m&m printable gift tag

For my younger kids teacher gifts this year we made up some printable m&m gift tags to attach to a package of m&m candies.  We also attached with the tags some coupons for a Free Meal to one of our favorite food places…Cafe Rio.  We wanted to give each teacher something simple but useful that would let them know how much we appreciated them this year.

fathers-day-gift

We also wanted it to be something that they might enjoy receiving and practically everyone we know around here loves Cafe Rio.  These printable gift tags are great because they can work for almost ANY occasion.  Use them for a simple Father’s Day Gift, Mother’s Day Gift or Birthday Gift.  You could also use them if someone around you needs a little cheering up or a little note so they know someone is thinking about them.

m&m-gift

You don’t even have to attach a gift card to them if you don’t want to.  If someone showed up at my front door or dropped a fun little surprise in my mailbox (like chocolate), I know that it would really brighten up my day.  The kids and I want to do some fun little surprise drop offs of these to their friends this summer and we are looking forward to our secret little surprises!  It is such a simple way to spread sunshine to those around you.

But the more important matter of the day is…peanut or plain m&m’s?  Which one do you prefer?

Free Spice Labels Printables

If you are following along with me on Instagram, you got to see a sneak peek of this project I was working on while watching me some Olympics.  This is one project that I have been super excited to get completed.  I LOVE anything that involves organization, labels and jars.  Don’t you? It makes my heart feel happy!

printable-spice-labels

I had an antique Dr. Pepper crate that I had been using in my office to organize some of my craft supplies, but it was hidden away behind a cupboard door.  It is too fun to be hidden away.

printable-labels

Then one day I realized that it would make a perfect spice rack.  I had been slowly buying my new spices in these cute spice jars from Target.  They are in the spice aisle and the Archer Farms brand.  The jars fit perfectly.

spice-organization

Now, of course, I HAD to make some labels for the lids so that I could see what the spices were and to give them some extra oomph!

Don’t you think they look so pretty?  Almost too pretty to use…

Ha! With a big family, we do tend to go through some of these spices rather quickly.  So we do buy a lot of them in bulk from Costco and then I just store the bigger bottles in the cupboard directly above these spices, but the big bottles get hidden away.  I just refill the smaller ones when they get low.

spice-organization

So far it has been a great system.  It is also much easier to find the spices we need rather than trying to dig through each one in a crowded cupboard.  Well, I want to share these labels with you.  Even if you don’t have a vintage soda crate to store them in, there are several different options and spice racks you can use.  Or just put the round labels on your current spice jars to fancy them up a bit.

kitchen-organization-tips

Let me just talk candidly with you all for a moment though.  I have been disheartened for several months lately with people who have been taking my photos, and free downloads and SELLING them.  It is really very frustrating and I have gone back and forth about how to combat it.

This is why I run my printables through my FB page.  It has made a difference in the amount that I have seen, but it is still happening.  This is illegal and is a violation of copyright and has made me wonder if I should quit sharing with all of you here.  BUT…I really don’t want to punish ALL of us due to a few dishonest people.  I feel like the people who are involved in this dishonesty are people who are finding it through Pinterest and don’t realize just how small the internet can be in the DIY/Craft world.

When you visit my site and share my site with others, your traffic earns me some income. I really appreciate all of you who are here and have been loyal followers.  I would not be able to continue to do this without you!!  I want to be able to continue creating and sharing with you, because I absolutely LOVE it!  It is my dream job!

So, on some of my bigger projects, I will be offering the printables FREE for a limited time, and then will move them into my shop.  This is a lot of extra work for me, but I am hoping it will help eliminate some of the problem.  So, this really shouldn’t effect the rest of you who are following along. Just make sure if you see something you want, grab it before it goes in the shop.  Also…please always send your friends and family to my site to grab something for themselves rather than sharing it with them.  I feel like that is a fair trade to make for you to continue getting freebies…right?! We will see how well this solves the problem and go from there!  THANK YOU ALL for your patience with this!

So, with all of that said…if you would like to download these Printable Spice Labels, click on the link below and follow the directions carefully.

Movie Night Printables

Valentine’s Day is coming.  What are you doing to celebrate?  Since we have 5 children and don’t always feel like sharing our night with several strangers cramming into the same restaurants, we usually have a nice low key night at home…with the kids!

movie-night-printables

We have, in the past, done a nice candle-light meal and some chocolate fondue with the kids.  They love being involved and really…they are the most important people in my life so it makes sense to include them.  Then, because it is important for my husband and I have to our own relationship, we will plan a date for just the two of us at a different time.

family-activity

This year I thought it would be fun to plan a family movie night and make it a little extra special.  I shared this with you earlier as part of a Group Valentine’s Day Gift Basket Giveaway.  The lucky winner has received her fun Movie Night Gift Basket, but I thought it would be fun to share these fun printables with you too in case you might want to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your own movie night!

date-ideas

Print out these fun tickets and give them to those you would like to invite so they can anticipate a fun evening at home with their favorite people.  Pop up some popcorn and chill some of your favorite drinks in an ice bucket.

Hang up a painter’s drop cloth (which I cut down to hang nicely in front of the fireplace in our living room.  This can be used as a decoration with some fun bulb lights or you can actually project your movie on it for a real movie theater or drive in movie feel.

Gather up your blankets and pillows and make sure you have plenty to get cozied up and comfortable for the main feature…or two.

Christmas-gifts

This month I thought it would be fun to share a simple neighbor gift idea.  I don’t know about you, but I am always trying to come up with a new twist on a well loved idea.  Giving a jar or a bag of homemade cookie mix is not a new concept.  I love the idea of sprucing it up a bit and putting it in a pretty package.

neighbor-gift

I love having the ingredients to make cookies during the holiday season right on hand.  You never know when you will need to whip up some homemade goodies at the last minute with all of the parties and events…so these make for a practical gift too.

neighbor-gift

I quickly sewed together some homemade cookie mix bags out of a canvas paint drop cloth.  I will share that tutorial here soon.  To see some other projects I have used a drop cloth for check these out!
