MASHED POTATOES
Recently, I mentioned that I was making a BIG effort to get “real” meals on the table for the family…and that means I have lots of our favorite dishes to share with you. I figured it was also a great time to start working on creating a Recipe Binder that is full of our Family’s Favorites so that I could make copies of it and give it to the kids when they start out on their own (gah!!).
Today we are sharing our favorite…Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe!
This recipe is one of those tried and true recipes that makes the perfect side dish for a nice Sunday or weeknight dinner. It also makes a great dish to serve at Thanksgiving or to bring to a dinner party. Everyone loves a good mashed potato. And this one does not disappoint.

GARLIC MASHED POTATOES RECIPE

Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes
This delicious Red Garlic Mashed Potato is the perfect side dish for your barbeque or Sunday dinner. Smooth and creamy red potatoes mixed with garlic. Yum!
Ingredients
- 8 medium red potatoes cubed
- 2 tsp garlic crushed, (or 2 – 3 cloves)
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup half and half cream
- 2 Tbsp white sugar
- 1/4 tsp steak seasoning
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Instructions

Place the potatoes into a large pot, and fill with enough water to cover. Add 1 teaspoon of the crushed garlic to the water for flavor. Bring to a boil, and cook for about 10 minutes, or until easily pierced with a fork.

Drain the potatoes, and add the butter. Mash until the butter is melted. Mix in the half-and-half, sugar, steak seasoning, garlic powder and remaining garlic. Mix potatoes with an electric mixer until smooth.

Serve hot.
