EASTER DECOR
I don’t really do any decorating for St. Patrick’s Day. It is not a holiday we really celebrate other than a small visit from the Leprechaun, turning a few items green and wearing green so we don’t get pinched. So I have already started pulling out my Easter décor.
I have been updating my Easter décor this year and getting rid of a few really old items that I just wasn’t in love with any more. Here is my first Easter décor item I want to share with you today. You can make one too!
BURLAP BUNNY
This framed Burlap Easter Bunny is not a new idea and I have seen several versions floating around the internet…here is my version.
- I started with an old 12 x 12 picture frame that I had laying around and I spray painted it white. I can’t remember the last time we had nice enough weather in a February in Utah to be spray painting outside! But I am not complaining!
2. Then I took some burlap (which can be purchased at most craft or fabric stores) and cut it to fit into the frame. I attached the burlap to the cardboard that came with the frame with a glue stick. This makes it lay down nicely and then just let it dry.
3. Then I cut this bunny silhouette out on my Cricut Explore and used the vinyl as a stencil. If you don’t have a cutting machine, I have made it so that you can download the bunny as a pdf. You can make your own stencil the old fashioned way with a pair of scissors and some cardstock.
4. Stencil the bunny onto the burlap with white craft paint and let it dry completely. Then simply glue a regular cotton ball or a white pom-pom onto the bunny’s tail with the hot glue gun.

Love your DIY! Thank you! Also, I’m wondering what craft store you got your burlap from. My burlap is a much looser weave and looks funny…
