Growing up, my siblings and I were very involved in the Household Chores. My parents installed a good work ethic in us…even though at the time we thought we were being picked on. Today I am grateful for what they have taught me about the value of hard work. I am trying to teach my own children these same life lessons. We clean our home as a family which allows us to clean up quickly and have more time for fun activities together.
I love creating new and inspiring ways to help my children be successful with their responsibilities. My children and I sometimes have very different opinions of what it means to clean. So I have taken the time to teach them HOW to clean and where items belong in our home.
For the most part, we do pretty well. I wish I could say our house was spotless all of the time…but in reality, life is busy and sometimes things get cluttered and messy. In the Spring we are busy with all sorts of kids activities, sports events and practices, and we can get behind on the family chores.
When this happens, I hand out the chores cards and the whole family gets to work Spring Cleaning our home. These printable chore cards spell out exactly what needs to be done in each room for it to be considered “clean”.
