Frozen treats are the way to the summers heart, and I’m continuing with my protein bites recipes, in sharing these Almond Butter Protein Bites with you today. I’ve had so much love for the blueberry protein bites I’ve shared, along with the apple cinnamon protein bites, this was a delicious twist on that concept with other ingredients.
My name is Kristen Duke, and I’m delighted to be back sharing ideas on The Idea Room, it’s how I got started in blogging! Here is a little blurb about me and my site:
Back to the recipe! My kids love to help assemble these, AND eat them, so it’s a great summer activity on those long days. You can use ice cube trays or candy molds or mini muffin tins to make them bite sized. They are a great pack of protein, and healthy, too, so anyone can enjoy them. If you are like me, you’re always looking for protein, and with almond butter being my fave these days, with greek yogurt, the combo make it extra protein good. A few mini chocolate chips sprinkled on top doesn’t hurt anybody, either.
2 frozen bananas
1/2 cup chocolate almond milk (or vanilla almond milk with 1 tsp. cocoa powder)
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons almond butter 1
teaspoon honey
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Blend everything except chocolate chips. Spoon into cube tray or mini muffin tin. Sprinkle top with chocolate chips. Freeze 4 hours or overnight. Pop out into a bowl, and enjoy!
