so sticky and it was EVERYWHERE.
I could have used this mop just the other day when I spilled a huge cup of delicious iced coffee complete with caramel all over my kitchen floor. Talk about a sticky mess!
Orange juice and milk on my carpet. A LOT of it! Ugh!
When my 18month old took off her poopie diaper in the kitchen and started jumping on it. yuck!
Big mess….has anyone ever accidently left the lid off of the blender? yeah not a fun mess to clean up!

The biggest mess I ever cleaned up was when the 3 year old I was nannying got into the peanut butter and “decorate” the entire kitchen and dining room. He looked so cute when I caught him that I couldn’t even be mad. The bad thing was that I only had about 30 minutes to clean him and it all up before his dad came home.
i had the biggest mess when my son drop a 16 oz can of coke on my kitchen floor. it spun around like a top when it when was over. i had coke from the top of my cabinets to the floor. and i have white cabinets….
I have two little boys. There are always messes to be cleaned up. I would have loved a mop like this when I dropped my babies bottle of milk all over the floor.
I find myself cleaning up messes often, but one of the worst was when my son decided to “paint” the curtains and carpet with white-out!
I love the good ol’ DustBuster!
Wow! amazing giveaway, so glad you got this one!
I would absolutely LOVE this baby :) I follow you!!

The biggest mess I have ever cleaned up.. was when my kitties decided it was a GREAT idea to knock 8 bowls of cake mix (coloured rainbow colours) and then roll around in it.. It was the worst.. worst thing I have ever seen, it was absolutely everywhere!!
Plus I had to wash them, which they werent happy about…
I have been considering a steam mop for awhile now but did not know how well they worked! Thanks for the review! Hmmm, just one big mess??? :) My daughter spills her milk almost weekly. The dog loves to drag mud and dirt in the house. And I’m sure to have something burn over on the stovetop at least once a week. The trifecta on the days it all happens at the same time! :)
You know how in the movies someone has a hard time to open a bag of something and when they finally get it open it rips open and goes everywhere? Yeah, that would be me and an entire box of Trix cereal that we had JUST bought at the store. Just imagine Trix cereal pieces over my entire kitchen. The kids loved it and started eating it off the floor, of course I stopped that pretty quick but they love to tell the story of the day the Trix cereal exploded. :)
I was making BBQ chicken legs and after broiling the chicken in the oven, I was smothering them in BBQ sauce and SOMEHOW knocked the edge of the dish and it tumbled off the counter, down the cupboard, onto the floor, and even on the wall. HORRIBLE! Luckily my dogs were quick to help me clean up.

I would love to win this! I’ve wanted a steam mop for a while now! There are many times this happens but whenever I just mop the floor something seems to always spill the day it happens. And of course one day it did and it happened to be red Kool-aid! Great a colored sticky mess on my newly cleaned floor. A mop would have been great to clean up the sticky mess.
I loved my B&D Sander. And I would love a new mop! My kitchen floor is awful!

I am two dogs and my kids often forget to check paws before letting them in and one time they were very, very muddy. Mud was everywhere!!
I don’t have anthing black and decker but I have been eyeing this steam mop since I have found out about it. When our house flooded we replaced most of our carpet with tile. Oh and the regular mop is not cutting it. We need this to help keep our house clean.
Two year olds and a full bottle of baby powder are not a good mix on the tiled floor of my home. Enough said. At least it smelled nice in my house, even if it was a huge mess!
My favorite B&D appliance is my griddle. I use it several times a week and love it. Thanks for the chance to win!
I use so many different B&D products, I have their drill – which I love to pieces! I have their grass trimmer, a vacuum cleaner, a sander, tool set, and I’m sure I’m forgetting more!
When my cat decided to knock over a full glass of pop…all over the floor, carpet, couch, etc!
I am dying for one of these! And I desperately need one — in one day, I had a blender full of strawberry smoothie explode, 2 piles of dog throw-up, shampoo dumped on the floor and smeared around, glue & two bottles of glitter sprinkled — all on my kitchen floor! I could really, really use it. :o)

I was doing laundry and dropped the liquid detergent on the floor, spilling it everywhere. After scraping up what I could still use, it took forever to get the thin film completely off the floor and it was especially difficult to get the pools of it out of the grout in the tile. A lot of paper towels were used!
Two toddlers, one dirty diaper…everywhere. I don’t think anymore explanation is needed. Let’s just say we were cleaning for awhile :)
My son decided to make our laundry area a skating rink. He dumped 3/4 of a bottle of laundry soap all over the floor(the tow times concentrated type). It went under the washer and dryer, down the hall, and into the bathroom. It was so slippery! He gave himself away by falling several times on the floor and then he laid their crying unable to move while I tiptoed through the slime to rescue him. It took me 2 hours and every towel in the house to clean it up. Then I had to rinse all the towels out in the tub because I was afraid it would cause the washing machine to bubble over. The kids thought the bubbly mess in the tub was fun to see. I was to frustrated to laugh then, but I do now!

Somehow my dogs got into a large box of baking mix and i came home to a huge mess all over my kitchen floor. i really could’ve used a Black and Decker steam mop back then.
A mess! Oh man, I am super messy. I find everything falling on the floor. The hardest part is keeping the dog from eating all the things that I drop. Some of the grosser messes, have to do with the dog, and all the wonderful things that come from her… and the not so wonderful. There are several times, that she has um, released some things, and let me keep it clean here so I will just tell you that it smells terrible, and is the WORST thing to clean up! Almost all of our floors are tile, wood, and laminant. <— yes, I am the worst speller! I would LOVE to win this!!
I follow the idea room and would love to win the steam mop.
Everyday there is a blig mess in my house! Just this morning my 2 yr old droped and broke a bottle of salsa. 2 little boys of my own and by niece who I watch most days, (4,2 and 1). Yep a big mess most days lol
And liked Black and Decker on FB
This steam mop would have been great for the pancake batter/ syrupy mess I created at breakfast yesterday! :)
Thanks!

I had just finished making some baby food for my daughter (peaches) when I turned around too quickly and bumped into one of my big kids and peaches went all over the floor…big sticky mess!

With a 3 year old boy there is always a big mess to clean up…LOL :)!!! He enjoys dumping things on the floor, coloring on the floor, dumping food and sand on the floor, etc., etc., etc. This steam mop is much needed and would be USED constantly :)! And when my son gets older I’d teach him how to mop up his own messes :)!!!
I tweeted about this awesome giveaway!
Thanks!

Oh, i would LOVE to win this! I have a HUGE kitchen floor! My daughter was 2, and it was Christmas Eve. I looked at her while my mom was holding her and could tell she was going to throw up….she did ALL OVER my moms newly waxed hardwood floor! that was the mess part, now the funny part….I have new slippers on and as I turned to run and get a towel to help clean, I slipped on the waxed floor and caught some MAJOR air landing flat on my back!! I would have LOVED a steam mop to use on the throw up to make sure the floor was disinfected!!
I am a TIR follower!!!
Thanks!

I love the black and decker small handheld vaccuums. I haven’t had one for awhile, but would sure love another one of those as well!
One of my biggest messes … for my daughter’s 5th birthday we had 20 little girls for a “tea” party. They were adorable in their hats and gloves, but we had lemonade and cookie crumbs everywhere! She’ll be 13 soon and wants a “dance” party with 40 girls … and boys! I would love to win this steam mop!
When my oldest two boys were ages 3 and 4, I realized one day that they were playing MUCH too quietly. I went to their room to see what they were doing, and they had cracked six eggs on their LIGHT bedroom carpet, and then poured 1/2 gallon of grape juice over it.
I rented a carpet cleaner and spent my whole evening cleaning that spot (it never quite came out completely) and when I was finished, my 4 year old looked at me and said, “I love a clean, clean house.”
Another time, my oldest covered his younger brother’s head (hair, ears, nose, and everything) with Desitin. Since it was waterproof, it wouldn’t wash out of his hair! I finally looked it up online and found that I had to add cornstarch to his hair before washing it.
Thanks for the chance to win! I used to have a Bissell Steam Mop, which I loved, but it stopped working after less than two months. I’m anxious to try a different brand, but don’t know which one.
I subscribe to your RSS/email feed :)

I adopted two kitties just over a year ago. I started out by keeping them in the bathroom until they got used to the house and I could trust them on the carpet. Between their food and litter box, I was mopping the floor twice a day!
I really, really wanna win this…I love my Black and Decker tool kit and if this works half as well, clean floors are no longer just a dream!
I would LOVE ONE of these! I’ve been pricing them out and saving my pennies to get one.
It’s a tie between when my son flipped on my Vitamix before I had the chance to put the lid on, and when he spilled a new bottle of pure maple syrup all down (and into) my cupboards. Those were fun!
When my daughter was 2, I had just made a pitcher of welch’s grape juice and put it in the fridge. When I went into the bathroom I suddenly heard a splash and a “uh oh”. I ran out to find her standing in a puddle of 2 quarts of purple grape juice all over my kitchen floor. I didn’t have any dark colored towels to sop up the majority of the juice so I had to mop and mop for an hour just to get it up, then I had to mop with cleaners a few times just to get the sticky off the floor. Needless to say, I bought a child proof fridge lock after that incident!
the biggest mess i have ever had to clean up was after one of my roommates moved out. apparently she kept half the refrigerator in her room, along with old tupperware and crumbs galore. it took a while to clean up all of the sticky messes from the walls and flooring (i don’t even know how she managed to do that!). thank goodness our apartment is not prone to ants !
i also subscribed to the RSS feed (via my google reader). i’m glad my friend pointed me in the direction of your blog!
my favorite black & decker product is my small red handheld vacuum. it’s perfect for cleaning up kitty litter and cat hair!
I love my black and decker power screw driver. It comes in handy ALL THE TIME!
I have been a follower of the idea room for over a year!
We live in the area in Arizona recently ravaged by the Monument Fire in June. One of the aftermaths of the fire has been all the black, sooty silt that comes in on our shoes, no matter how hard we try to clean our shoes before coming into the house. The majority of our home is tile floors, so I do a lot of mopping.. and I mean A LOT of mopping (pretty much every day!) This would be so wonderful to have.. thank you for the giveaway!

Worst mess – when my then 3 yrd old son decided to “paint” the dining room walls with salsa & guacamole left over from a party we hosted the night before! And yes he lived :) He’s now 25!

How about last night when my son dumped flour all over the kitchen floor, haha. I would LOVE THIS!!
With four young children, there is ALWAYS a mess to be mopped! I wouldn’t say it was the biggest, but certainly the least fun to clean up, was a plate with a corndog and a BIG blob of ketchup. The plate fell, and ketchup splashed all over the table, walls, chair and table legs! YUCK!
I was bringing groceries and set the watermelon on the counter. Well, it rolled off and broke all over the floor. It was a lovely, super sticky mess.
I so want to win this. My floor is always a sticky nasty mess and Is never clean. My kids spill so much that it s impossible to keep clean. This would be awesome!
My 15 month son decided that flour was a VERY fun thing to fling. He was in the kitchen by himself (which was around the corner from where I was) for 1 minute. When I walked in he and the entire kitchen was covered in flour. lol. At least I can laugh now. ;)

One of my favorite products is the stick vacuum. Great for cleaning up small messes.
It seems every time I cook I have a big mess. I think my fur-babies do it on purpose. They hit me behind the knees and make me buckle.

The last major mess I had to clean up was after a rather enthusiastic finger-painting event here at home with my 2.5 yr old. I think there was more paint on the floor than on the papers, newspapers and smock!
I have big messes everyday! But worst so far was when Thing 2 spilled and entire gallon of chocolate milk on the kitchen floor…we had to move the washer and dryer to get it all cleaned up… good thing he’s cute!
One big mess I had to pick up – while I was in the shower, my oldest son made himself a cup of chocolate milk and then left the chocolate mix out and my 2 year old got into it and dumped it all over the table and floor.
With four daughters and four dogs and a cat, I have to say that messes are all around. I would love to have this to help clean up every day mess.

I have yet to find a good way to clean our floors since we moved. Nothing just seems to do a deep clean on these floors, so I have been dying to try a steam mop. Right now we are potty training, so there are plenty of messes to clean up!
There was a time where my daughter Riley that she was “helping” me bake and took off with the flour and ran throughout the house and the flour went everywhere. I didn’t care so much about the carpet but ugh!…the hardwood floors…it was a nightmare! Hope I win this!!!

My husband has a couple Black and Decker power tools (drill and sander) and I know he loves them!!
When don’t I have a big mess to clean up? LOL! I think the worst is when my then 2 year old decided to color my tile, windows and sliding glass door with marker. Really? Every tile in the dining/kitchen area?
I follow you with google reader. Thanks!
I have a B&D laser leveler. It’s been wonderful for hanging curtains. A handy little investment!
Just yesterday I spilled Apple juice all over my kitchen floor…I hate juice. It is so sticky!!!
I use my husbands black and decker drill all the time.
A big mess? I feel like any time I feed my one year old its a big mess! There are constantly dried puddles of who-knows-what under his high chair. Hopefully a steam mop would fix that!
My two boys always want to put their drink cups on the floor, maybe because it is more easily accessed than the table or counter. I can’t even count how many times I have kicked over juice or milk or water that was left on the floor. Especially when I was pregnant and couldn’t see my feet. So many fun clean ups. They are finally getting the rule of putting the cups up off the floor.
My husband once dropped a whole bag of flour on the floor… it exploded! Add that to the fact that our dogs are messy water drinkers, and our floors were quite goopy!
I have twins and when they were toddlers the kitchen floor after mealtime was always a disaster zone!
Just the other day I had to clean up a whole canister of sugar that got dropped on the floor and I had a friend stop by to visit before I had the chance to get it cleaned up.
ok…my biggest mess to date…I have made it thru the kiddos and just about anything else that life has happened to throw at me…but the surprise came with a new addition to our family….(a little stray dog “Scruffy”) She got sick….so we thought.. and were treating her for heart problems…when here comes puppies…ok…my first time at delivery and then the mess that came along with it…you can only imagine……

Just last week I have my kids each a few slices of cheese for a snack and when i checked on them about 10 minutes later they had crumbled it into tiny pieces and made “cheese-cakes”. That was on the table but u can imagine what the floor looked like….and try sweeping up cheese smushed onto the floor…no easy task.

I would love to have a B&D cordless drill.
My favorite black and decker product is my little sander. It has done many projects with me!
My father-in-law bought me the hand held sander on his last visit. He used it for the deck chairs and I have used it on the deck. Great product!
I haven’t had any huge messes to clean since I only have one well behaved child. But….I just bought a house and the entire main floor is wood. I know something like that will come in handy when I need to clean those floors.
Hmm… this morning… when ants took over our kitchen floor, that was, awesome….
I currently mop my kitchen floor on my hands and knees with a wet rag, using mostly just water. My Swiffer handle bent and broke (the one for the dry mop) and my husband mistakenly threw out the wet mop Swiffer handle when we were moving. I so want a steam mop. Do I dare to dream?
I have been looking for a steam mop– and here it is! I am glad to hear you liked using it so much. I have had more dust than usual to clean up around the house. The basement is being finished and dust has found its way onto every surface in the house, especially the hardwood floors on the main level and the tile floors in the kitchen. I would love to use this B&D mop to clean it all up! Thank you!

i would clean up the big messes created by my 16 month old son and 6 year old daughter! I have to sweep and mop daily! Using a nice machine may make it fun! :)
I have a nine month old so it seems like every day he creates a bigger mess than the day before. I could definitely use this since he is down on his hands and knees crawling each day.
I teach art lessons at my kitchen table…I clean up big messes every week. :)
We bought my sister a B&D blender for Christmas…she loves it!
My favorite B&D product thus far has been my cordless drill so I don’t have to ask my husband for help or his tools all the time!
I have 5 little ones – when we first built our home, there was no grass yet, and lots of mud as it was spring… note one big mess, but a constant mess, none-the-less! Thanks for the giveaway!
I could have used this last week when I had a huge watermelon mess on my floor, or the week before when I made peach jam… or today when I have a couple of 3 year olds tracking mud on the floor!

just now when my 22 month old started rubbing his smoothie around bc although there was some left he was indeed finished. :) children are always a mess.
The biggest mess I have had to clean up lately has been the Spinkle-ocalypse in my kitchen a couple weeks ago. My three year old is obsessed with sprinkles and I forgot to put my sprinkle box awy after making cookies. She snuck in there while I was feeding the baby and got sprinkles EVERYWHERE. There was not an inch of floor that was not covered in sprinkles. I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry.
This mop would be great to clean up the peanut butter and jelly my daughter often drops on the floor!
The biggest mess I had to clean up was a gallon of milk that I dropped on the floor! It broke and spilled everywhere!

The biggest mess I had to clean up was when my husband was making strawberry daquaris and forgot to put the top on before he started the blender… we still have red spots on the ceiling.

Hi there!
One of the biggest messes ever was when my sweetheart & I tried our hand at making chokecherry jam. We heard of a method of extracting the chokecherry jucie using an old pillowcase and squeezing all the juice out. Well we sqeezed so hard that the pillowcase exploded. Chokecherry juice and pulp all over the ceiling, cupboards, floor, walls, us! The red, sticky mess looked like a crime scene. My sweetie & I will always have a good laugh remembering that!

Well, let’s see…..I have a 9 year old, 2 large dogs, 1 small dog, and 3 cats. Need I say more? LOL! It seems that my laundry room and kitchen floors are always in need of cleaning. The biggest mess so far I’d have to say is the 2 large dogs which are just puppies and we are potty training. Did I mention they are BIG puppies (Labs) with BIG messes? As in any ordinary household, we live in our house and it needs cleaned. The Black and Decker Mop would be a great thing to own. Thanks for the chance to win one!
I would love to win this! It never fails anytime I mop that night the kids spill something on the floor, usually something sticky like apple juice.
The biggest mess I have had to clean up is a bottle of syrup on carpet!

we are accident prone in our house, anything with glass jar has been known to fall and break and spill – milk, jam, salsa – fun to clean up!
We’ve had lots of what previous posters have described: flour, milk, sticky juice, leaky diapers (yucky), peanut butter, mud and most recently, toad pee (yeah, that was fun).
my four year old daughter decided to help my two year old daughter get in some poster paint, while I was distracted cleaning and packing the house for a vacation. There was green poster pain on floors, walls and carpet, clothes and children. I got everything except one small spot on the carpet cleaned up, despite my efforts. There is now cute rug in that room, covering up the green paint
I don’t own any black and decker products but I would love to win the steam mop!

I accidently dropped my container, and it spread every where!!!! We have hard wood floors, so it was in every groove and crack!! Plus all over my cabinets, went under the fridge- what a mess, then my crawling baby got in it as I was trying to clean it up! I would love a steamer!
Let’s see -spilled sticky lemonade or pasta sauce? I’m going with the pasta sauce. Thanks for a chance to win.

Our ice maker in our freeser quit working during the night. The line from the water connection to the freezer had split open and when we got up the next morning our carpet in the living room and the kitchen floor ( which is tile) was flooded.
I always think the aftermath of cleaning up a party is the worst. Drinks/food that spilled without anyone noticing or mentioning….yuck.
One big mess was cleaning up the kool-aide mess my son made trying to make kool-aide.
A bottle of syrup, and a container of Aquaphor. In the same day. Can you tell I need this mop?? Thanks for the giveaway.
I would love to win!! I’ve never had any crazy messes… Like a gallon of paint or honey… But I have three tiny kids who make their fair share of messes!!
My nine-month old daughter trying spaghetti sauce for the first time- noodles and sauce EVERYWHERE! Big mess for sure!
Almost every morning I sit on the floor and eat a bowl of cereal while playing with my 8 month old baby girl. And almost every morning she manages to grab the bowl resulting in dumping milk on my hardwood floors. You’d think I’d stop eating on the floor with her. Ha!
I’m also a fan of Black & Decker on Facebook and dropped them a line letting them know I came by way of you!
There isn’t just one time unfortunately. Kids give you messes all the time, but I love them anyway! :)
We just got a puppy and whenever she gets home from a walk she slops up her water spreading it all over the floor then runs around in it until her paw prints are everywhere.
thanks for the giveaway. I’d love to try this mop out especially since my tile grout is in need of a deep clean. Thanks!
I’m cleaning up disasters on a daily basis! My toddler has created some unspeakable messes! One that sticks out is when he spilled PURPLE paint on his brother’s, bedroom, floor. Or how aout the time when he emptied an entire bottle of baby lotion on himself and he bedroom floor (all carpet). Or how about the time when he emptied all of my spice jars onto my stove top. Sadly, that one has happened numerous times. *sigh*
I “liked” Black and Decker on FB and my favorite product that I own of theirs, are my sanders! I have used them for crafts, and many re-do projects!
I would love to win this mop!

My biggest mess had to be the time the flavored creamer bottle dropped out of the fridge and exploded all over everything. The floor was probably the worst place to clean that sticky mess from. This would have been a dream! Thanks so much for the giveaway!
I have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old. I have lots of messes to clean up. Most recently was the cake, fruit, and juice spilled and squished on the floor at their joint birthday party. Thanks for offering this great giveaway!
Actually, I have always loved the vacuums I buy from them…. they work amazingly well and seem to hang in there much longer than the competition. My brother permanently borrowed mine awhile back, so now I have to get another…. but it will be worth it.

Oh wow! I just realized how much I need one of these! :-) The most recent really messy spill was when I knocked over a bottle of canola oil! Now, that was a messy cleanup!

Oh I have had my eye on this! Cleaning up my daughter’s throw up on the kitchen floor is probably one of the biggest messes I’ve had to clean. Not fun.
I’ve actually had my eye on this product of theirs for awhile. I really want a steam mop to clean. I think it is probably my favorite product of theirs that I really want!
Love the Steam Mop with Smart Select Technology!
I would LOVE this! I have MANY stories of huge messes but one of the worst has to be when my oldest (then 2 or 3) got a hold of the Mentholadum and baby powder and in a matter of less than 2 min covered herself, hair, couch, floor and walls in both! It was weeks before all the greasy stuff came out of her hair!
I have been wanting one of these for a while now. The biggest mess I had to clean up was once I threw laundry into the dryer on my way out the door. When I got back I found the entire economy size bottle of Downy had shimmied off the dryer and spilled all over the floor. The spout broke so literally the entire bottle was in a huge puddle on the floor in front of the washer and dryer. It took me hours to clean it all up.

my (then) one year old got into the pantry and got out the cornstarch… dumped the entire thing on the floor, on him, on the shelves in the pantry, on the bench next to the pantry. Everywhere. I took a picture before I started cleaning. what else can you do, you know?!

I think the biggest mess I had to clean up was when I dropped an entire sheet of half baked cookies all over my kitchen floor and the inside of the oven. I was turning the pan to rotate them and lost my grip. It was awful. Melted chips and sugary batter everywhere.
two words….. Potty Training
OH Do I ever NEED one of these!!! It’s so hard to choose just ONE story my strong-willed child has graced her presents with something I needed to mop! But her FAVORITE is to find the cheerios box and empty contents. I do have to admit, I love the trail to go and find her! :D

The largest spill we ever had to clean up was when our then 2 year old son swung something, can’t recall what, into our 35 gallon fish tank smashing it to bits. Of course it had to be on our carpeting living room floor…Needless to say, we never replaced the fish tank LoL Our boys now have very small, table top tanks in their bedrooms!
I am already subscribed to your blog! Love it!
Miss 3 (at the time) found a bulk size can of hot chocolate mix that daddy had opened and left on the counter. She walked from the tile floor in the kitchen to the carpeted lounge and proceeded to party! I had to empty the vacuum canister twice. Bathe little miss and her baby brother. The very act of vacuuming sent clouds of the stuff around the room and even got on the ceiling fan. Needless to say Daddy was in the war books for leaving stuff in kids reach. Little Miss got a talking to and I went to bed early that night and watched movies by myself
I raised 5 teenagers, 4 of them boys, so obviously I have had many messes. One of my favorite was probably the gallon of syrup that exploded all over the kitech!! haha

My favorite item from the Black and Decker website is the Pivot Vac 18V Cordless Pivoting Hand Vac.
After reading this review, I am so lusting after this! How cool!
I think the worse mess was on our light beige carpet ~ I spilled most of a bottle of black India ink! I actually got most of it up with only a light gray stain left behind. But as for this mop, our kitchen could definitely use it right now with a toddler running around.
All my big messes tend to involve the cat. Ew! Thanks for the chance, I would love one of these!
I follow the blog too, thanks!

I can’t think of a huge mess that’s happened recently, but I have two cats who eat like little piggies and get their food and water everywhere! I have to clean it up at least once a day! A steam mop would help tons!
yesterday was one of the biggest messes i had to clean up. my 3 year-old spilled a full glass of milk… all over our breakfast table, her chair… and the floor.

One of the shelves on the door of my refrigerator fell off and hit the floor. Oh, my! Condiments splattered everywhere. I needed the steam mop then and I need it now!
There are a ton of entries :{ but I really want to win :) My biggest mess happened about a month ago. My four year old was on a chair trying to get something out of the pantry. She knocked some stuff around and a jar of Prego fell and hit the floor. The top somehow popped off and there was spaghetti sauce EVERYWHERE. The toughest job was getting it all off the ceiling.

I have two boys and two puppies, are you kidding when don’t I have a mess to clean up. Oh and a husband who is constantly doing home improvement projects. The most recent mess is a ceiling cave in and all the loose insulation that fell in with it. Would love this mop for the rainy season since the boys and dogs will inevitably track mud into every room fo the house.
a time? just one time? i live with two boys thats every week for me!

This is the highest black and decker product on my wishlist right now so I would say it is my favorite.
The biggest mess I cleaned up was probably the day I came home after a full day of work to find that my upstairs neighbors’ (who were also out all day)had a kitchen sink leak and one quarter of my kitchen ceiling (all the soaked layers of it) was on my counter, table and floor…and the dirty water had flooded the kitchen, run under the appliances, and was still dripping down.
But although it is now only my husband and me at home, so usually no major messes, I could sure use this B&D steam mop right NOW. Perfect timing. When my daughter was told she needs to be on complete bedrest…Grandma (ME) had to step in to take my 15 month old grand-daughter in with us. Fifteen-month olds love the floors…and I need to keep them clean…and my energy level is no longer that of a 15-month old! Need I say more?

I most recently have had to clean up more potty accidents than I care to count! I know messes totally get bigger than that, but I sure would love it if sanitizing the floor were easier than it currently is. :)

Our favorite Black and Decker product would have to be their drill set. With all of our home renovations, my husband and I use it a lot.
My daughter LOVES pickles and decided to get the SAM’S CLUB SIZE jar out of the fridge herself. Dropped it on our new tile floor and shattered the jar which then put pickles, juice and broken glass all over the place! She wasn’t hurt, happily, but our kitchen floor smelled like pickles for months!

I would LOVE to win this! There is always a big mess to clean up when all of our kids/grandkids get together here. Thanks for the opportunity!
As a mom to a 2 and a half year old and a three week old, there is no end to the big messes I see. Last night it was water ALL over the bathroom walls and floor after the 2 year old had a spaz moment in the tub!
I have recently had to clean up a very messy melted ice cream cone my daughter spilled on the floor & herself!
My boys decided to spray Pam all over our
Tile floors. It was slick for days even with us cleaning it up.
My dog, after 14 years of leaving our kitchen alone, attacked a cabinet while we were out and found the hidden stash of marshmallows and chips. We came home to puddles of marshmallows and a moat of chip crumbs. A steam mop would have been great to get the sticky marshmallow up!

Right now I have a big mess to clean up. Just taking a little break. I live in a old log cabin and we decided to get new carpet in my son’s room, well that led to sanding and refinishing the trim in his room and dust all over the house, I’ve been painting the walls and an old particle board armoir that the rest of the house is neglected. Because we don’t have air conditioning and it’s been so humid and wet, my kitchen cabinets have mold growing on them! YUCK! and the spiders in the windows are out of hand. So yes, I have a big mess to clean up. Thanks for a great giveaway!
Just the other day I dropped a whole jar of salsa and it went ALL over my kitchen and dining room. This Black and Decker steam mop would have come in handy.

My big mess was just this summer. While I was at work my boys aged 10 and 12 decided to make Jello Jigglers. Well, the first batch didn’t come out because they didn’t read the instructions and they didn’t realize you needed 4 boxes and they only had two. But they tried to make them anyway and put them in a cookie sheet. Yes, while trying to transfer the cookie sheet from my gas stove to the refrigerator they spilled it. The good part is they didn’t tell me. I came home and the floor was sticky in front of the stove and refrigerator. Then they told me they spilled it. I didn’t notice they had spilled it on the stove until a few days later when I went to use one of the burners and it wouldn’t light. I lifted up the top and there was Jello everywhere.

Ive been in the market for a steam mop because I am a total freak about my floors being clean (now that the baby is crawling all over it) and its a lot of work to fill up a mop bucket and mop every time! I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win this steam mop. It would make my day, week, maybe even year. Yes, I said it, a steam mop would make my year! Thanks, love your site!!!
The last BIG mess i had to clean was when my 2 year old son got into my indoor pot plant. There was dirt over the entire living room floor. Good times……
Oh, PLEASE pick me!!!! I totally need this right now! I have a 22 month old and 2 dogs so I feel like I clean up a sticky mess everyday! How do I just pick one? You know how when the ketchup bottle gets almost empty and so you turn it upside down and shake it really hard with one arm going straight up and then down. Well I was doing that and just guess what happened? Yes the lid came off and I had ketchup all over my entire kitchen, from ceiling to floor. Talk about one huge mess to clean up. I not only needed the steam mop, but a steamer for cupboards, counters, and ceiling!
Hmm…last spill I had to clean? Melted Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream on the kitchen floor.

I would love to have this steam mop. I could have used it last week when twins spilled ground cinnamon all over the floor! Or yesterday when my husband spilled Soda all over the floor also. Gotta clean!
Being the mother of two boys, I feel like I am in a constant state of cleaning up messes on my hardwood floors! We go from cleaning up stuck-on playdough, to cleaning up flour from my little helpers! And there are always sticky dots to be found each day that I’m convinced are drips from their sippy cups of juice, etc. This would be a great help at trying to keep up with my little buddies!
A big mess….well, I have a 2 year old running around so I’m sure you can imagine. :) The mess that drives me the most crazy is the constant food on the floor. We found a great vacuum for the big pieces, but now I need an easier way to actually clean the floor!
Sounds like it would’ve been handy when I was canning applesauce and dropped flaming hot applesauce on my foot and it went in between my toes. Yes, it did hurt, bad, but then, it adhered to the floor because I was so busy hopping around breathing like Bill Cosby immitating a woman in labor.

With 3 kids and two large dogs I never have just one large mess…it’s a daily thing I try to ignore. I realized it’s as bad as I feared it was when my mom took care of the kids and dogs and the house for a week while I was helping my father-in-law and after a few days she called and said, “I will never complain about your floors…I don’t know how you keep up with them as well as you do!”. She got a small taste of my continual battle and respected me for it.
my trash was accidentally dumped all over the kitchen floor…..I have tried to block the image from my mind. Would have loved a mop like this to help me out. Looks fabulous!
What mess have I NOT cleaned up. Let me just say that between 2 little boys, 1 husband, 2 dogs (who have yet to be trained after 7 years) and one cat, there is ALWAYS some mess on the floor! I NEED one of these!

The biggest mess we’ve had (lately) is when my daughter was getting something out of the fridge and she accidentally pulled out a huge pitcher of Crystal light as well…the pitcher (without a lid) landed right-side up, but when it did, there was a geyser of Raspberry Ice Crystal light! It went the full height of the fridge–there was red EVERYWHERE.
You would think that the biggest mess that immediately comes to my mind would involve my four-year old but it was actually caused by the hubs. He managed to knock a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper off the kitchen counter which spewed all over the walls and cabinets before hitting the floor and soaking everything. A Black and Decker steam mop would have been very handy in that situation and would have saved a roll of paper towels!
I recently squirted a liquid flavor enhancer for water into my water bottle filled with ice. The flavor enhancer was a deep red, mind you. As I was squirting it into the water it hit an ice cube on top and it all came back at me in all it’s deep red, blood looking glory! All over my face, hands, counters, cabinets and floor!!! A new Black and Decker Steam Mop would have been a life saver to help me clean up that scary looking mess!!
biggest mess was when i opened the fridge and a bottle of dijon mustard fell down, got all over the cabinets, wood floors and dining table….this was just 3 weeks ago. i was not a happy camper. but everyday is messy. i have a husband a 5 year old son and 1 year old daughter. the bathrooms are the worst….let me just say, 5 year olds don’t have the best aim ;)

My 2-year-old recently took the hose into the house when we weren’t looking and completely soaked our laminate floors! What a load of towels that took to “mop” up.
Every day with 2 kiddos and hardwood floors is a big mess! Only to get bigger with babe #3 on it’s way! I would LOVE this new mop, it might even become my new best friend :)
This would be amazing!! Because really, my whole *life* is one big mess that I’m constantly cleaning up! With two boys ages 4 and 7, our kitchen floor desperately needs help. And it would be even better if they could clean it themselves ;-) Thanks for the chance to win.
Oh which spill to tell about, we had a few today. Let’s tell the one where my 3 year old decided to pour her strawberry lemonade ALL BY HERSELF. Yep, we all know how those usually turn out! So on the floor is a lot of lemonade and her cup has but a small portion. All would be well if I owned a Black and Decker Steam Mop! Hope to win this one.
Thanks!
I would LOVE one of these to clean up the constant messes that happen every single day on my wood floors thanks to three small children!!
I have a 14 month old, messes are a 3 times a day plus snacks kind of thing around here.
I have 3 kids and 2 dogs so my floors really get abused but the worst was spilling turkey drippings on the floor! It was so greasy and hard to wipe up. I could really use this mop!
Thanks so much for the giveaway. Every day there’s a big mess to clean up. My son is two and likes to make artwork on the kitchen floor with whatever he is done eating. We have old vinyl flooring which NEVER seems to come clean. I scrubbed it once for 1/2 an hour and then used clorox on it and after several rinses still had dirt coming up. Would love to try one of these on it. Thanks again :)
When my husband was deployed I installed laminate floor in the dining area all by myself. Trying to be thrifty. It looks great and is much easier to clean up than the carpet after my three active children. Now I wish I would have a Black and Decker steam mop :)

I love to bake and decorate cupcakes. But I hate the mess I always make while doing so. It seems like I leave a mess from one end of the kitchen to the other. Not 1 stich of carpet in my home all my floors are the biggest mess Ive ever had to clean because its a royal PAIN to pull out the mop and bucket to clean all the floors in the house. I work so much taking care of others (Im a Hospice worker) This would be perfect because it would cut down on my cleaning time and give me a little more me time which these days are far and few between…
My very favorite Black and decker item I own is my storm station.. Living in Fl its a must have!!!
I like the black and decker steam mop the best.
While stirring a big bowl of puppy chow, full of chocolate and peanut buttered chez mix, the bowl slipped right out of my arms onto the floor. It was a terrible, sticky, gross mess! I had to mop 3 times before it was totally clean! Would love a steam mop! Thanks for the fun giveaways!
The biggest cleaning challenge I ever faced was when my 2 year old spilled an entire gallon of Crisco cooking oil on the kitchen floor. You talk about a challenge? Whew! The worst mess I’ve ever had to clean was quite a doozy… I had put my twins to bed and could hear them jabbering and squealing, so I went in to let them know it was time to settle down. When I walked in I felt like I had been smacked in the face with the worst smell ever. After flipping on the light I found that they had both smeared poop EVERYWHERE! They were covered, their cribs were covered, it was on the walls, the bedding, the floor, the curtains…. :( WORST MESS EVER!!!!

Wow .. which mess to choose. I could really use this w / 2 boys (4 yo & 10 months) — I have the messes down to 2. The first one happened this past weekend when my 4 yo son wanted a fruit smoothie for dessert. While he was drinking the sticky purple/pink drink he spilled it all over him, the kitchen table, his chair and floor. He then took off all of his clothes down to his underwear and left it on the kitchen floor creating a separate sticky mess in another location. Then he wanted to help and spread the sticky purple / pink mess further under the table which then encouraged our dog to walk through the mess and spread it even further. Luckily I thought it was funny but the BD steam mop would have been handy. The 2nd mess — LY when I was round and pregnant during the summer … my husband was out of the country on business and at the time my son (who was 3 then)decided to have a food fight with himself and the dog. I then had to get on my hands and knees to clean the mess … it was not fun.
I could have really used this when I was making strawberry limeades for my in-laws. All was going well at first, limes had been squeezed, ice added, lemon-lime soda poured and strawberry sauce stirred in. Then, in what was a freak suspension of gravity, the entire gallon of limeade spilled all over the kitchen floor! Ack! Even wiping it up several times with wet rags did not get rid of the stick. I had to take an afternoon and scrub the floor on my hands and knees before it was completely up. Oh, for a steam mop then.
I have always and probably will always love the Dust Buster. It’s just so handy! Stairs, under chairs, in the back seat of the car. I can always think of a million places to use it.
There is always a mess to clean at my house! With three kids, homeschooling and a messy husband when do i not have a messnto clean up?? But the worst is always under the baby’s seat after breakfast lunch and dinner! Eekk!

I own a B&D Dustbuster vacuum. It definitely comes in handy to clean up crumbs from the highchair or out of the couch without dragging out the big vacuum. I’m pretty sure if I won the steam mop, that it would become my favorite product though. :)
My most recent mop-worthy-incident was a few days ago. I just finished canning spaghetti sauce and fed some to my one year old. She proceeded to throw noodles and sauce from her high chair all over the kitchen while my back was turned.

I was having a bad day this summer, and decided to make myself a frappucino-type drink at home. My blender blade broke about a year and a half ago, so I thought it would be ok to throw all of the ingredients in my food processor, whirl it around, and in a few seconds, I’d be on my way to a happy place. Apparently food processors were not made to substitute as blenders. I turned it on, and in about 3 seconds, my ENTIRE kitchen was COVERED in liquid coffee goo. I just had to smile and laugh about it…. trying to make something to cheer myself up and relax resulted in a giant mess(the likes of which impressed my 3 and 5 year old boys).
I follow you and would LOVE this! I have a 6 month old who is about to start crawling! Need clean floors!
Just the other day I dropped a can of soda as I was putting it in the fridge to chill. Not only did it explode all over my fridge but also all over my hardwood floor in my dining room. I bet that the Black and decker Steam Mop would have come in handy…instead, I was on my hands and knees! Hopefully I will win because there WILL be another mess to clean up, no doubt!
My children are well known for getting into the kitchen with very little encouragement from me. One Saturday my husband and I decided to sleep in. Well when we woke up there was milk on the floor, fridge was open, cereal on all the counters, In fact it was so bad I thought I was dreaming and this was some kind of movie. They had then taken all their food to the lounge where they then proceeded to mess all over the table there with sugar and milk. We spent an hour cleaning up all the mess. Needless to say we have a strict rule in the house and have had for a number of years, NO breakfast until Mom wakes up. If you’re hungry – have an apple!

Biggest mess? YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW! LOL. I’m a caregiver and a babysitter, from toddlers to teens to geriatric gentlemen. It’s just one poopie day after another. Trust me, I got messes galore! I still love and use my original Black and Decker Scum Buster.
I’d have to say when my toddler decided to throw eggs all over my kitchen was the biggest mess I’ve ever cleaned up! Have you ever cleaned up eggs? They just slide off whatever you are wiping them up with. Not fun. But, around here, everyday my floors are in need of a good mop. Winning this might make my life so much easier. *crossing fingers!*
I generally slide the lock over the top of my pantry door to keep the kids out, but one day I forgot to lock it and my little boy found the flour sack in there and I had a dusting of flour (reminded me of snow for some reason) all over my kitchen to clean up.

I had a mess to clean up one time when some pilsbury biscuits exploded all over the kitchen. I had no idea it could be such a mess thankfully no one was in the kitchen when it happened. Some how the fridge door was left open a little and the dough must of gotten hot. I heard something loud come from the kitchen like someone had been shot. When i got in there the dough was everywhere I could not figure out what had happened I just saw stuff everywhere. It had even hit the ceiling. Anyway got it cleaned up but thought after that wow those can be dangerous…That was my real mess.

The platter was made of plastic and didn’t agree with me preheating the oven. Melted plastic is one of the worst smells to try to get out – and cleaning it out of the oven was awful: when its most plyable its too hot to actually touch and when it starts to cool it would adhere to the grates for dear life.

Toughest clean-up job = dried on spaghetti sauce!
I love B&D’s cordless wet/dry vac
Well my everyday messes usually involve cat hairballs but the biggest, grossest mess ever was when one of my girls in youth group got sick. She had spaghetti for dinner :o\ I’m sure this steam mop could’ve helped to save my sanity in some of these situations. PICK ME PICK ME!!!
My first big mess after having a kid was baby sweet potatoes…all over the kitchen floor. My son reached from his high chair to the table (how in the world could he reach that far?) and knocked off the bowl containing his dinner. It was a small Pyrex bowl containing sweet potatoes, and the bowl shattered and sweet potatoes went everywhere. Multiple lessons were learned that day. One being that I should probably invest in a steam mop. Which I still haven’t done.

I am a little clumsy so I seem to always have big messes to clean up. I seem to drop things a lot, especially liquid things, LOL.
The biggest mess I have had to clean up was raw eggs on the floor.
I follow the idea room via GFC.
The worst mess I have ever had was when I was putting away groceries and broke open a jar of olive oil.
The last big mess I had (thankfully) was fairly easy to clean. My three year old got his cup stuck in the fridge water dispenser when no one was around and water got ALL over my kitchen. I haven’t had a big food mess in awhile.
My most recent big mess was caused when a carton of yogurt fell out of the fridge when I opened it – of course the plastic container cracked and yogurt went all over the floor – yuck!

We are renting right now until we move the beginning of next month. With 5 kids we make a lot of messes, but last night my 2 year old decided she wanted to play with the food coloring in the pantry. It was liquid food coloring and it was everywhere! Her arm is stained green, but luckily the floor is tile and it was easier to get off. There are a couple of places that you can still see green in the grout and I will have to work at those more. I would love a steam mop to help me!!

With 19 month old twins, big messes are the norm at our home. :-) I think my favorite one was when one of the twins was hungry, she got a box of cereal and dumped it all out on the floor. Her brother contributed by stomping in it! Our cereal now resides on the counter….
Once, a long long time ago when we only had 1 child he spilled a new pitcher of home squeezed lemonade all over the kitchen floor. He felt really bad. He would not play all day and it was really sad!

Oh, how I could have used this 2 weeks ago when the darling but too busy two year old living in my house decided it would be interesting to see what that wonderful chocolate (Hershey’s Syrup) looked like on the floor, the carpet, the rug, and didn’t it make neat footprints when he walked through it to visit the potty, over the den carpet and rug and bathroom rug…….

I have 2 dogs, a 3 1/2 yr old and a 9 month old. When we had all the rain over the summer, my kitchen floor looked like a war zone. My dogs love to romp in the mud and then track it in the house as well as my 3 1/2 yr old and when I wasn’t looking, my 9 month crawled in it and tracked it around the house. I would love to win this!!!
My life is one big mess. I have a one year old, a three year old, and a 5 year old who always seem like that time to make a mess is while eating. I have quite a mess on my hands when eating time is over!
My favorite black and decker product is my mouse sander. I have only used it a handful of time, but when i have used it, it is so handy. I LOVE it! I am hoping i can add the steam cleaner to my list of favorite B&D items!!

My entire 70 yr old house is hard wood floors and I have 3yr old twins . . . major messes are a daily thing around here! I would love to own a steam mom — it would help with clean-up so much!

The worst mess I had to clean up was when I risked taking a quick shower while my toddler was quietly playing. When I came out I found him “quietly” smearing black shoe polish into the new carpet of our rented apartment. Very little carpet in my house now. A steam mop would be wonderful!
My then 2 year old, dumped an entire 18 pkg of eggs on to my kitchen floor and then proceeded to smear them all over my kitchen floor before I found him!

Probably my biggest mess was cherry jello (still in liquid form) all over the floor!
I’d love it because I could get my kids to mop!
my daughter had a milk intolerance and threw up everything she ate (even if it wasn’t milk-related) and we couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but she threw up 3 times a day for 3 months. it was messy. i would love this mop!

I clean houses for some of my family and friends for additional income. I also help take care of my elderly grandmother. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the time my poor grandmother got sick and I had to clean up after her…. on my hands and knees scrubbing her bathroom floor. I could have really used a steam mop then!!
pickled beet juice….need i say more!

I frequently dogsit my neighbor’s beagle and in the past year he’s eaten junion mints, a 4-pack of cadbury eggs, two bags of mini-bagels just to name a few. Needless to say his digestive tract is a mess I have to clean up on a fairly frequent basis. This would be great!

LOL I’m still finding sticky parts to this day. I am just a jack of all trades & hate to pay for someone to do something I can do myself. So, I buy microwaveable wax for hair removal & do myself & many family members. My grand daughter came over to get waxed and she put the “pot” in for the usual 1 min, not thinking that I had just purchased a new container. Well apparently the company uses a different kind of plastic and I pulled it out after the 1 min and as I was carrying it across the kitchen on my 1 yr old hardwood floors, the container melted, and wax ended up all over the floor!! Needless to say I am the only one who nukes the wax now!
My husband and I were stripping wallpaper out of a small half bath. He got bored with the water wipeoff method. He was sure there was a better way. I disagreed…. He went and got sandpaper and attempted to sand the wallpaper glue off the walls. After about 30 minutes of effort, he left a tremendous cloud of sticky, gluey dust on everything. And we still had to wipe down the walls. It didn’t even get the wallpaper glue off the walls. It took FOREVER to clean up everything. The steam mop sure would have helped!!
Babysitter tried to be helpful after making cookies with my daughter and decided to run the dishwasher….with Dawn. Yep, a 20-something reluctantly listened to my 4 yo who insisted that we used Dawn in the dishwasher. It was straight out of a movie. Suds everywhere!

The biggest mess I ever cleaned up was when some of my canning jars burst while processing and then spilt all over the floor when I was trying to dump it in the garbage.

I want a steam mop SO BAD!
The biggest mess I had to clean up was when my son (4 years old at the time) trapped our cat in the bathroom and decided to wash him – he pumped half the bottle of soap onto the cat and then he realized that when soap gets on the floor it is really slippery and he “ice skated” all over the bathroom floor. You might not believe it, but that much soap is REALLY hard to clean up! It just kept getting more and more sudsy.
Just this past Saturday, at 5:30 am I was trying to quietly get out of the house without waking my family for a triathlon. i was getting my water bottle out of the fridge and hit a bottle of poppyseed dressing. It tumbled to the kitchen floor and the lid broke off. The dressing made a huge stickey mess that I am still trying to get un-stickified!

What a fabulous give away! I love Black & Decker products, but maybe I’m biased since my last name is Decker.
As for the big mess, I’m bad for not checking cups before I turn them over and put them in the dishwasher. One time there was about half a tumbler with the remains of a root beer float and I in a hurry and had it already turning over before I realized there was something in it. Root beer and melted ice cream splashed ALL over the floor. Not fun to clean that up.

I have a Black & Decker drill that I love!

My 6 month pregnant body needs this! Tired of wet mopping.
This past summer I have enjoyed having grandchilldren come over to swim. After the fun in the sun we usually eat lunch that I have prepared ahead of time. I provided cans of soda that my 4 kiddies could choose from. Kennedy my 7 yrs. old chose the ‘RED CREAM SODA’ but wanted to save it and take t home with her.
As they were packing up their belongings to go home Kennedy’s can of pop (still closed) fell onto the floor and popped opened.
Red soda went everywhere, places you could never have thought of, ceiling fridge stove .. it was even all over the wall and running down towards the floor. It hit the wall in the front room and the beige carpet was spotted with lots of color. My granddaughter started to cry and shake — it scared her and I am sure she wondered what grandma was going to say. My comment to her as I hugged her was ‘little girls are more important the RED CREAM SODA’.
A STEAM MOP WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE COME IN USEFUL TO MOP THE FLOORS…..HELP
My favorite mess is when my 18 month old son decided to pull out a box of cereal from the lower cupboard…knocking over a 10 lb bag of flour. Needless to say, the white cloud of flour that landing on everything, including him, made for some AWESOME photos to embarrass him with later. :)
With two busy boys I have lots of messes to clean up. The worst one though was definitely when I had to clean up red jello that hadn’t set yet from my natural stone tile. :(

One of the times I remember most is when I spilled paint on my floor and then my toddler played in it while I ran to get paper towels. I also put off cleaning everyday because it gets messy so fast. Winning one of these would be amazing!!! Pick me! :)
Mopping the floor is my very least favorite job and I am living in a house with hardwood floors everywhere, so this would be awesome!! I already follow your RSS feed.
The worst mess of all time that I had to clean up wasn’t actually on the floor. I had gone in the office to check my email and when I came out there was black permanent marker everywhere. My toddler had literally run down the hall and all along the house with the marker. There was a toddler high black mark across all my cupboards, appliances (fridge, washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove), down the hall on every door and wall and on the drapes. There were also several large black permanent marker murals. After spending hours cleaning my appliances and cupboards, we ended up having to paint almost the entire inside of the house because it wouldn’t come off the walls and I moved my computer into the living room.
I had to clean up from an ACCIDENT that one of my first graders had at school yesterday. Guess we need to practice how to ask to go the bathroom a whole lot more!

I think it was the year we left the Christmas tree up waaaaay too long, long enough for it to become a running joke among our friends. When we did finally decide to take it down, it became a little party…our friends came over and a few hot buttered rums later, the tree was on its way out the door, leaving a trail of brown needles everywhere! We were cleaning those up for days afterward. But it was a great Tree Heaving Party!
Just about a month ago, my son turned on my mixer. He turned it on too high to begin with and he and the kitchen were covered in flour! This would have been great to clean it up with!

I love the B&D Family-Size Electric Griddle…pancake heaven!
5 kids = so many messes I couldn’t begin to pick the worst ever. One of the most annoying is when (and yes, this has happened more than once), someone places Daddy’s pitcher of sweet tea at just the right location on the top shelf of the fridge so that the next time the door opens, the pitcher falls out and sweet tea gets all over the floor and just about everything in the fridge. You get to mop the floor and wipe out the entire fridge and sometimes even wipe down a cabinet and a wall or two. I could really use a steam mop. Today, even.
My daughter dropped egg on the floor. I had to clean up what a stinky mess. I would love to win this to help clean up the messes
My neighbor stopped for coffee one day with her son. The kids were playing upstairs while we were catching up and after a little while we realized that they were being too quiet… you know that can’t be good! When we went upstairs we caught them red-handed, literally!! They had squeezed 24 tubes of paint on the floor and were going at it like it was finger paint!!! A big, quiet mess!
oh! we have a toddler and a small hairy dog
no wonder that mess and clutter is our middle name.
cross our fingers :)
I have 2 children 2years old and 11 months. They are constantly making messes!! I would love to try one of the stem cleaners on their messes. My mother in law has a different brand, but it doesn’t work very well.

1st LOVE your site, 2nd biggest mess little girl snuck jar of peanut butter, you can just imagine head to toe kid covered along with floor where she was sitting and cabinets where here hand prints were. All while I was only a few minutes in the laundry room.
Just last week, my husband opened the refrigerator door and out flew an almost full jar of salsa onto the floor. The lid popped off, and we had salsa on the floor, in the fridge, up the walls and cabinets, into the hall and even splashed onto the basement stairs. What a mess!!

My daughter poured out a whole bottle of baby shampoo on the carpet. I spent forever with a carpet cleaner getting it out! It just foamed up and got worse as I cleaned. The up side is that my carpet smelled lovely for a few weeks!
While I would love to have this to use in my house, I also think of all the times it would have come in handy to use in the car after one of my kids got “sick” and made a mess in the car that was then hard to get rid of the smell. Empty nester now but still have messes that I would love to use this for!

When I was eight months pregnant I tried to get a 64 oz bottle of juice out of the fridge. Know how the ligaments in your hands loosen while pregnant? Half of it went all over the kitchen.
Oh my gosh….so many messes. The worst ones are not from my kids but my husband who tracks grease into the house after working on our cars. I could use this just for him!….or the kids…..or the not yet housebroken puppy!
What an awesome giveaway! On more than one occasion I have purchased a jar of pickles from the grocery store, only to get it home and drop it on the kitchen floor. Broken glass, pickles, and pickle juice. Ugh!!!!

I have a 1 &2 year old. Cleaning up messes is what i DO; strawberries, blueberries, but how about avocado and blueberries ground in with a bagel. Think the dteam mop could handle it?
I was doing laundry one day in the basement and I was tired of going up and down the stairs. I heard the spin cycle go on and thought to myself I should move my detergent off the washer. But like I said I was tired of going up and down the stairs so it was easy to ignore the thought until I heard the crash and found the liquid detergent pouring out every where. It was an annoying mess to clean.
Just yesterday I canned peaches for a good part of the day, and oh what a sticky mess it created ALL over my kitchen floor! I was down on my hands and knees mopping it, and wishing that I had a good mop to use. I have been in the market for one and just haven’t gotten around to purchasing one, but just heard about these mops from a friend! Would love one of my own!

Thanks!
I have three kids who all help me in the kitchen. One of the more constant problems is drink dribbled on the floor. They don’t seem to notice, and soon we have little sticky spots all over the floor. I’ve not had a good solution for easily cleaning the floor, but I really like the look of this steam mop!
I don’t think ANYONE wants to hear about my biggest mess… but here’s the SHORT version. During nap time my (3rd or 4th- take your pick they both did this) played with their poop like it was playdough, it was pressed into toy pots and pans, all over the play kitchen, the bunk beds, sheets, carpet, door, trim, dresser… (number 3 did it the worst, but only a few times, while number 4 didn’t do it as bad, but did it many many MANY more times…).
Talk about GAG… For the worst ones I put the kids in the bath, closed the door and made my husband take care of it (luckily it wasn’t too long until he was arriving home).
other high ranking messes- a BRAND new jar of Nutella all over the couch, floor, tv, wii, etc…, oh another nap time mess- a sharpie, just a sharpie. But my artist son (#2) managed in one nap to cover the dresser, EVERY wall, the bunk beds, the sheets, the closet, the door, the carpet, EVERYWHERE. And even a magic eraser can’t get that off.
Oh I have many many MANY more, but we’ll leave it at that.
We’ve remodeled and turned our house into an easy to clean utopia… High gloss board and batten, super high, easy to wipe clean, and we got rid of carpet in almost all of the house now and have wood vinyl floor. And this mop would be perfect for me!!! I can teach the kids to use it and have one more chore off my hands!!
I LOVE black and Decker, my favorite product? Probably my hand held rotary tool, it’s good for everything! I use it all the time, serious love!
With 3 boys I always have a big mess to clean up!
I haven’t had a big mess (yet) to deal with, but with two boys (an almost 2 year old and a 2 month old) I see a lot of messes in my future! I have a swiffer wet jet now and I don’t feel like the floor is really getting CLEAN.

So I only get to tell you about 1 big mess? LOL…. there have been several big messes but I will spare you the details. The biggest mess I had to clean up, had to be when I spilled a whole 5 lb bag of sugar all over the floor. I didn’t think I would ever get that gritty stuff cleaned up.
I would love, love, love this new mop. It would make this full time working momma’s life just a little easier.

I was just telling my husband that I wanted a steam mop for Christmas. I would love to win one now and not have to wait for Christmas. Plus it would be fun to get something other than a steam mop for Christmas. Anyway, the biggest mess I think I have had was oh lets think….either the powder sugar that my 7 year old thought he could open the container all by himself to get out (he couldn’t), or the milk that went all over the floor from the same child. The dogs muddy footprints are pretty frustrating also!
The biggest mess I’ve ever had to clean up was….I made chili and was putting in the refrigerator when the bowl slipped out of my hands and all over the kitchen floor, cabinets, inside and outside of the fridge…what a M.E.S.S!!
I have a friend that has this particular steam mop and she LOVES it!! Plus, I’m a new Gammy for the first time so I’m sure I have some messes to clean up in the near future.
Blessings,
