I love love LOVE this idea !!! A definate must around here. My daughter loves hopscotch and hates rainy days when I can’t draw one outside. This is definately going on my to do list. And I love the fact you made other games on the back side too. Awesome Job !!!!!

I had to laugh when I saw this blog as I am NOT a sewer :( but instead call myself a “hot gluer”. I had seen an indoor hop-scotch a few years ago and never made it for my kids as it required sewing. I kept thinking about it though and knowing that the girls would enjoy it in our hallway. After seeing your blog today we WILL finalllllllly be making one! It’s so colorful and fun looking. love this idea!!! So cute! I spent HOURS each day outside as a child playing hopscotch…and when I didn’t have chalk, I would use a rock to scratch out the hopscotch boxes. This is AWESOME!!!

This is great! Did you notice it sliding at all on the wood floor? I wonder if you could put little strips of some cabinet liner stuff to make it non-stick. Carpet wouldn’t be a big deal, but I could imagine it being pretty slippy on a smooth floor. I love the colors and creativity!!

yes…if you only buy one yard you will have to cut it in half to make it long…it’s about 60 inches wide and two yards long

I LOVE this! … I am just beginning into the crafty world… seriously, this is going to sound LAME – but what exactly is canvas fabric?
I love, love, love this idea…front side and back. I have been wanting to paint 2 hopscotch games on a concrete area on our preschool playground. They bought aN indoor/outdoor carpet/rug hopscotch instead. I am thinking about grabbing some canvas and paint an indoor mat with some other games on the reverse side. I am worried the felt might get well worn in my classroom too quickly. Paint and seal it with polyurethane. THANKS FOR SUCH A FABULOUS IDEA! I know my class will love to play the game inside on our carpet area!

An alternative to a hot glue gun, that may seal edges even better, is heat and bond, or stitch witchery. I once made an entire soccer banner, with NO sewing!

Great idea! I’m just wondering if it’s not moving too much while they jump on it on hardwood floor or laminate? Obviously a carpet would hold it better. Any ideas to prevent from slipping on the floor?
Maya, playing with it on the carpet may work better. You could also use a non slip rug pad. Hope this helps!
