My son is a bit of a science geek AND an athlete (which is a pretty good combination in my mind). I thought it would be fun to make a shirt that would be a fun little play on words and involved some science humor. This would also make a fun Father’s Day gift idea that is unique and different. And, with the popularity of the movie Iron Man right now, this shirt iron on decal could be used for several different things.
For those of you who may not be familiar with the Periodic Table, the Fe in the square box is the Symbol for the element Iron. Then we added a symbol to represent a man. So you have “Iron Man”. Although my daughter was quick to point out that it could also represent “Fe–Male” which my son was not amused to hear. Haha!!
I have partnered with Cricut to make this shirt and so it is available as a “Make It Now” project on their site. All you have to do is click a button and you can cut it out on your Cricut Machine on your favorite Iron On Transfer Material and then iron it on to your shirt. Don’t forget to cut it in a mirror image if you are going to be cutting it our to iron on an article of clothing. There are more detailed instructions on the “Make It Now” Project at Cricut.com. The pattern is available for purchase for .99 cents.
If you would like to make you simply click on the button below.
You could also cut it out in a vinyl and use it on a display plaque if you want to use it in a decor type of situation. Maybe for someone who has completed an Iron Man race or competition, or for your nerdy friend to go in a dorm room.

So many different ways to use this! How would you use it?

Absolutely love this shirt! My husband has done several Ironman distance triathlons and this is perfect for him!
I like this shirt. But it is quite confusing if you don’t know that “Fe” means Iron. Reading for the first time, I thought it said “Fe”-Male. But it is really quite clever once you know.
Haha! I know Conny! My daughter pointed that out. I must be nerdy enough (my science teacher background) to not have noticed that at first ;)
My 15 yr. old is a huge Avengers fan. He is going to love this!
