HOW TO FRAME VINTAGE LACE DOILIES?
Tips for Framing an Antique Doily
- You will want to make sure to use acid-free backing and materials when you frame your vintage doilies. The acid can weaken and cause the lace doilies to yellow over time.
- Hand sewing the doily to the back of the frame display board will allow you to be able to attach it safely. Most adhesives can cause discoloration.
- Leave some space in front of the doilies so that the glass is not laying against or touching the material.
- If you can try to find a UV filtering glass in your frame so you can protect your doily from fading from exposure to sunlight.

Thank you SO very much for including my table runner! The link you’ve included takes people to the comments instead of the top of the post- but I’m tickled and honored to be in the mix!!
Sadie, I just fixed the link. Thanks for making me aware of this! I absolutely love this table runner and apparently so does everyone else!
Just beautiful. Pinned a couple of them for future projects.
Glad you enjoyed the post!
I am not crafty but love the doily on the wood over the bed. Did you spray the adhesive under the doily or over it?
Della- I love that one too. This is just a round up of ideas that I found on Pinterest. You may need to click on the link under the picture to be directed to the person that created that idea and ask them how they made it. Hope this helps. Thanks for following along!
Thank you so much for your ideas. My mom who left is 2010, use to do doily’s on her spare time. Now that she has left them behind, I can’t bear to let them go. Want to make use of them in an artistic way. She would like that. So thank you so much.
Ed- I am so happy that you have held onto them. What a precious gift!
