DIY Pencil Vase

Learn how to make a DIY pencil vase for back to school with this fun and easy craft idea! This adorable pencil-themed vase makes a creative teacher gift, classroom decoration, or back-to-school centerpiece. Customize it with fresh flowers, pencils, and your favorite school colors for a simple DIY project that celebrates the start of a new school year!

Supplies You’ll Need

• Glass vase, jar, or empty can
• Chalk Paint
• Paint Brush
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks
• Ribbon, twine, or decorative string
• Fresh or artificial flowers
• Scissors
• Vinyl (optional)

The No. 2 Pencil Vase started with a clean, gallon-sized tin can. 
Be sure to remove any paper or residue from the outside.

You can use your favorite chalk-style paint for this (this chalk paint will readily adhere to most surfaces…including aluminum cans). I didn’t have the perfect eraser color, so I mixed some of the Ballet Slipper Pink with the Crimson Red.

Then I just brushed on my two colors of paint for the pencil.
