SPRING DOOR HANGERS
The weather here this time of year is a roller coaster ride. Last weekend it was almost 65 degrees and sunny and this week we are getting lots of snow! So you can bet I am getting super excited for the warmer, sunny days that usually come when spring finally arrives. Winters can be long and cold and its fun to put out some beautiful spring decor to get us through.
I love how bright and fresh these spring door hangers feel! I’m going to share with you how to make this spring door hanging basket to hang on your front door for a little mood lift…and to welcome Spring!
MATERIALS NEEDED FOR SPRING DOOR HANGERS
If you want to recreate the spring door hanging basket that I have shared here you will need the following materials and supplies. Most of the flower and plant stems I used are on sale right now too, so hurry up and grab them while you can!
- hanging basket
- eucalyptus spray
- dusty miller stems
- white tulips
- Boston fern stems
- dark pink peony stems
- large command hook
Of course, you don’t have to use the same flowers and fillers that I used, feel free to use the ones that fit your tastes and style preferences for your own home!
HOW TO MAKE SPRING DOOR BASKET
There really isn’t a lot you need to know about filling this basket with a beautiful spring floral arrangement but I will give you a general breakdown of how I filled my spring door hangers.
- Grab a hanging door basket. I have linked the exact one I used above.
- Fill it with a greenery base. I used the Boston fern stems as my base layer. Be sure to arrange it so that it fills the full area.
- Then I took the stems of dusty miller and placed them in the center and on both sides of the basket.
- Take the eucalyptus spray and place on on both ends of the basket so they hang out the bottom of the sides for a base.
- Take your stems of the peonies and place them in the center and offset from one another so they are one of the main focal points.
- Now take your white tulips and place them around the greenery so that they are different heights and in areas that need a pop of color.
- Check to make sure it feels balanced.
HANGING THE FLOWER BASKET
- Hang and command hook or wreath door hanger on the front door. I liked using the command hook so that I could place the hanging basket right where I wanted it to sit. I placed it right on the bottom of the center window on my door so it would not remove the black paint from the door on accident.
I just love how it turned out! I ended up hanging this flower basket on my side door because it is the door that most of my visitors come through. But, now I want to create a matching wreath and hang it on my front door to coordinate with this beautiful spring door hanging basket.
It is so easy to make and literally just takes a few minutes to put together!
