Hey all! This has been one cRaZY! summer! I have gone on 7 different trips! Some just over the weekend and three separate, week-long trips! This is highly unusual for us! For some reason this summer it just worked out that way! We have also had company spend some time with us in our home.
Not that we didn’t have a great time seeing friends and family. Let’s just say that I am ready to stay home, get my house in order and sleep in my own bed!
This past Thursday we drove to Colorado and spent some time with family. We had a great time and hiked up to a beautiful lake and glacier. Then the next day we played at the lake…all.day.long!
My kids LOVE these cousins! Every one pretty much has a cousin close in age and they all have a blast just being together! Their parents are pretty cool too! We wish they could live closer!
Anyways…my point is…I AM WORN OUT! I plan to spend the next couple of days doing absolutely nothing…that is after I clean up the “after vacation disaster” of laundry, cleaning out the car and unpacking. Then I need to get the kids ready for Back-to-School which is right around the corner! AHHHHHH! Were does the time go?
My life feels somewhat like my daughter looks after spending all day playing at the lake :). So I may be scarce around here for the next couple of days while I get my life and my house back in order! But don’t worry…I will be back shortly!!
Can anyone else relate???

That's how I feel after Girls' Camp:) Great experience, but great to be home. My kids are too small for school yet, but I do have to get my husband ready for another grueling 18 credit hour semester. Maybe that WILL be like getting five kids ready:) Good Luck!
oh yes.. enjoy restoring order :) gorgeous photos. love the expression on your daughter's face…

Beautiful photos! I love the one of the chipmunk and of your daughter.
At lest you have a good excuse, I feel that way all the time for no reason! :) Good luck getting things back in order!
YES! I empathize. We've been all over this spring & summer, too.. weekend trips and longer trips. In the past few months, all or some of our family (also a family of seven like you) visited Utah/Nevada/Arizona, then Oregon, then California, and now finally we just got home from a family trip to our cabin 500 miles from our northern MN home in remote Ontario, CA. Nine days away fishing & getting good & dirty left a LOT to be unpacked & has me still catching up on laundry now that we're home! Then there are the overgrown yard & garden to tend to, messages & mail waiting… and for me, always the many many many photos to load, edit, (and hopefully at some point blog) from all of our adventures.
Nothing better than restoring order and having a few days of recovery! A mom's work is never done, even (especially?) on vacation & "days off."
Looks like Colorado was beautiful.
And yikes, you mentioned the words Back-to-Schoo… yes, that too!
Time flies when you're having fun.
I am SO jealous of your summer! I love trips, and we usually have 2 per summer, but this summer has been home. It's been ok though because we have had fun in our new home with our new neighbors and I'm leaving tomorrow on a trip (but I've got thursday in the que). We love Colorado, too!
I am a first time commenter. I shouldn't be so invisible. I love your blog – it's on my sides.
You could be my daughter, We have similar interests and I am a wedding photographer – although my photos don't reflect that on my blog. I have a full time job as a rep for several kids clothing lines and I'm always at trade shows and marts so I LOVE coming home and restoring order. For my blog, I just grab photos that match usually. If I had more time I would make my blog prettier. You may like my ideas though. They come from YEARS of raising 6 kids and trying to keep order while juggling everything else. Having fun sure is a lot of work isn't it? Looks like you all had a great time though.
I tried to email you and your link just took me to a photobucket page, and your about me link goes to a non-working blogspot page. Could you email me please?
I can so relate. Kick your feet up and relax in your own bed. Looks like you had a great trip!
I can relate. The traveling is worth all the memories, but the laundry still haunts me… Glad you had such fun times this summer. School starts today for us. I'm kinda sad, but happy to be getting back into a routine.
I love those photos! The chipmunk photo is adorable! Well, I have to say that I am very jealous of your many trips this summer as I have not been on any! No camping, no zoo, no downtown Pittsburgh day…somehow it just happened to turn out this way…for various reasons…but that's ok…summer's not over yet!
