This looks great but so did the regular Silhouette and honestly, all I have ever had is problems with it :/ I did just contact Customer Support about the blade not cutting and was sent one of the nifty new blades (they are cross-platform I guess) and must say that it seems a lot easier than the 3 that came with the regular machine.

Do you have any idea how thick the medium can be? For example, I would love to be able to cut self adhesive craft foam. Do you know what I’m talking about?

I live in Cape Town (South Africa) and received mine about 10 days ago. We returned from holiday yesterday and I am playing around with it non-stop. Still got a lot to learn as I did not have any other cutting machine in the past, therefore all is very new.
If you want to wait for suppliers is SA you are going to wait a long time, around here all stores just believe in the cricut and that were not enough for me, I ordered it online from USA, paid just below R300 ($37) import duties that is very reasonable to me, shipping were a lot buy worth it.

I have been looking at this machine (I own 4 cricuts!) And I am very intrigued! I would like to know where the online store is for Silhouette to buy files. I have been searching for about half an hour for this and haven’t found it yet. I was surprised that this is not even listed on Silhouettes site! do you know anything about using the Cameo and the blade depth when using sticky flock template material. Do you know if there is a wrong way to place the blade in the holder. does the larger black wing on the holder need to be in a certain position. I am having difficulty with it cutting the holes. I have had some luck setting the blade at twice the depth for regular template material and I hope this is not causing a problem with my machine.
I am interested, does the machine take 240V. I know that the american wiring is diffirent. I live on the island of Bali,Indonesia and we have the same electricity as in the Netherlands.

I’m getting a little confused with trying to figure Cricut vs. Silhouette and what they do. My big question is are you restriced with the Cameo to only the images you buy online or the ones that come with it? I would love to be able to scan a picture in that an artist friend of mine did and be able to cut it out.
Silhouette has a designer package that you can buy to upgrade that will allow you to use and make your own designs and download compatible files to use with their cameo.
Can you use the SCAL software with the Cameo?
I also need some one to do a demonstration on the Silhouette Cameo. Bought me one but not sure of everything.

I jut received my cameo and was happily playing around, when suddenly I cannot seem to load the cutting mat, I load it and then it says “E UNLOAD”
What does this mean, and what am I doing wrong

Ok, so I have owned the Silhouette for about two weeks now. It seems like a piece of crap! I have wasted almost a whole roll of vinyl and have yet to successfully cut anything. Customer Service has been of no help to me! Any suggestions?
Can you design an image in Adoble Illustrator and then either export it to the Cameo program or cut straight from illustrator with the cameo?
I really want this machine, but after watching some of the videos, I am worried I won’t figure out how to use it.
How did you ladies learn all of the functions?

I have had a Silhouette Cameo three weeks now. I absolutely HATE it. I have not been able to figure it out at all. I keep hearing how easy it is. I’ve conquered many things so I don’t understand why but I’m wishing I’d bought the Cricut and never heard of this thing. Right now it’s giving me the error message : E Unload. I’ve spent an hour trying to find what that means and what I’m suppose to do.
And I do have Photoshop 5 and use it all the time, by the way.
The unload E is what the screen displays once the paper is loaded. It then switches to E unload so if that’s what you want to do, just press the center button and it unloads. In other words, it is ready to cut now.
There are numerous YouTube videos that explain most everything you can do. Start by searching for how to load the machine, then how to cut a shape. I learned in less than a few hours and can do pretty much everything.
Or you can google how do I (insert whatever you want to do) on my cameo. Los of blogs out there with the answers.
In the identical sense, businesses would be wise to offer their workers something to unite under.
You can run your home business perfectly in case you become cordial towards the customers.

Just got it and I have been working days trying to get it to work right. After being on the phone for 1/2 hr. Their was a bug and had to down load another operating program and up date….. It still doesn’t let me type text or draw a all. I’m about ready to send it back
